One bedroom, one bathroom, one bed, comfortable for 3 guests. The interior leans rustic with warm tones and modern comforts in equal measure, sized for someone who wants a quiet basecamp rather than a hotel room.brbrbrbrInside, you will find a comfortable bedroom for a restful night, a full bathroom, and an open living space with a flat-screen TV and wireless internet. A small kitchen handles light cooking and morning coffee. Air conditioning and heating are in place for both summer afternoons and winter cold fronts. Bed linens and towels are stocked, along with a hair dryer and hangers.brbrbrbrOutside is where this cabin earns its keep: a private fire pit for evening cookouts and stargazing, a BBQ grill for steaks and burgers, and the kind of Texas Panhandle sky that pulls people out of the cabin after sunset. The compound around the cabin is acreage at the edge of Palo Duro Canyon, so the quiet runs deep at night.brbrbrbrThe Red Cabin is pet-friendly with prior approval and a pet fee. Smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detector, and fire extinguisher are on site for safety.brbrbrbrIf your group is bigger than 3, the Red Cabin pairs with our other cabins, the tiny home, the airstream, the main house, or the bunker on the same compound. The TEXAS Outdoor Musical runs Tuesday through Sunday at 8pm from June through August at the amphitheatre, which sits inside the park. Downtown Canyon has the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum, West Texas A&M University, and a handful of local BBQ and Tex-Mex spots within a few miles. Amarillo is a short drive north on I-27 for the Big Texan Steak Ranch and Cadillac Ranch off I-40. Days are canyon trails and quiet porches. Nights are fire-pit smoke and an open Texas sky.brbrbrbrGetting Around:brbrA rental car is required. Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport (AMA) is the closest commercial airport, with a straightforward drive south on I-27 to Canyon, then west on Country Club Road. Rideshare options in Canyon are limited. Parking is on the property.brbrbrbrOther Things to Note:brbrThis is a tiny cabin on a working rural compound at the edge of the canyon. Pets must be supervised on the unfenced shared acreage.brbrbrbrInteraction with Guests:brbrWe respect your privacy. No one is on site full-time.
