Cabin

Private lakeside A-frame cabin w/ hot tub, beach, docks, games... 4 season fun!

Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, United States

Come stay in Idaho paradise at the locally famous, downtown adjacent CDA A-frame cabin by the lake! Built in 1962 as a roadside curio business named the Apache Rock Shop, it was transformed in 2018 as fun four season vacation rental now known as Eagle Outpost.brbrEnjoy one of the few truly private lake properties with beach & docks along the beautiful northeast section of Lake Coeur d' Alene. Arrive via a scenic lake route, just an easy 10 minute drive from downtown. Few lake rentals exist in this desirable area, most are far drives from downtown, accessed by highways down the east and west sides of the lake. Stay here if you like being close to all the great things that CDA has to offer. We're rideshare friendly too! brbrDo something different than the typical stay at an average house in a packed residential neighborhood - remember this is amazing north Idaho! Your neck of the woods spans over an acre from road level lake views to 200ft of private access lakefront - all yours to explore. Have a campfire with friends and family in our basalt firepit area or in the beach firepit, watch eagles soar, have a soak in the luxury hot tub while taking in amazing sunsets, take a bike ride with provided bikes on the Centennial Trail out front, play at the beach and dock area with all the toys (some are seasonal) all day long... and so much more. Take a look at our reviews, and realize how many amenities you'll find here - in fact you may just find you don't need to go anywhere but here :-) brbrFrom late May through mid-October (weather permitting) enjoy our awesome water toys - a massive water trampoline with attachments, 4 SUP's, inflatable rafts and kayaks, two 3-seater canoes, two solo kayaks, over a dozen lifevests of all sizes, masks and snorkels, fishing poles, and more! Also enjoy the BBQ, firepit, tables and chairs plus umbrellas on the beach. If adventurous, you can use the hard watercraft anytime of year including winter as the lake is deep here and won't freeze, plus the dock is designed for all-year use. brbrAlso available are his and her bikes and kids bikes for the Centennial Trail. Bringing young kids - there are bike trailers too. And having ample property, in addition to biking and lake fun, we have a variety of seasonal outdoor games - Frisbee golf, cornhole, horseshoes, tether ball, snowshoes and cross country skis, and other fun stuff as the list keeps growing. In fact if you think of any toys or amenities we don't currently have (ebikes, snowbikes, rental boats, etc) please ask and I'll try to find a way to get them, or at the very least help direct you where to go. brbrEagle Outpost is perfect for just about any traveler, from an artist's solo retreat, to a romantic couple's getaway, to group gatherings. SPECIAL NOTE FOR LARGE GROUPS - you will likely need to bring or rent RV's given limited indoor space and single bathroom. Also a per-person fee applies beyond 4 guests, automatically calculated after choosing the total number of guests and before your booking confirmation, plus your current quote should reflect it . In addition to the A-frame cabin and seperate bunkhouse, there are 2 RV parking spaces on a 40x40 level gravel pad, plus a 200 foot long pull-through driveway that can accommodate a few more RV's. Large groups please inquire before booking, as I can help with details and with arranging rentals. Over the years we've generally found that between the cabin and bunkhouse that 10 people are comfortable with the amount of beds and the single bathroom, especially in summer when you'll be lake swimming in clean water most of the time, and we put out an outdoor shower and simple toilet too which helps take pressure off the single cabin bathroom. brbr*** PLEASE NOTE that the main cabin bedroom is an open mezzanine. It feels very private as guests below can't see you, but take this into consideration if staying with others. And note the size of the cabin, it's 642 sqft with loft but feels more spacious thanks to the open floor plan and soaring ceiling. Also note that guests beyond two persons will need to consider the lack of traditional bedrooms. We have two comfortable twin daybed couches, each with pull-out twin trundle beds underneath, both located in the living room. Then there's the detached bunkhouse that contains a full loft bed, full adjustable massage bed below, a full sofa sleeper, and a twin sized futon. Bunkhouse use does have an added $50 cleaning fee in the off-season. If you have a booking beyond 2 people and want to consider it, please let me know at the time of booking ***br brIMPORTANT LAKE NOTICE - there is a public road (Coeur d'Alene Lake Dr) between the cabin and lake, and a 80' tall lake embankment with trail before the beach. The pathway is a little steep, including stair sections (70 stars total, see pics), so please be in average physical condition and watch the little ones if taking advantage of the lake and docks. It's not too bad, I go down it often with family and friends including young and old, just be aware of it. Also the road that leads to the cabin - CDA Lake Dr - can get busy depending on time of day and season, though there is no through traffic as it dead ends less than a mile from the cabin. No gates or fencing installed yet around the perimeter, so watch the kids and any pets during your stay. brbrPET NOTICE - We are dog friendly, but ALL dogs require pre-approval, and come with rules and are subject to a $50 pet fee per animal if approved. ALL other pets please inquire. No cats, sorry :(brbrFor activity lovers, north Idaho is an amazing four season playground for watersports, hiking, biking, atv riding, fishing, gem finding, hunting, skiing, snowmobiling, etc. Down-time activities include a growing list of excellent restaurants (including Tony's on the Lake just walking distance from the cabin!), bars, music venues, coffee houses, and a wide variety of shops. Information buffs can explore the area's rich history in forestry, mining, and transportation via some great local tours and museums. Other major attractions nearby include Silverwood theme park and the year-round Silver Rapids indoor waterpark. The possibilities are endless! Reach out beforehand and let me know what you're interested in, or let me help you create an itinerary - I know this area and its people and businesses very well, and promise to help make your vacation unforgettable :)brbrThanks and please reach out if you have any questions at all. This is a unique property and bound to be a few. Thank you :-)

Luxury CDA downtown Fernan lakefront retreat dock teepee spa sauna game room

Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, United States

Find yourself in north Idaho paradise at this upscale, stylish lakefront home. Located on the sizeable 423 acre Fernan Lake, which feeds into massive Lake Coeur d'Alene. Fernan Lake Village is a great little town, adjacent to the eastern end of downtown CDA. The best restaurants and other fun are a short walk, bike ride or drive away. Or with all the amenities found here, you may just stay in! From a chef's kitchen to canoes to the hot tub and teepee and game area - enjoy your next resort retreat! PLEASE NOTE - for now, this home is for monthly rentals only. Please inquire if you want to stay for shorter periods in the coming months, as I'm working to secure a vacation rental permit. brbrStay at a home unlike nearly every other house in Coeur d'Alene. Custom built in 2002, it takes advantage of incredible north Idaho surroundings that signify you've left the hustle behind and entered into your own private Idaho. Right after you've stepped through the custom glass etched front door into the grand hall enterance, you'll know you've landed somewhere special as eclectic art and furnishings enhance your sensibilities. Love food and drink - find a chefs kitchen with two ovens and two refrigerators, complimentary coffee and espresso station, free snacks and beverages, and most every kitchen gadget you can think of. Like catered cooking Ask me for a referral to a great private chef. When the time comes, an oversized master bedroom with it's own fireplace and seperate tub with walk-in shower await. When it's social time, get the family and friends together on the huge cloud couch to watch your favorite entertainment on the smart TV, and later any of the room smart TV's. Like playing indoor games any time of year Find pool, ping-pong, dome hockey and even skeeball in the game garage (new listing, pics coming soon, plus other games planned like arcade games and a golf simulator!). brbrReady to go outside I hope so, as this area is home to a huge variety of wildlife. Watch the giant Heron bird who likes to hang out on the dock occasionally, while multiple Osprey hawks hunt for fish. You may also enjoy moose sightings, not uncommon given the lake and the surrounding forest. For the ultimate sightseeing we hope you'll enjoy the fully boatable lake, which unlike Lake CDA stays calm thanks to more shallow depths, wind protection and less boats, perfect for watersports like tubing or water-skiing (if you bring or rent a boat), or take any number of the the complimentary canoes and kayaks out, or maybe just grab the pool floats and other inflatables and lounge about (season permitting.) Kiddos can enjoy the sandy beach area, and adults too! brbrLike outdoor games Play volleyball or badminton on the 30x60 lawn next to the lake, or find other games like horseshoes, corn hole, tetherball, and giant jenga! Like doing something different Spend time in the 14' Sioux Teepee, that includes a sound bowl and other Native American amenities (pictures coming soon). And enjoy the large firepit area next to it, perfect all year round for both cool summer nights and chilly winter nights (dress accordingly.) In winter the lake usually freezes over, and it's time for ice skating, hockey, ice fishing, or just wandering around in wonder exploring this beautiful area! Or maybe go for a cold plunge, then run back to the awaiting oversized 8-person hot tub! A 4 person cedar barrel steam sauna will also be going in next to the hot tub, planned for spring of 2025. brbrWant to explore the local area Take our fleet of bikes out for a nice ride along the nearby Centennial Trail, and maybe head west on a short 1.5 mile ride to the downtown core. Or go east for 5 glorious miles along the northeastern shore of Lake CDA. Like exploring wilderness by car or ATVs Head east down Fernan Lake Road to state forest just a few miles away, on up to thousands of acres of explorable area including the Fernan Saddle. Rental companies are just down the road for a number of toys, from boats to motorcycles to side by sides to snowmobiles. Traveling with trailer or RV - we have a level RV parking pad with full hookups just off the driveway that can accommodate around 30' and under sizes. This works especially well as additional vehicle parking, also for boat trailer parking. brbrLike to travel with furry companions We are dog friendly, but please no untrained animals, and please message at booking to let us know more about your dog(s). There is a $85 pet fee to cover general deep cleaning after pet stays, and we do ask you to do your part and clean any pet hair and yard waste before leaving. Also no going on furniture or beds unless they use the provided pet protectors. brbrConsider this your next resort or retreat stay, without having to book at an actual busy noisy resort, especially when you think about needing multiple expensive rooms for larger families or groups :-). This is not just another stay at a decent house in a packed residential area- this is Fernan Lake retreat!brbrPLEASE NOTE - there are neighbors, and there is a public boat launch next to the home. It's closed after 10pm and very quiet at night, just be aware there may be some activity during the day. This said, Lake Fernan is not a busy lake like Lake Coeur d'alene, so you won't experience too much noise even in the peak summer season. ALSO NOTE - IN RECENT YEARS FERNAN LAKE, LIKE OTHER LOCAL SHALLOW LAKES, HAS HAD BLUE-GREEN ALGE BLOOMS IN PEAK SUMMER, which when occurring it's recommended not to go swimming, especially for pets. Please visit the Idaho DEQ website for further info, or send me an inquiry. In any case, Fernan Lake is not really known as a swimmers lake given it's 25' maximum depth and mostly muddy bottom with some lakeweed growth in shallow areas. I've personally swam in it many times as have my young kids, many days out of every year are perfectly fine, plus the house has a nice rocky beach approach area that stays mud-free for a few feet of depth, perfect for kids to wade in (there's even a fountain out there for playing under on hot, alge-free days.). The deepest depth at the end of the dock averages around 4', so diving isn't recommended and most swimmers will touch the muddy bottom. It's not a big deal to many, and if feet do get muddy there is an outdoor shower just above the beach. For the ultimate swimming beaches, I recommend Lake Coeur d'alene which has a mostly rocky bottom with good clear water and some sandy beaches, such as the great CDA public beach just a few miles from the house. Or possibly choose my CDA lake cabin rental for the ultimate lakeplay experience - Airbnb.com/h/cdacabin. Finally - many ongoing efforts are being made to rid Fernan Lake of any future alge outbreaks, and who knows it may be under control by summer 2025, though for now it's book at your own risk if swimming is the main reason you want to stay here in late summer. Please contact me if you have any questions about this issue, or with any other questions in general. Thanks!
