What is in the area: The Spirit River Reservoir has an endless amount of shoreline and water to explore via kayak, canoe, or snowmobile. With a maximum depth of 25 feet and a length of almost 9 miles, you will find an endless amount of panfish, largemouth and smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye, and the coveted Wisconsin musky. There are four boat launches located on the reservoir, one located a four minute drive from the property. There are two snowmobile trails close by, one 3.5 miles away and another 4.5 miles away, all within access from the property by snowmobile (ditch riding required). During the summer, there are hundreds of miles of ATV/UTV trails to explore. Tomahawk is a ATV/UTV friendly town.
There are TONS of lakes to explore. Lake Mohawksin, Nakomis, Alice and the Wisconsin River are all located around Tomahawk and offer excellent fishing and boating opportunities. The historical Hiawatha Trail is a beautiful trail to explore. Timms Hill is the highest overlook in Wisconsin, and is located only 20 minutes away. Rib Mountain/Granite Peak Ski Area is the Midwests LARGEST ski hill and is within an hour of the lodge. Copper Falls is a breathtaking waterfall hike and is 2 hours away (a great day trip).

There are four boat launches located on the reservoir, one located just four minutes east via Highway 86. You are free to use our pier for easy access to the flowage. There are two snowmobile/riding trails close by, one 3.5 miles away and another 4.5 miles away, all within access from the property by snowmobile or ATV/UTV

An important note - in late fall to early spring, the water depth fluctuates to allow for snow/ice melt in the flowage. The water level fluctuates four to six feet in late fall to early spring, but does not noticeably fluctuate in the warmer months (early April-mid October). Swimming is always safe and there is little to no current. For current water level reports on the Spirit River Flowage, search `Wisconsin Valley Improvement Company`, go to the `Reservoirs` tab, and click `Water Level Reports`. Use the down-menu to select `Spirit Reservoir`.

-There are neighbors to this lodge, but the lodge is very much secluded from them. There is no shortage of privacy.
-No pets are allowed on beds or furniture. Please bring a bed for your pet. A $30/night charge will be added to your booking if you bring a pet. Guest must disclose to the host if they are bringing pets prior to check-in.
-The Spirit River Flowage varies in water depth throughout the year. To check current depth, search `WVIC water level reports` and select `Spirit River Reservoir`, and adjust the dates to the month your reservation is in. Then click `View Chart`. The water depth has never prevented us from enjoying the lodge!
- Check in time is 4:00 P.M. on the first day of the booking.
- Check-out time is 11:00 A.M. on the last day of the booking. Please follow the check-out instructions in your guidebook.
-Please refrain from using shoes inside the lodge. Thank you!
-Do not dispose grease down drains.
-Do not dispose anything but toilet paper in toilets.
- Guests are required to communicate with the host.
-Ensure all fires and grills are extinguished before vacating the property or going to bed.
- Only the number of people are allowed to stay at the lodge as accepted in the original booking.
- Events are not allowed on the property. Feel free to contact Ben for any questions.
- A maximum of 3 pets are allowed *with prior approval* to stay at the lodge. Be sure to bring their own beds and toys. Any damages/smell caused by pets will be charged back to your reservation. An initial $60/night charge will be added to your booking which will count for 2 nights of pet fees if you bring a pet. An additional $30/night will be added for each night past two nights in your booking. Pet fees are $30/night if you bring a pet. Guest must disclose to the host if they are bringing pets prior to check-in. The host has the right to deny a reservation based on approval of pets.
- Keep in mind when bringing a boat that the Spirit River Flowage fluctuates in water level throughout the year. Primarily during the fall and winter months, the water level is lowered to prevent flooding during the spring months. We typically do not see issues throughout the summer, but it is important to plan ahead. To check current and historical water levels, search `WVIC water levels`. Once you find the water levels page, select `Spirit River Reservoir`, and adjust the dates to the month your reservation is in. You can also see historical data. Then click `View Chart`. We are not responsible for any fluctuation in water level in the flowage. Guests are to understand that it is their responsibility to review the water level and it will not result in a refund if in the case the water is low.
- Pets are *not* allowed on furniture or the beds.
- No smoking is allowed inside the lodge. Dispose any butts in a can or bottle.
- Quiet hours are between 9:00 P.M. and 10:00 A.M.. Please respect our neighbors!
- No fires in the fire pit should exceed 4` in height. Do not accelerate fires with gas/oil/etc.
- No parking on the grass. You may use the grass to turn trailers around, but please do not park there.
- Most importantly, HAVE FUN!

Sometimes you never know what you're going to get when you get to your VRBO. Sometimes the photos mislead you, but I must say everything shown in this listing is accurate. Everything about it was exceptional. Ben, who is the gentleman that corresponded with us through? All our questions was always available in a timely fashion. We will definitely be coming back to this magnificent place again in the future. So if you ever want to know anything more about this home, rest assured everything posted is spot on.

The house was beautiful and perfect for our family. We had kids from 1 mo- 6 years old. The house has so many unique details including bunk beds that would work even for adults. I especially enjoyed drinking my coffee on the dock in the morning and kayaking. The kitchen was fully stocked including even Tupperware. We had a few hiccups during the trip including the power being out for a few hours and the internet needing to be reset. I would bring flashlights. Due to the remote location of the house, there is no cell service. The owner was very responsive.

Great house and location. Having 4 kayaks available was great, and not usual from our experience. The river was not very busy, I think we only saw a handful of fishing boats the week we were there. This made for great conditions for the family to kayak. The kitchen was well stocked, and had everything we needed to cook some family meals at night. It was nice to have a table large enough for the whole family to sit and have dinner. The beds were very comfortable and 2 of the 3 showers had great water pressure. There was plenty of privacy, yet close enough to town and several golf courses to enjoy. Milo's was a small store just a couple of miles down the road that has a large selection if you need to pick something up quickly. Ben was very receptive to any questions we had and ensuring we had everything we needed. We had a great time, and would definitely go back.

Ben was a very attentive host- specific and timely communication. House was very nice, clean, fully stocked, and with a lot of special touches( nice sheets, pillows, towels, phone jacks, wifi boosters, kayaks/canoes). We were sad we didn’t have time to use basement area and movie room! Loved the screened in seasonal room. Water was calm and quiet and beautiful. Only small thing ( not a deal breaker)- lake view was somewhat obstructed by trees but created privacy that some want. it’s obvious that Ben takes great care of house/property. We really enjoyed our stay!

We had an amazing stay. This home's furnishings and decor made our stay feel like we were truly in the North woods. Plenty of spaces for us all to gather together or in small groups. We especially loved the sunroom in the mornings, fire pit in the evenings, game room and movie room on a rainy afternoon. Beds are super comfy. Kitchen is very well stocked. We wanted for nothing that wasn't supplied.Communication with Ben was easy with quick replies. Highly recommend. Everyone who stayed gives this place 5 stars.

Great property for family and friends to come together. Ample space inside and out gives older kids the freedom to find their place and/or for family and friend activities. Lots of golfing available in the area. Bring a truck up with you so you can simply float down the flowage in the kayak and get picked up when you're done! Well-appointed property and great communication from host.

If you want to get away from it all, catch up with friends or family, read a book, fish or take a canoe or kayak out on a quiet waterway, this is a great place. We do something like this every few years with a few couples and we like a good size house with a large kitchen. This place will not disappoint. Great amenities. There is not much to do in the area but peace and quiet galore here.

A wonderful experience! We traveled with adults and 4 young kids and this house was very accommodating. It was extremely clean and well maintained! The hosts have thoughtful touches throughout the home including fans in each room, extra blankets, charging ports throughout, plenty of towels, a fully equipped and great functioning kitchen, comfortable beds, blinds in bedroom windows, fast wifi and smart TVs. The kids enjoyed swimming around the pier and fishing from the provided canoes. They loved the bunk beds! We highly recommend this property.
