Complete terms regarding the guest verification are provided in the lodging agreement, and can be provided sooner upon request.brbrSNOW-INS: During the winter, four wheel drive, snow tires/chains, and a car with good clearance are HIGHLY recommended in the event of a snow storm or heavy rain, as there is a good chance that a significant snow storm could restrict access in and out of the cabin. You need to use good judgement as to whether to cancel a trip before it begins or leave the cabin early.brbrBUGS: This is a cabin in the woods--that means there are lots of bugs, especially in the summertime. Even if you are careful some of those bugs will find their way into the cabin. The best way to minimize the number of bugs inside is to keep doors and windows closed at all times. Please also carefully clean up the kitchen every night and securely package up all food.brbrSMOKING: Smoking is never allowed inside the cabin or on the decks. You may smoke outside as long as you clean up after yourself. You may not litter cigarette butts on the deck, in the yard, or anywhere else--butts must go in the trash after they have cooled off.brbrSHEETS: At the end of your stay you will be asked to strip the sheets off the beds that were used and leave the sheets on top of the beds.brbrPOOL SEASON: The pool is now open for 2026 (as of 4/15/26) and will remain open through the end of October. Thanks for understanding—we look forward to hosting you and your pup!brbrbrbrLonger StaysbrbrFor stays of 14 nights or longer, guests will be asked to e-sign a rental agreement prior to arrival. This agreement helps us comply with local requirements while protecting the property, and will be sent in advance for review.brbrbrbrPlease note: For the safety of all our guests and furry friends, Jefferson County requires that any pets brought to the property be up to date on their rabies vaccination.brbrbrbrOur cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!brbrbrbrWhether you’re interested in hiking, history, fishing, or simply relaxing in a peaceful mountain setting, there’s something for everyone nearby offering a mix of outdoor activities, historical sites, and local charm! Here are some of our favorite points of interest:brbrbrbr1. Harpers Ferry Historic District (distance from house - 18 mins): Stroll through the Historic District, with its cobblestone streets, old brick buildings, and charming shops. The district is a step back in time, with preserved 19th-century architecture. The Harpers Ferry Train Station is also a noteworthy stop if you love history and old railways. Feeling adventurous Harpers Ferry has a haunted past, and there are ghost tours available in the evenings. You can explore the darker side of the town's history, visiting old churches, graveyards, and other eerie spots.brbrbrbr2. Appalachian Trail (distance from house - 10 mins): Runs through Harpers Ferry, and the town is often considered the psychological halfway point for thru-hikers. If you're into hiking or nature walks, you can take a short hike to see breathtaking views of the Potomac River and the surrounding mountains.brbrbrbr3. Jefferson Rock (distance from house - 20 mins): Located within the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, Jefferson Rock is a scenic viewpoint named after Thomas Jefferson, who visited the area in 1783 and admired the view. It’s a short hike to the top, where you’ll get a fantastic view of the rivers and surrounding landscape.brbrbrbr4. Tour the Local Wineries & Breweries (distance from house - 20 mins): Home to a number of local wineries and breweries. Stop by Breaux Vineyards or The Harpers Ferry Brewing Company for a relaxing afternoon of wine tasting or craft beer sampling.brbrbrbr5. Catoctin Mountain Park (distance from house - 50 mins): A bit farther out, Catoctin Mountain Park offers great hiking opportunities with views of the surrounding landscape. It's a more rugged park with excellent trails for varying skill levels, including the Catoctin Mountain Trail and Blue Ridge Trail.brbrbrbrHarpers Ferry is a blend of adventure, entertainment, history, and nature. Whether you’re into hiking, kayaking, history, or betting on the slots, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in this beautiful, historic area.brbrbrbrWe’d love to host you!brbrbrbrThe Neighborhood:brbrWeather dependent, AWD is recommended but not necessary.

Rocky Ridge - Cabin w/ Hot Tub & Heavenly Views!

Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, United States

MOUNTAIN MAMA VACATION HOMES & CABINSbrbrYou will not find another cabin this unique! Pieces of an old church in Baltimore were salvaged and given a new home in this cabin sanctuary. Stained glass windows and marble abound, but you will be forgiven if the sweeping views of the Shenandoah Valley are what catch your eye most. The house is spacious, with many places to gather inside and out. Wrap up your days sitting around the fire pit and watching the sunset over the valley. You can't beat it!brbrABOUT MOUNTAIN MAMA VACATION HOMESbrMountain Mama is a professional vacation rental company in the Harpers Ferry area. We are on mission to help family and close friends spend unplugged time together creating memories they will treasure. Harpers Ferry is a still-hidden gem and we can't wait to share it with you!brbrIf you want to explore, Appalachian Trail access is less than a mile up the road, historic Harpers Ferry is just a 25 min drive away, and Virginia wine country is just next door. brbrDRIVING DISTANCESbrHarpers Ferry (town and national park) - 25 minbrRiver Riders - 25 minbrHarpers Ferry Brewing & Adventure Center - 25 minbrLoudoun County vineyards - 20 minbrCharles Town - 20 minbrMountain Lake Club - 5 minbrKeys Gap (A.T. access point) - 15 minbrbrWashington, DC - 1 hr 20 minbrBaltimore - 1 hr 25 minbrDulles Airport - 55 minbrbrBEDROOM LAYOUTbrBedroom #1: king bed on main floor with en suite bathroom. This means we follow best-in-class guidelines to ensure you have a peaceful, safe and memorable stay with us. We care a lot about maintaining good relationships with our community, so we appreciate you following these house rules during your stay.brbrLODGING AGREEMENT: The guest booking the property must digitally sign a lodging agreement immediately following the reservation. The most important terms of the agreement are included below, and the guest may cancel a booking penalty free within 24 hours. If the lodging agreement is not completed with 24 hours then the reservation will be cancelled. The agreement will be sent via text message, so please be sure your phone number is correct before booking.brbrAGE 25 OR OLDER TO BOOK: The guest booking the property must be 25 years of age or older. We reserve the right to request a photo or scan of a government-issued photo ID. The guest who books must stay at the property--you may not book for others if you do not intend to stay at the property.brbrQUIET HOURS START AT 10 PM: Our property's quiet hours of 10 pm to 6 am are required by county ordinance and enforced by local police. If the police respond to a noise complaint, every individual on the property may face a misdemeanor criminal charge and be subject to a fine by the county of $300. Failure to abide by the county noise ordinance will result in the immediate termination of the stay without refund. brbrPast noise complaints have always come from groups of 20-somethings. If you are booking for a group of people in their twenties and you think your group may want to play loud music at any time then do not book this property or cancel your reservation if you have already booked. Find another place for your trip so you do not have your trip terminated early and without refund.brbrNOISE MONITORING AND SECURITY CAMERA: We use devices that measure volume levels throughout the property (like a smoke detector but for noise) and allow us to respond to noise nuisances before the police are called. The devices are triggered primarily by sustained periods of loud music, not things like loud talking or laughter (which is encouraged!). The devices do not record audio and are 100% privacy compliant. We also have a security camera that records the front door and driveway. This allows us to facilitate remote check in and monitor the property between guests.brbrACCIDENT FORGIVENESS: Every stay is backed by our accident forgiveness program. Guests will not be held responsible for damage caused during their stay (up to a maximum of $1,500) if 1) the damage is accidental, and 2) the damage is reported as soon as possible, and by no later than the check out time.brbrPOSSIBLE BACKGROUND CHECK: We reserve the right to use a third-party to verify the guest's identity and check criminal databases to finalize the reservation. Complete terms regarding the guest verification are provided in the lodging agreement, and can be provided sooner upon request.brbrNUMBER OF GUESTS: It is important to have the correct number of guests in the reservation, so please update accordingly if the number changes after you first book. The house comfortably sleeps 8-9 adults, and the number of guests is strictly limited to 13. While the maximum number of guests is 13, that assumes that at least some of those guests are children. The place is really just too small for 13 adults. There are only enough plates, glasses, etc. for a maximum of 13 people, and the septic plumbing cannot handle more than 13 people at once. Only registered guests are allowed to use the home, day or night. Above 8 guests, a fee of $25 per guest per night applies.brbrNO PETS: No exceptions, sorry. Please don't ask whether we can allow your perfectly house-trained, hypoallergenic labradoodle to join because we can't :-)brbrSTEEP ROADS: Please be aware that the roads up to the top of the mountain and the driveway to the property can be very steep. In the snow it can be difficult to access the property. At all other times access is not difficult, but driving on steep mountain roads may make some people nervous. If that sounds like you, it might be better to reserve a property that is not along the top of the Blue Ridge. Steep mountain roads are often what it takes to get incredible views like the ones from this cabin, and those who can manage the drive won't be disappointed!brbrREMOTE LOCATION: Please be aware that this cabin is a good 20 min drive from the nearest full-service grocery store. If you're looking for seclusion, this is it! But if you prefer being close to store then this may not be the place for you.brbrSNOW-INS: During the winter, four wheel drive, snow tires/chains, and a car with good clearance are HIGHLY recommended in the event of a snow storm or heavy rain, as there is a good chance that a significant snow storm could restrict access in and out of the house. You need to use good judgement as to whether to cancel a trip before it begins or leave the house early.brbrEV CHARGER: The house is equipped with a Grizzl-E Level 2 EV charger. It is compatible with most EVs, though Tesla owners will need to provide their own adapter.brbrBUGS: This is a house in the woods--that means there are lots of bugs, especially in the summertime. Even if you are careful some of those bugs will find their way into the house. The best way to minimize the number of bugs inside is to keep doors and windows closed at all times. Please also carefully clean up the kitchen every night and securely package up all food.brbrNO SMOKING: Smoking is never allowed inside the house. You may smoke outside as long as you clean up after yourself. You may not litter cigarette butts on the deck, in the yard, or anywhere else--butts must go in the trash after they have cooled off.brbrSHEETS: At the end of your stay you will be asked to strip the sheets off the beds that were used and leave the sheets on top of the beds.brbrWAIVER OF LIABILITY FOR USE OF THE HOT TUB: By using the hot tub you agree to follow all house rules associated with it and you release the owner of the property and the manager from all liability relating to injuries that may occur while using the hot tub, regardless of whether injuries are caused by negligence.brbrSEPTIC SYSTEM: This house has a septic system. Grease and oil must never be allowed down any of the sink drains. Feminine hygiene products must be thrown away in a trash can and not flushed down a toilet. Never flush solid trash down the toilet or into a sink drain.brbrNO FIREWORKS: Fireworks are not allowed.brbrNO FIREARMS: Guests may not bring firearms or ammunition inside the house. brbrNO ILLEGAL DRUGS: Guests may not possess or consume any illegal drugs on the property, including cannabis.

Complete terms regarding the guest verification are provided in the lodging agreement, and can be provided sooner upon request.brbrNO MUSIC OUTDOORS: This is a quiet, family-friendly riverfront community, not a place to party. Residents and guests alike come here to relax amid the peace and quiet of the river. Because of this, and because sound carries so easily across the flat riverbank, we do not allow guests to play any music outdoors. Other reasonable noise, from children playing outside, for example, is no problem.brbrSEASONAL USE OF DOCK ON RIVER: The floating dock is only placed out during the warmer months (May to October) and will not be available during the rest of the year (November to April).brbrSNOW-INS: During the winter, there is a good chance that a significant snow storm could restrict access in and out of the cabin. The roads are plowed, but not always promptly. 4 wheel drive is highly recommended in the event of a snow storm, and you need to use good judgement as to whether to cancel a trip before it begins or leave the cabin early. brbrNO SMOKING: Smoking and vaping are never allowed inside the house. You may smoke or vape outside as long as you clean up after yourself. You may not litter cigarette butts on the deck, in the yard, or anywhere else--butts must go in the trash after they have cooled off.brbrNUMBER OF GUESTS: It is important to have the correct number of guests on the reservation, so please update accordingly if the number changes after you first book. The septic plumbing cannot handle more than 8 people at once. Only registered guests are allowed to use the home, day or night, and at no time may the number of people at the property exceed 8.brbrPET DOGS: A maximum of two pet dogs are allowed. A pet fee of $50 per pet, per night will apply to the reservation. If the pet fee is not collected automatically during check out then it will be collected afterward.brbrSHEETS: At the end of your stay, please strip the sheets off the beds that were used and leave the sheets on top of the beds. brbrPARKING: There is room for up to 4 cars in the driveway, but if parking more than 2 cars, you will have to box in other cars by parking behind them. brbrBUGS: We have regular pest control to minimize the presence of bugs and mice. However, this is a cabin on the river, and that means no matter what you do there will still be bugs, especially in the summertime. Even if you are very careful, some of those bugs will find their way into the house. You must carefully clean up the kitchen every night and securely package up all food so you do not attract bugs.brbrWAIVER OF LIABILITY FOR USE OF HOT TUB AND/OR RIVER: The hot tub remains open year round. If you use the hot tub it is your responsibility to ensure the water remains chemically balanced and safe to use before you use it. By using the hot tub and/or the river you agree to follow all house rules associated with it and you release the owner of the property from all liability relating to injuries that may occur while using the hot tub and/or the river, regardless of whether injuries are caused by negligence.brbrSEPTIC SYSTEM: This house has a septic system.
