The whole town is located on a steep hillside, so be aware that you will have to walk up and down! The property is in the upper part of the town. It takes around 10 minutes to walk to the lakeside restaurants and the pier. Please note that the ancient streets are narrow, there are many stairs, and not everything is accessible by car.brbrGETTING AROUNDbrGuests who do not arrive by car can use public transportation to get around. Sommaruga in 1900.Now beautifully restored this architectural pearl stands over 3 floors on top a hill overlooking the Lake Como. Villa Castiglioni is located between Villa D'Este five stars resort and Villa Oleandra owned by a Hollywood star George Clooney.The rental property occupies the whole upper ground floor( 220 sqmt), and a garden level floor( 76 sqmt).It is very private as the quests enter from the private garden overlooking the lake .The other two apartments in the villa have the entrance from the back yard and use the elevator .There are second homes, used mainly during the weekends.br The rented LUXURY GROUND LEVEL APARTMENT has 2 bed rooms( queen size bed in the master bed room )+ 2 twin beds which can be joined together, extra long beds), 2 spacious and lavish bath rooms, one with a hot tube Teuco and the second one with a power shower Teuco,80sqmt living- dining room , and a fully equipped kitchen. There 2 more sofas in the living room. The whole property is air conditioned except the 2d bed room which has a direct access to the terrace and is equipped with a last generation fan. In the ground level apartment you will also find a 3d bed room with2 twin beds, 3d bath room , wellness room with TECNOGYM equipment, laundry /ironing facilities .This apartment is also airconditioned. The Interior design of this property was made by a renowned studio of Milan. brThe outdoor features a panoramic terrace for outdoor dining with a crystal table for 8, a private garden with a hot tube for 4, HEATED BY SUN ,sun beds and umbrella. During the hot summer months the temperature in the jet tube is no less than 30-35 degrees C. brThe whole property has a private access from a manicured garden facing the Lake Como. THE CLOSEST RESTAURANT OSTERIA 20 IS IN 5 MIN WALKING FROM THE VILLA. Tennis courts and golf corse are located in a short distance, a ferry dock and a bus stop are also at a walking distance from the property. The villa seats on top a hill in 100 mt from the lake shore . The closest public beach is at a walking distance. Also there are pedestrian paths with breathtaking panoramic views, just in front of the gate of the villa.brbr

Tickets can be obtained from the driver (cash only) or in designated places (see their website). The bus stop is a 5-minute walk down the stairs leading to the big road. Taxis are also available, but not easily attainable in the region.brMany lakeside towns can be reached by ferry. Tickets can also be bought online on the Navigazione Laghi website.brFrom Como San Giovanni station, there are regular trains departing to Milano Centrale and Switzerland (Lugano, Bellinzona, Locarno). From Como Nord Lago, there is a train connection to Milano Cadorna.brThe nearest airports are Milano Malpensa, Milano Linate, and Orio Al Serio in Bergamo. Tap water is also drinkable. You can carry your own refillable bottle!brIf you are looking for a relatively easy hike in the area and want to enjoy mountain views anyway, Lake Como Greenway is an easy-to-follow trail that doesn't require too much walking uphill. It connects the little towns from Colonno to Griante. A bus will take you to the starting point in Colonno.brAnother nice hike in the area is the Via Verde which connects Laglio to Moltrasio.brLook for traditional restaurants where you can try local foods such as Lake Como fish dishes.brIn Italy, many shops (especially the little ones) and services are closed in the middle of the day, so be careful to plan your shopping accordingly.brLake Como is one of the deepest lakes in Europe and the deepest in Italy. Swimming and diving are prohibited in many areas and can be dangerous. For those who wish to dwell in the water, however, there are some options. Look for the nearest “lido”.brLido di Bellagio and pebbly San Giovanni beach will be waiting for those who wish to travel and explore the beautiful town of Bellagio which lies in the middle of the two Larian branches. Locals and visitors also enjoy travelling to Nesso where the bravest swimmers can jump into the lake from the ancient Roman bridge near the waterfall.brLake Como is located in a mountainous region. The surrounding pre-Alps might not seem very high, but the climate is nevertheless affected by the nearby mountains, and temperatures can change quickly.
