Peaceful Forested Riverside Cottage with a Hot Tub, Cozy Vibes & Pets Welcome

Havelock, Ontario, Canada

Step into warm light, soft forest air, and the comfort of home in the woods. Welcome to your secluded forest-and-river sanctuary — a rustic-luxe, Tudor-inspired retreat where cozy charm meets wild nature, and every window frames a living painting of pines, oaks, flowing water, and often the wildlife that wanders through. This is a place where you instantly feel peace, awe, and the quiet sense of finally being at home.brbrSet deep within a forest of tall pines and mature oaks, the property feels like a hidden world all your own. In fall, the trees erupt into stunning colors that make the entire landscape glow. Deer drift gently through the trees, otters play along the riverbank, and birds fill the air with movement and song. It’s secluded enough to feel like a true escape, yet close enough to small-town gems that you’re never far from what you need.brbrThe river is the soul of this place—alive, warm, and always changing with the seasons. In winter and spring, the rapids rush with energy and music. In summer and fall, the river slows and warms, becoming a peaceful swimming spot perfect for long, lazy afternoons. There’s a swimming dock for dipping in the water, a beautiful place to read, meditate, or simply let your feet drift in the current. Two kayaks are ready for you to paddle directly from the shoreline straight into Cordova Lake, a hidden treasure of calm coves and sparkling vistas.brbrThe outdoor spaces invite connection, stillness, and simple joys. On the main deck, you’ll find a BBQ, seating for lounging or dining, and a hot tub that offers breathtaking views of the forest and river. It’s wonderfully private and incredible for stargazing—you can watch the sky open above you while listening to the soft hum of the river below. Down by the water, under the branches of an old oak tree, you’ll find a chiminea and two classic Muskoka chairs. It’s a magical spot for fireside conversations, quiet reflection, or watching the river drift past. There’s also a traditional bonfire pit on the property for cozy evenings under the stars.brbrInside, the home’s Tudor-inspired warmth creates an atmosphere that is both elegant and deeply comforting. The sunroom is the heart of the home—a bright, light-filled space that glows from sunrise to sunset. Comfortable couches, a gas fireplace nearby, and views of the forest and river make it perfect for reading, relaxing, or sharing slow moments with the people you love. It’s the kind of space where time stretches and softens, where you can exhale fully.brbrThere are two bedrooms: one with a queen bed and one with a twin, both offering beautiful views of the forest and river. The beds are cozy and welcoming, inviting long, restful sleeps and peaceful mornings with the sound of the water drifting through the windows. The washroom is a beautifully designed retreat of its own, featuring heated floors and natural live-edge finishing that feels rustic, earthy, and luxurious all at once.brbrThe kitchen is fully equipped and a dream to cook in, with an island overlooking the river and everything you need to create meals together. Whether you’re cooking a romantic dinner or preparing brunch after a slow morning, the space makes it feel effortless and joyful.brbrFor creativity, connection, and comfort, the home offers an incredible library filled with books for every mood—fiction, nature writing, queer literature, poetry, spirituality, art, and more. You’ll also find a collection of board games, a Bluetooth speaker, and high-speed Starlink internet, making the home ideal for artists, writers, remote workers, wellness seekers, and anyone who wants to blend inspiration with relaxation.brbrThough the property feels completely tucked away, you’re just 20 minutes from the charming town of Havelock, home to the beloved Wildflower Bakery with its unforgettable bread, pastries, and coffee. Local highlights include Cordova Falls, the Marmora Mines, and the Havelock Station Restaurant. Sam’s Place—an iconic general store in Cordova Mines—is only ten minutes away and perfect for any last-minute needs. There are lovely walks along old foresting roads nearby, offering quiet moments of exploration and fresh forest air.brbrPets are warmly welcomed here, and the forest and river are an absolute dream for well-behaved dogs. Whether you’re arriving for romance, queer joy, artistic inspiration, wellness, nature connection, remote work, or a cozy, soul-filling escape with friends or family, this retreat offers a perfect blend of magic and comfort.brbrCheck-in is simple and flexible with an easy self-check-in lockbox, and each season brings something special. Spring is alive with rapids and wildlife. Summer brings warm river swimming, kayaking, and stargazing. Fall becomes a glowing forest wonderland of color. Winter offers snow-dusted trees, steaming hot tub sessions, and the sweetest indoor coziness.brbrNo matter when you arrive, this secluded riverside forest home wraps around you like a soft blanket. Whether you’re soaking under the stars, reading in the sunroom’s golden sunlight, wandering old logging roads, cooking while watching the water move outside the window, or simply lying in bed listening to the river, you’ll feel the deep comfort of being exactly where you’re meant to be.brbrThis place isn’t just somewhere to stay. It’s a sanctuary. A feeling. A forest-mystical, romantic, cozy home-away-from-home where nature holds you gently and the world gets quiet enough for you to hear yourself again.
