Luxury Angus Ranch Estate • Pool & HotTub • Private 50-Acre Retreat Near Hershey

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States

Welcome to your private escape just minutes from Hershey—set on 50 scenic acres, this luxury Angus ranch estate offers a rare blend of space, comfort, history, and convenience that you won’t find anywhere else in the area.brThis is a family-owned and personally managed property, thoughtfully restored and cared for by Candice, myself and our family. This isn’t a corporate rental or a mass-produced rental project—it’s a home we brought back to life with purpose, pride, and attention to detail.brThe farmhouse dates back to the early 1800s, but the home has been completely remodeled in 2026 for today’s guests. Nearly everything has been newly renovated, replaced, or upgraded, while select historic details were intentionally preserved to keep the character and soul of the original home. The result is a rare balance: the warmth and charm of a historic farmhouse with the cleanliness, comfort, and function of a modern luxury stay. brWith five bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, the home is designed for families and groups to gather comfortably. The layout offers plenty of room to spread out, relax, reconnect, and enjoy time together without feeling crowded.brStep outside and the property truly sets itself apart. Enjoy the brand-new private pool, relax in the hot tub, gather around the fire pit in the evening, or take a walk down the private hiking path to Beaver Creek. From morning coffee overlooking the land to quiet evenings under the stars, the setting feels peaceful, private, and memorable.brLocation is one of the biggest advantages. You’re just minutes from Hersheypark, the Giant Center, Hershey Medical Center, restaurants, shopping, and major routes—while still coming home to the privacy and space of a true ranch estate.brHaving raised our family here, we know and love the area well. Our kids grew up with Hersheypark passes and years of local memories, so we’re happy to share real recommendations—not generic travel tips.brCandice is available to assist as much or as little as you’d like, whether that means local dining suggestions, help planning your stay, or thoughtful touches to make the trip feel special.brWhether you’re visiting for a family trip, a special occasion, sporting event, concert, holiday, or Hershey-area getaway, this is more than a place to stay—it’s a completely reimagined historic ranch estate designed to be experienced.

Harrisburg / Hershey Happy! Unique, Comfy, Space and Smiles

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States

A unique and spacious home with a positive vibe that's great for everyone from couples to group gatherings! brbr*Please read the whole description before reserving, just so you're happy with your choice and we're all on the same page. Please mention what brings you to town and confirm your guest total*brbrIt used to be a church built before the Civil War.....so it's got some history, yet it's got all the modern, comfy-homey stuff we all have come to enjoy. brbrGreat place for couples, large or small families of all ages or groups of friends for just about any occasion. It's a big, cozy, fun place even for groups but also couples if you want to have a large home all to yourselves! brbrIt's not a corporate hotel. If you're looking for a home away from home this could be it. It's eclectic, warm, cheerful, and welcoming. .....If you're tired of cookie-cutter chain hotels and in the mood for something charming, warm, fun, and different, hopefully you'll enjoy it :) brbrAny questions or special requests; just ask. I do my best to make sure you have a great stay and it helps to ask questions ahead of time. brbrThe place is probably a little bigger than the average home and has an open first floor, so it's fantastic for entertaining or just relaxing after touring the Central PA region. brbrKeep in mind the rate does vary somewhat due to the number of guests. The website doesn't do a great job at labeling the charges in my opinion. But the reason for varying rates is essentially because if a couple or small family of four were charged the same as a group of 20, they would not likely be able to afford it. So the base rate is far lower than, say, a group of a dozen having an event. Hopefully that makes sense, as I'm just trying to be fair to all involved. brbrIt's a true By owner rental in that I take a lot of pride in my home and I want everyone to feel at home. When you reserve the home the house is all yours. So please enjoy and make it your home for your stay.brbrI'm just a laid-back guy who likes to decorate in what I think is a cool, fun, retro Americana style. My personal style might not be for everyone. I love American mid-century motif.brbrI can't promise overly fancy or current fashion. Yet, I think all of the conveniences you would expect to find in a house are there, even if I don't have the high-end stuff. For example, there are way more comfy pillows, blankets, and towels than you could ever use, but probably none of the pillow cases will be the same color. There are plenty of dishes and silverware, but there might be ten different colors of plates. So this is definitely not a Martha Stewart home when it comes to matching colors and a name-brand utensil for every course of a meal. However, everything is clean and I'd be surprised if there wasn't a kitchen utensil you won't find. brbrThe neighborhood is quiet and very safe. This is the suburbs of the Harrisburg area. It's about 2 miles from the Farm Show, 5 minutes from downtown Harrisburg, 20 minutes to HersheyPark and the Hershey area, 30 minutes or less to Ski Roundtop and less than 2 miles from both I-81 and I-83. It's very convenient to anything in the Harrisburg, Hershey and Central PA areas. brbrIt's my home much of the time (hopefully you'll consider it your home when you're there and I'm not), so my home is decorated in my taste, which happens to be mid-century Americana. (think young Elvis Presley and '57 Cadillacs) It's very retro in style, yet has all of our our modern comforts including high-quality wi-fi. brbrThis is a comfortable home and the opposite of a corporate hotel. It's your home when you rent it and all yours. You'll find everything that you'd expect in a normal American home as far as amenities such as cookware, common foods and utensils, linens, washer/dryer, pots and pans, and so on. You are welcome to help yourself to anything in the house.brbrYou don't have to bring anything other than your smiles. There's plenty of towels, linens, pillows, etc. I've gone out of my way to have extra blankets, pillows, towels and other things that make it a home. There are extra sleeping bags for kids just in case. You'll always have enough of the comfort things. brbrExtra soap, shampoo, toothpaste and more in case you forget to bring your favorite things. Truth is you really don't need to bring anything at all, unless you plan to cook a specific dish. Odds are the spices you'd use are likely already here. You're welcome to use whatever you come across in the kitchen. brbrYou're welcome to cook and be at home in every way. Feel free to use the appliances, spices, pots and pans, and anything else you find. brbrThere are guitars, a full drum kit, piano, and other instruments there for anyone to enjoy. I trust my guests to use common sense and not beat them up; they are there to be enjoyed, not abused. If you break a string on a guitar, please replace and re-tune. It's kind of like the leave no trace vibe of when you're in the forest, lolbrbrThere's a rec-room, bar-type area downstairs that has air hockey and foosball, as well as a large bar for the adults. There are a lot of old-school board and card games. brbrThe parking lot that can handle around 10 vehicles and additional unlimited parking 1/2 mile away. brbrThere is an outdoor seating area with a picnic table and other tables and chairs for all-season sitting and hanging out. There is a small fire-pit and a gas grill. The gas grill isn't new and fancy, but it works and you're welcome to use it. There are two charcoal grills as well. ....again, nothing huge or fancy, but they work just fine.brbrThis is a great place for couples, families, and small events. It's great for many occasions: family reunions, pre-wedding get-togethers, a couples night, fantasy football drafts, and more. Sometimes it's just nice to have a place where the whole group or extended family can stay under one roof. brbrPets: I love dogs! However, they do cause more issues than many folks realize. Please describe your pet when you place your reservation request. There is a pet fee and it covers (2). If you have more than that, please let me know....probably OK, but let me know. Please do not just show up with a furry friend without paying the pet fee!brbrEvents: *The big exception to the rule as far as events go is: No parties for locals under 30 who just want to have a party just for a party's sake.* brbr*Paying for Guests: Guests are whoever comes to the house. It's not just who is staying overnight. Please ask if you have questions about this. I usually discount it from what the website suggests as long as I'm informed upfront * brbr My feeling is that you can sleep around 15-18 people in beds. Now, that's two per bed and a couple of pull-out sofas. Most of the beds are queen-sized. So if you're a cozy group and don't mind two beds in a room and two persons per bed, then around 15 people in beds is reasonable. If you're like me and want leg-room and your own bed, then it might be more like 10 people. Then again, one time I hosted a group that was largely young guys in the Boy Scouts and they were fine with sleeping on a few couches and sleeping bags on the floor. If that's the case then I bet sleeping up to 20 would be reasonable. For some reason the site keeps saying sleeps 30 and that's not true and I keep trying to change it. brbrAs far as group size goes, I've had charity events up to 25 guests. Now, that's the maximum in my opinion and that does not mean overnight guests. An example would be having an event in the day with roughly 25 guests and around 15 or so of them stay the night. brbrWhen you rent the house it is all yours to do as you please. I want everyone to have a great time . Just please treat my home as you'd like yours to be treated and do your best to leave it as you found it. It's my home much of the time, but it's all yours during your stay. (single rooms are never for rent, only the whole house)brbrPlease keep in mind that while sometimes I pay a housekeeper to help me out with cleaning and pay a handyman to help me with repairs, I don't charge a cleaning fee or even a security deposit like many places do. You are basically on the honor system to clean up after yourselves the best you can. brbrThere is a wooded area with a small creek behind the property that can be nice for a short nature walk. There are two parks that are walking distance from the house. brbr*There is an old cemetery next to the house, as the house used to be a church. I think it's pretty neat, but maybe some folks might think it weird so I'm mentioning it. The cemetery is from the Civil War era, so it's mostly historic rather than accepting new customers lol* Most folks seem to think it's pretty cool and interesting. brbrI like to think I'm super chill as a host. But please don't fib about the number of guests you will have. The rate does depend somewhat on the number of guests. The reasoning is simple: a group of 20 having a wedding reception obviously uses a lot more resources and adds more wear & tear than a small family of 4 going to HersheyPark and giving themselves a special treat. Please be honest about the number of guests, whether they are actually spending the night or not. brbrQuestions or special requests Just ask! I do my best to make sure you have a great stay and it helps to ask questions ahead of time.brbrThis isn't a full-time professional business. It's my home when I'm in town. Please treat it as thus. brbrWhen placing a reservation request please give an idea of what the occasion is for your visit and confirm the guest total. I try to cater the stay to the occasion the best I can. Hopefully it's a happy and memorable visit!

Bank on it ! Spacious, comfortable, eclectic and fun!

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States

Quirky and retro and different and definitely not a corporate hotel. It's clean and fun and centrally-located in the Harrisburg/Hershey Central PA area.brbr**Please read over the entire description before reserving; It's a unique property and not a hotel. I want everyone to have a great experience with only pleasant surprises. The description tries really hard to answer all questions, but please ask ahead of time if something isn't covered. The website version of the description is more detailed than the phone app**brbr5 minutes from downtown Harrisburg and 20 minutes to Hershey.brbrThis used to be the town bank and now it's a fun home and has open space and plenty of indoor room. My home can host anything from a couple's weekend to events such as family reunions. brbr*Please make sure your guest total is accurate because the rate varies somewhat based on number of guests. For example: an adult couple of two having a romantic weekend shouldn't have to pay the same rate as a group of 20 having a corporate retreat and a large group should pay their fair rate*brbrIt's 100% yours when I'm out of town if you reserve it. It's my home when I'm in town and has all of the comforts and conveniences you'd expect in most homes.brbrThe building is decorated and furnished in my personal taste, which is Americana-retro, mid-century vintage fun. All of the modern touches are there, including top-notch Internet and electronics. Plenty of fun stuff such as board-games, foosball, musical instruments, dart-board, casual bar area, and more.brbrHopefully you'll agree that it's cool, fun, and a positive and uplifting vibe. It's got a lot of open space and it's decorated in my personal style and of course that might not be for everyone. So please check out the pictures and feel free to ask any questions before booking.brbrYou are welcome to use the musical instruments, play the games, turn up the music, and enjoy anything in the house. Feel free to eat the snacks, cook, use the spices, or have a beer (the bar is sort of a take a drink, leave a drink policy). It's a fully-furnished home and you're welcome to use it as such.brbrThis is my home much of the time and it's well-stocked. I don't have fancy tastes, but it's certainly clean and has plenty of linens, many extra blankets, tons of pillows, and more. I like a comfortable home!brbrThere are a lot of old-school board games, puzzles, card games, and more. I try to bring the place back to the age when people spent quality time together rather than everyone retreating to their rooms and play on the phone. (not that there isn't good wi-fi too)brbr It's got a lot of space inside (my buddies and I even throw football to each other inside.....not saying you should do that, but you could ;) However, I want to make sure everyone has an accurate description. There is virtually no outdoor space. It used to be a bank and banks don't need yards. There is just enough green area where your doggy could use the restroom, so to speak, but there isn't much in the way of hanging out space outside. brbrThe unique house is basically in town. It's about five minutes from downtown Harrisburg in Penbrook. Penbrook is a calm town; it's not fancy but it has its charms. A lot of people drive through Penbrook during morning and afternoon rush-hour because it has a main road. Other than the commuting hours it's a fairly quiet town. But again, the town itself is not upscale or fancy; it's certainly safe and centrally-located. The town of Penbrook isn't fancy and the main street you'll often use and where the house is located is not exactly picturesque. It's a blue-collar kind of town and not wealthy, it's safe, laid-back, and centrally-located to all areas of Central PA. The town itself is small and more of a throughway. brbrMy house is big inside but it has very little green area outside. There are parks nearby though. It's a spacious, safe, fun place with a positive vibe inside with lots of indoor space and room to spread out. brbrOften guests say the pictures don't do it justice and that it's more impressive in person.brbrThere is a good local pizza shop right across the street and a mini-mart to make.brbrThere is a well-stocked bar that is on the honor system and please feel free to leave something behind ;)brbrThere are my music instruments that I leave out for all to enjoy. (guitars, stand-up bass, drums) That being said, please use reasonable judgement when it comes to kids and the instruments. They are welcome to handle them, but at the same time they weren't free. I totally understand that once in a while something gets broken: picture falls off a wall, guitar string breaks, etc., but please let me know. Otherwise it might be a while before I notice, especially with drum-sticks or guitar strings. .....and if you or your kids break a string, please re-string it.brbr*Please be clear that the number of guests includes anyone who is visiting even if they are not expected to spend the night. The rate is based somewhat on the number of guests. It's not just the number who would be spending the night. I'm not opposed to larger groups, but please be open about the estimated number of guests and the occasion for the visit. Discounts on guest total rate are common as long as it's clarified before the stay* brbrThere is a parking lot that is part of this property as well that can park up to a dozen vehicles. The parking lot is about 50 feet from the house and across a one-way alley. There is also street parking and usually at least a couple of spots right along the building. You can load/unload right in front of the building on the main road (Walnut Street) feet from the entrance up to two hours. brbrPlease ask any questions you like before booking! Better to ask ahead of time to avoid anyone having unfulfilled expectations. brbrI realize sometimes the person booking the reservation may have different tastes and preferences than the rest of their party. So please ask all adults to read this profile/description before your stay. I just want to make sure expectations are more than met. brbrThis is a fun and unique property, but if someone is expecting the kind of home that Martha Stewart stays at, they might not appreciate the quirkiness. brbrEvents such as small wedding receptions, family reunions, or company get-togethers are welcome. However, parties for locals just having a party for the sake of partying are not allowed. Unfortunately the only problem guests have been 20'something locals who just want to party. Most events are welcome as long as they are accurately described at the time of the reservation request. Please just ask if you're not sure. Please be clear that the number of guests visiting needs to be included on your reservation request.brbrThis site doesn't do a great job at labelling the rates and fees. There are reasons the rate varies depending on the number of guests. For example: a married couple wanting a weekend alone is far different from 20 guys having a bachelor party. The wear and tear, resources used, and possible extra clean-up all costs a lot more. But if the rate is the same for 20 people it would be too expensive for couples or a small family. brbrI'm quite reasonable about guest charges. For example, if you're staying three days and want to have a small get-together for a few hours on just one of the days, I'm not expecting you to pay for each guest for three days. Unfortunately the website doesn't make some of those nuances easy to tackle. Please message ahead of time with any questions.brbrMy place can host events up to 30 guests for socializing. 20 overnight guests is reasonable if many are couples. brbrI don't charge a cleaning fee and most of the time there is no security deposit. In fact the only fee charged is for pets. Any other fees or taxes are charged by the website and the misc. taxes the website collects.brbr*About pets: Make sure pets are listed in the reservation request and the fee paid. I love animals and I don't want to say no pets. However, I now realize why some owners don't accept pets. Most dogs shed more when they have stress of a strange environment. They sometimes make a mess inside where the owner doesn't even see it. Worst of all would be the possibility of fleas. Please be 100% sure your pet was recently treated. The limit on number of pets is two; but that doesn't mean exceptions can't be made, but I think an additional fee would be fair. Please inquire first. ....I don't love having rules, but the pets have sometimes been more difficult than one might expect.* (There is very limited green at the building area for pets, but parks are nearby)brbrI do my best to be a super chill host and I'm happy to help with special requests.brbrThe Main Street of Penbrook that you'll take into town isn't much to look at. Unfortunately I can't make the immediate area around the house prettier, lol, but the town itself is safe and laid-back. brbrFeel free to ask for area recommendations; Central PA is a wonderful area with a lot to offer!brbr*please read the entire description before reserving; also please ask at least one other adult from your group or family to read it over as well......look at the pics and read the reviews; just so you have a really good idea of what you can look forward to during your visit.....please ask any questions if something wasn't covered in the description :)
