You can roll out of bed, drink a cuppa outside on the patio, do some yoga on the grass, and then catch a bus to go anywhere on the island. Stay for a few nights or months, and you will want to be back.brbrThe Barn is located at the end of the shelled driveway. To access the kitchen door, walk to the grass side of The Barn. The electronic pad works well, alleviating the need for keys.brbrIn 2024, a renovation was completed, upgrading almost every space in the Barn—the new flooring to hold space for the new furniture. My favorite is the full-size sofa that pulls out with a blow-up mattress. Or, a marble top round dining table with four armchairs is in the corner.brbrThe clean look comes from the newly skimmed and painted walls and ceiling holding the new lights. The HVAC cools and heats well. The internet is strong for work and play. The television is mounted to link your home apps and streaming platform.brbrThe brand-new kitchen is beautiful. White marble counters flow over the counters with a white farmer's sink and the four-burner stove. The U-shaped kitchen gives enough room for a few workstations. The full fridge is tucked in the corner. White cabinets above and below highlight the gold streaks through the marble. A combination of convection and microwave makes everything easy.brbrThere are five other windows around the great room, and the window over the sink lets in a lot of light. For privacy, the Roman shades come down.brbrThe open floor plan makes this a great room. The sofa, oversized swivel chair, and two reading chairs create a lovely conversational arrangement around a coffee table. Reading lights are strategically placed.brbrThe circular dining table is in the corner behind the couch, looking past the roses to the white-shelled driveway. A full-sized hutch holds games and books, with space for your items. The black iron circular staircase has wooden slats that look like a piece of art and are functional.brbrThe staircase leads to a front parlor with two low seats that convert into futon-type beds. An antique cabinet holds more books and games. The king bedroom has a dresser, side tables, lamps, and a nice closet. The room has an HVAC system.brbrThe twin bedroom has two twins, a bedside table, and a small hutch for personal items. The closet has enough space. Each bedroom has air conditioning and heat. The king and twin bedrooms have lovely light and beautiful art, including the linens.brbrIt is a five-minute walk to Main Street and all of Nantucket's downtown, two blocks to the bus station and the harbor. They are independent listings unless you want to join them. The barn is a stand-alone building—reach out to rent it in one, two, or all three houses.brbrThe Front house has Nantucket Grey cardboard, white corner boards with a black door, and roses climbing both sides of the handmade cedar trellis. The front and side gardens are full of hydrangeas, roses, and other surprises that pop up throughout the growing season. The lock box is on the backside of the house - Walk down either side of the house to the grassed area with the four Adirondack chairs, picnic table, and grill. The steep center staircase, which has a railing, separates the two living rooms. Each has seating arrangements for chatting, reading, and game-playing, and one has a pull-out sofa bed. brbrThere is a queen bedroom on the back side of the house. The Middle House is a two-story gem two blocks from Main Street and two from the Inner Harbor. The bus station is two blocks away. Ferries are just four and six blocks away. The airport is just a bus or taxi away. If you have a car, we have one parking spot for you. Many, many guests are very happy without one. They walk, bike, bus, or rent a motorized or 4x4 vehicle. There are lots of options. brbrThe outdoor space is shared with The Front House ID# 3421540. It has four Adironkdak Chairs, a grill, and a small picnic table. Each house has beach chairs and umbrellas provided for them. The grass is nice and thick here. The space is not very big, but no one has complained. brbrThe galley kitchen is bright and open. A marble counter allows conversation between the cook and those in the lovely sitting area. There is just enough cooking equipment to make pasta, salad, steak, and egg meals. The four-burner stove, Meile dishwasher, two refrigerator and freezer drawers, and large farmers' sink make this an easy place to work in. Three stools on the counter make this a great workspace. brbrThe living room and kitchen are downstairs. Two high-back chairs and a seat are centered around a coffee table. A smart television is mounted in this area. The loveseat opens up to become a pull-out bed. brbrThe stairwell brings you upstairs to an open bedroom without a door. The two windows' water side allows the light to come in, and black-out shades make it lovely to sleep in. There is an eve in this upstairs bedroom where the bed lives. It's perfect for two end tables, a dresser, and a queen bed. A small closet is tucked in the corner. brbrThe upstairs bathroom has bosch washer and dryer on one end and a glassed in shower in the other. The bathroom was rebuilt in 2023 with pebbled flooring in the glassed-in shower. There is a new vanity with a single sink and mounted magnifying mirror. We love our house and live & work here off-season so we've made sure it has all the creature comforts one would expect, including 2 new King Size luxury mattresses, High Speed Internet (1 to 2 GBs), a Playstation 5, 55 TV, Large Deck, High End MHP Gas Grill, a level 2 Chargepoint electric car charger, air conditioning (mini-splits) and more. We also have a large fenced back yard (should you have dogs) which the back deck overlooks. brbrWe're two houses away from the Linda Loring Nature Preserve which has a private path through rolling fields to 40th Pole Beach. Our neighborhood is surrounded by tall pine trees so at night, you hear the gentle breeze whooshing through the branches along with the sound of ocean waves. It is serenity at its finest, especially when sitting out on the back deck, staring up at the pitch black starry sky. You'll also likely see many deer and bunnies that make the nature preserve their home.brbrThe house is on a quarter acre fenced lot should you have dogs (or kids) you'd like to let play outside. It's on a 2 acre grove - sort of like a cul-de-sac with woods at the center - so you'll see kids riding bikes in the street or people walking their golden retrievers.
