Stayed Oct 10, 2024My biases are that I love older architecture. I would guess that this villa is well over a 100 years old and they have maintained the character while modernizing the kitchen and bathrooms. The views are beautiful. It did have a few minor issues that I would expect with an older villa which in no way affected our stay

Stayed Aug 17, 2024Our family (we grandparents 65 & 76, our two daughters and spouses and 4yo granddaughter) from USA and UK absolutely loved the villa and our stay! Bedrooms were large and well decorated, bathrooms ample, plenty of towels and household basics which we really appreciated. The pool was amazing! The view is amazing! The property manager, Maria, was so responsive to any question or issue, an experience we often do not get at other VRBO properties. We highly recommend this property without hesitation, however be aware that it is on 3 floors and there are a lot of stairs so guests need to be very mobile. Also, multiple fans provided but no a/c or window screens (Americans this for you!). The pizzeria just down the street is fabulous—a must do. The ferry system is extensive and easy to navigate, though parking can be a challenge to find—give yourselves plenty of time. There is no ferry stop in Lagilo but is only a few miles away. Recommend getting a car or two depending on size of your party. Parking is ample at villa but tight to turn around, so get smaller cars if possible. We all agreed, it was the most beautiful setting we had ever vacationed at. Hard to leave but our heats are full of wonderful memories.

Stayed Jul 23, 2022We had an absolutely wonderful stay here! The view of Lake Como is magnificent. The pool was the perfect place to cool off at the end of the day. Maria was a excellent communicator and gracious host. She was very quick to respond to questions by text. The house is grand and historical, but with updated kitchens and baths, good wifi, and laundry. It is very private with lovely grounds and outdoor spaces. Our extended family of 9 found it the perfect size--plenty of bedrooms to spread out, and indoor and outdoor gathering spaces large enough for all. Laglio is a charming tiny town with a few great restaurants and a small pebbly beach. It has no ferry stop, which makes it quieter and less touristy than most other towns. It is an easy car ride to nearby towns with ferry stops and shopping. We spent time in Argegno, which has a small cable car up to a panoramic view and hiking trails, Lenno, which has a lovely beach, and Menaggio, which has shopping and a quick ferry to Bellagio and Varenna. The only downsides of the house: it's on the main road, which was noisier than we expected, especially at night. And during our visit, there was a house being built across the street with a large crane that operated during the day. That construction looks like it should be finished soon, though!
