Included in your stay, our kayaks are available to explore and fish right from our home. If pier fishing is more your style, we have a pier that stretches right out in to the river. Our home is situated just south of Tomahawk on a section of the Wisconsin River called the Grandmother Flowage. Both of these bedrooms have only three steps to enter the home, with no steps to navigate through this level. This level is also shared with the full kitchen, spacious living room, dining room to seat 6, and the patio leading out to the deck and water. The living room has a 65` TV with a sound bar where you can log in to your favorite streaming services. Leading downstairs in to the `Loon Lounge`, unwind with friends and family at our elevated dry bar overlooking the 65` TV with sound bar. You may log in to your favorite streaming services to watch the game or your favorite shows and movies. There is an Amish crafted lay-flat couch that provides seating and a cozy place to sleep. Down the hallway, there is a game room with an Atari with over 150+ games preloaded for your throwback entertainment. You may also bring your own gaming console and plug in to our HDMI splitter. Next to the game room is another bedroom with a plush king size bed, and an attached full bathroom. Lastly, a laundry room is at the end of the hall where you can complete any mid-stay laundry loads. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out!brbrTomahawk, Trails & Water: Our home is located on the Grandmother Flowage as part of the Wisconsin River, and has an endless amount of shoreline and water to explore via kayak, boat, or snowmobile. With a maximum depth of 22 feet and a length of almost 7 miles, you will find an endless amount of panfish, largemouth and smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye, and the coveted Wisconsin musky. There are three boat launches located on the flowage, one located on the same road as the property. For snowmobiling, you can ride straight from the garage and ride north a few miles up river to where the trail meets, if the river is frozen. Please use caution. During the summer, there are hundreds of miles of ATV/UTV trails to explore. Tomahawk is a ATV/UTV friendly town. brThere are TONS of lakes to explore. Lake Mohawksin, Nakomis, Alice and the Wisconsin River are all located around Tomahawk and offer excellent fishing and boating opportunities. The historical Hiawatha Trail is a beautiful trail to explore. Timms Hill is the highest overlook in Wisconsin. Rib Mountain/Granite Peak Ski Area is the Midwests LARGEST ski hill and is within an hour of the lodge. Copper Falls is a breathtaking waterfall hike and is 2 hours away (a great day trip). brWe have a personalized list of local recommendations for restaurants and things to do which we will send to you upon booking. There are lots of supper clubs and restaurants to explore.brbrSpecial note: We have had local reports of the ice behind the home where it is a hit or miss. Make sure to check local ice reports, and stay informed for safe conditions. There are plenty of alternative options to ice fish around Tomahawk.br- Check in time is 4:00 P.M. on the first day of the booking.br- Check-out time is 11:00 A.M. on the last day of the booking. Please follow the check-out instructions in your guidebook.br- Please refrain from using shoes/boots inside the cottage. There are lots of supper clubs and different restaurants to explore. brbrGetting around/Trail info: The lodge is located only 12 minutes from downtown Tomahawk via Highway 86, 17 minutes from Highway 51, and only 20 minutes from Timm`s Hill Observation Tower (highest lookout in Wisconsin). There are four boat launches located on the reservoir, one located just four minutes east via Highway 86. You are free to use our pier for easy access to the flowage. There are two snowmobile/riding trails close by, one 3.5 miles away and another 4.5 miles away, all within access from the property by snowmobile or ATV/UTVbrbrAn important note - in late fall to early spring, the water depth fluctuates to allow for snow/ice melt in the flowage. The water level fluctuates four to six feet in late fall to early spring, but does not noticeably fluctuate in the warmer months (early April-mid October). Swimming is always safe and there is little to no current. For current water level reports on the Spirit River Flowage, search `Wisconsin Valley Improvement Company`, go to the `Reservoirs` tab, and click `Water Level Reports`. Use the down-menu to select `Spirit Reservoir`.brbr-There are neighbors to this lodge, but the lodge is very much secluded from them. We are not responsible for any fluctuation in water level in the flowage. The area has LOTS to offer from the best fishing in the area, supper clubs, trail riding, hiking, snowshoeing, golfing, and the Midwest`s LARGEST ski resort within an hour. Camp 10 ski hill in Rhinelander is another closer option. brbrThe eastern flow of the Wisconsin River opens up in to Lake Alice, which has an endless amount of shoreline and water to explore via kayak, canoe, or snowmobile. With a maximum depth of 32 feet, you will find an endless amount of panfish, largemouth and smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye, and the coveted Wisconsin musky. The Town of King boat launch is located right next to the property. Tomahawk is KNOWN for their riding trails. A snowmobile trail is within 700 yards from the back door where you can ride directly from the cottage to the trail. During the summer, the riding trails are within a short distance from the cottage where you can ride directly to them. brbrGetting around: There is off-street parking located in the driveway at the cottage. You are welcome to park in the 2 car garage. Tomahawk is only a 5 minute drive from the cottage. It is necessary to bring a vehicle to get around. Tomahawk is an ATV/UTV friendly city, and you can ride your ATV/UTV on most roads (make sure its a marked route).br- Check in time is 4:00 P.M. on the first day of the booking.br- Check-out time is 11:00 A.M. on the last day of the booking.
