Chances are you'll be visited by squadron of javelina and be serenaded by coyotes while taking in the night sky.brbrOur goal was to embrace our home's fabulous views and warm vibe as we have embarked on our year-long remodel. We think we've succeeded. The kitchen/family room, tv/living room, and back patio organically pull family and friends together to enjoy the outdoors, play cards, or snuggle up for movie night. Set in the back of the house, the bedrooms are quiet retreats.brbrThe home is set on the corner of a 3-plus acre corner lot in a sparsely populated neighborhood about 3 miles from I-10. Wildlife trails traverse the property, and it is not uncommon to see (and hear) javelina, deer, coyotes, rabbits, hares, and a great variety of birds. We are less than a mile from the back country of Saguaro National Park West (the world's 9th certified Urban Night Sky Place), and our area is blessed with many hiking/mountain biking trails. The Tucson Loop is about 2 miles away.*brbrSo while the neighborhood is quiet, it boasts easy access to Tucson's many restaurants, shopping, and tourist attractions. Tucson is a UNESCO designated City of Gastronomy and the culinary scene is something you'll certainly want to experience. We keep puzzles, cards, and board games in the house and have a port-a-crib, high chair, infant/toddler toys, and a plastic wading pool for our grandchildren that we are happy to make available on request.brbrNota Bene: We are still adding decor and have some exterior work and landscaping to attend to (hence bargain rates for 2024). We are also are adding a 4th bedroom with in-suite bath -- watch for updated images. The Time Capsule is a unique experience in a space age module dropped in the middle of an 11 acres desert sanctuary and sculpture park, adjacent to the Saguaro National Park. Enjoy the quietness of the desert in a safe environment located at just 35 minutes from downtown Tucson.brbrBecause of the refinement of the interior design we cannot accept any pet, service animal, nor children in the Time Capsule.brbrPlease note that check in is in person only and not later than 10:00PM. No exception!brbrThe Time Capsule is an eco-friendly tiny cabin with a colorful space age thematic. The private shower, sink and dry compost toilet are in exterior attached to the cabin on a circular elevated deck which surrounds the facility.brbrThe property is a desert art space called The Island In Tucson. You may read more information about our project via the website and the Instagram profile under the same name. The property is fenced and few security cameras allow us to feel fully safe.brbrThe Time Capsule is set at 25 yards from another Vrbo guesthouse called Groovy Glamper. It is possible for guests who want to share their stay with friends or relatives to rent both places at the same time. Our main house is at a distance of 140 yards so easily reachable in case of specific need, but far enough to feel isolated.brbrWe live in a natural environment that we love and respect very much. This is why will be provided plant based body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and dish soap. The grey water used in the shower and the sink feeds young trees planted around the facility thanks to an underground drain system. Because we live in a dry place and water is scarce, the dry comport toilets in the guest houses and in our main home allow us to save a lot of water. It is very easy to use, we will take care to explain to our guests the basic procedure that is very easy and not unpleasant. The water used on the property is a mix of harvested rain water and water coming from a community well delivered by truck. The water is drinkable as it is filtered with a UV system that kill 99% of germs.brbrPlease note that even if we provide everything for cooking (microwave, portable hot plate with pans, charcoal grill, coffee maker…) there is no dedicated kitchen in the Time Capsule. The experience we offer here is literally unusual and unique. Be ready to open your mind!brbrYour car will be parked at about 50 yards from the Time Capsule, so please expect to walk through the desert a couple of minutes for reaching the facility.brbrWe live in a rural environment so you may hear roosters, dogs and coyotes at anytime. The motion detection outdoor lights may turn on because of wild animals circulating at night.
