As you enter the home through a coat room/foyer on the main level, you will pass through a galley-style kitchen with quartz counter tops and stainless appliances. The kitchen opens into a pinewood paneled dining room and great room overlooking the lake through floor to ceiling windows. A gas-burning fireplace in the great room completes this cozy, Northwoods scene. Also on the main level is a private master bedroom/bathroom suite with a king-sized bed. An additional full guest bathroom is provided on the main level. Above the main level is a loft that looks out over the lake. Two futon couches are provided in the loft. The lower level of this home has a den with a gas fireplace and LED TV, two bedrooms, and a third full bathroom. One bedroom has a queen bed. The other bedroom has full/full bunk beds that the kids are sure to love. Walk out of the den through the patio door to a landscaped terrace with a charcoal grill and a fire pit and beautiful Planting Ground Lake in the background. From the terrace, a sloping path lined with landscaped timber steps leads to the lake and the boat dock. The fishing is excellent right off the pier!brWe provide: 8 sets of towels and bedding, basic pots and pans, dishes and utensils, garbage bags, toilet paper, a few rolls of paper towels. When I bring my friends up to visit, they all think our living room is right out of the 1981 movie On Golden Pond. And yes, this has been the setting where multi-generations gather and grow together. The original structure was built in 1920, and has been doubled in size and been modernized several times. Comfort has not been sacrificed for style. With a spacious updated kitchen, 7 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, everyone is your group of 14 will be comfortablebrbrThere is a large family dining room which seats 12. This has been the site of many delicious meals followed by interesting family discussions. There is room for every perspective at the table. If your group is larger, we also have a table on the front porch that can seat 4 more. The front porch is also a peaceful place where we gather together before and after dinner to watch the sun set or read quietly. There is a library with a wall full of books to choose from. brbrWater activities are the main attraction in the summer, as we are part of the famous Three Lakes Chain of Lakes. Lots to explore by motorboat, kayak, or paddle board. We love checking out the eagles’ nest two bays over or heading to breakfast in the boat at Sunset Grill. Then we go the opposite direction in the boat to Pine Isle for lunch or dinner. After eating we play a little volleyball at Pine Isle. The area has much more to offer (golfing, hiking, biking, fishing, tennis or pickle ball). On rainy days we play bridge, spoons & charades. The “cottage” is located on two lots and has water on three sides. It is on the Three Lakes Chain of Lakes and there are two marinas reasonably close (Three Lakes Marina/Big Stone Lake and Watercraft Sales/Island Lake), so boat rental should not be a problem.brbrThere are 2 swimming areas, one on the bay and one off the channel, so you can catch the morning sun or the afternoon sun. If swimming is not your thing, the 2 wooded lots offer lots of places to play. The kids build forts out of downed branches or “fairy forts” with pools next to the water. And then there is always fishing off the front pier in the early morning or around sunset. I can’t even begin to tell you what the stargazing is like!!!! That comes after the evening campfire and s’mores. The 200 ft shoreline and swimming area is sand that gradually slopes to be about five feet deep at the end of the pier. The large deck outside is over 1,200sq ft and overlooks the lake providing a great place to relax. The deck has a bar rail that allows you to pull up a stool and enjoy dinner and drinks looking over the lake. Cook amazing dinners over a large pellet grill before serving your guests at a large teak table with plenty of seating to enjoy meals outside. At night, enjoy the comfortable sofas and chairs and gather around the gas fire pit. Come cooler times of the year, you can stay inside and have just as much fun. Little Fork Lookout is a six-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bath cabin that has two primary bedrooms making it accommodating for multiple families. This clean and cozy home offers 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, with an additional bunk bed for extra sleeping space. A cool and peaceful retreat, this lake house is a great place to call home base while you're exploring the largest chain of inland lakes in the world! brThe layout of the home is the classic walk-out cabin style. On the main level is an open concept living room, dining room and kitchen with wrap-around windows highlighting the beautiful view of the wrap-around deck overlooking Little Fork Lake. Also on the main level is the master suite with a queen bed and private bathroom, a second bedroom with a queen bed, and another full bathroom. On the lower level you will find the den, a bedroom with a double bed, and another full bathroom. The den on the lower level of this home has an LED Smart TV (internet TV only), comfy furniture, and an extra full/twin bunk bed. Walk out of the den through the glass patio doors to a patio area and a sloping path lined with landscaped timber steps that lead to the lake and the boat dock. The lakefront is level with a sandy bottom and very gradual depth change, perfect for swimming. The fishing is excellent right off the pier.brWe provide: 8 sets of towels and bedding, basic pots and pans, dishes and utensils, garbage bags, toilet paper, a few rolls of paper towels.
