From there, visit the Ballard Locks to watch the salmon jump up the fish ladders. Keep going and you will find Golden Gardens, one of the most popular beaches in town. Fremont is even closer with lots of shops and restaurants and its famous Bridge Troll. Green Lake, which features a beautiful 2.8 mile running/walking path, boat rentals and a community center, is a short drive or a long walk through the lovely Woodland Park. Wallingford is 1 mile away and you will only be 2 miles from the University District.
