In the private panoramic garden of 256 square meters is a hot tub for four guests. The deck is furnished with sun beds and deckchairs. Many activities are available nearby, such as water sports, golf, tennis and great shopping.brThe closest train station is in Como, just 15 minutes away; you can be in Milan in 1 hour by car or cross the border to Lugano, Switzerland, in just 40 minutes. Just across the Swiss border is Foxtown, a designer outlet village with Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci and Ferragamo outlets. This is a no smoking property. No pets are accepted.brbrAn imposing iron gate gives access to the main villa. Around its back there is the garage and the entrance of the two upstairs units. Villa Liberta is private and independent, it develops on the whole main floor and has an independent entrance from the garden set in the facade of the villa, overlooking the lake.brThere is also a second access in the back of the house, which is shared with the other two units. All the rooms on the main floor of the house, the living room and the two bedrooms, have direct access to the comfortable patio. On the left side of the house there is the lavish 80 sqm living room with dining area featuring a wooden floor with underfloor heating, Venetian stucco walls, elegant sofas and armchairs, large flat screen TV with satellite channels for both Sky USA and Russian TV and Bose surround sound system. The living room is elegant and full of light and benefits from the spectacular view of the lake and surrounding mountains. Next to the living room, the fully equipped kitchen, with all modern appliances including granite work surfaces, double oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer. From the living room, a corridor leads to the two bedrooms.brbrOne bedroom has two twin beds and flat TV with Sky programs. The two twin beds can be also joined together. This bedroom is not air conditioned, but has access to the patio. Guests can use the full-sized bathrooms with a Teuco power shower located just in front of the room. The second bedroom, the master bedroom suite, has a double bed, silk tapestries, hand-painted ceilings and windows providing views out over the lake. Ensuite full–sized bathroom with Teuco ultrasonic Jacuzzi tub 44.brbrDownstairs, the garden level unit can be accessed directly from the garden or from the hallway through a marble staircase. This independent unit with double access is also air conditioned. Although comfortable, cozy and very private, it is not as luxurious as the main one. It features a fitness room, a plasma TV, a laundry room (washing machine and dryer, ironing board with iron), a bathroom with shower, a twin bedroom with beds that cannot be joined together.brbrThe property has air conditioning in all the bedrooms except in the second bedroom on the main floor which is equipped with a last generation cooling unit (fan). brbrPlease note there is another apartment on the second floor and another on the third floor. If going uphill, the road continues up to Monte Bisbino for those wishing to face an adventurous hike into nature, enjoying breathtaking views of the entire first branch of Lake Como.brbrbrbrGETTING AROUNDbrbrFor the guests' convenience, we suggest to arrive by car.brbrTraveling to and from Cernobbio is also quite easy with public transport. There is an ASF Autolinee bus stop right next to the property, and numerous bus lines can take you to Como city and other lakeside towns. Tickets can be obtained from the driver (cash only) or in designated places in Cernobbio or Como. Please note that the buses don't run very often and services stop at around 10 pm! Taxi rides are available, but not easily attainable in the region.brbrAnother option is to take the ferry from the pier at the lakefront and travel to Como and other nearby locations. Timetables and tickets are available on the Navigazione Laghi website.brbrFrom Como, it is easy to travel to Milan and Switzerland (Lugano, Bellinzona, Locarno) by train. There are also public ferries traveling to other lakeside towns from the pier in Como center.brbrThe nearest airports are Milano Malpensa, Milano Linate, and Orio Al Serio in Bergamo. The walk takes less than an hour. Take the big road till Villa Olmo, and then there is a lakeside pedestrian path.brbrTo travel and walk around Lake Como, especially in the little towns, comfortable shoes are a must.brbrThere are many public drinking-water fountains in the little towns, and the water is safe to drink unless stated otherwise. Tap water is also drinkable. You can carry your own refillable bottle!brbrFrom Cernobbio, there are many nearby hiking options in the woods – even to Monte Bisbino.brbrIf you are looking for an easy hike in the area and want to enjoy mountain views anyway, Lake Como Greenway is an easy-to-follow trail that doesn't require too much walking uphill. The Greenway goes through the little towns from Colonno to Griante. From Cernobbio, you can get to the starting point in Colonno by bus. Another pleasant and laid-back hiking path in the area is Via Verde which connects Moltrasio to Laglio.brbrIn Italy, many shops (especially the little ones) and services are closed in the middle of the day, so be careful to plan your shopping accordingly.brbrLake Como is one of the deepest lakes in Europe and the deepest in Italy. Swimming and diving are prohibited in many areas and can be dangerous. For those who wish to dwell in the water, however, there are some options. In Cernobbio, the lakeside Lido has a swimming pool. In nearby Moltrasio, there is a little beach. In Como city, there is an outdoor pool near Villa Olmo, but swimming in the lake is mostly not recommended or forbidden. Locals and visitors also enjoy traveling to Nesso where the bravest swimmers can jump into the lake from the ancient Roman bridge near the waterfall.brbrLake Como is located in a mountainous region. The surrounding pre-Alps might not seem very high, but the climate is nevertheless affected by the nearby mountains, and temperatures can change quickly.
