This completely restored German Farmhouse was built in 1920 by Otto Schneider who owned the local grocery and bottling company. Upon entering this historic property, you'll notice it is appropriately named The Stone Well Haus because of the well located in the living room. Although the well was previously located on the back porch, it wasn't uncommon for homes to have indoor cisterns to have access to fresh water. Expertly restored in 2016, the well is now covered and used as an end table and conversational centerpiece in the large open concept living, dining, and kitchen area. With plenty of windows to the back yard, this makes it the ideal place for entertaining both indoors and out.brbrThe house is perfectly furnished throughout with a mix of modern furnishings and the owner's family antiques including a loom built in 1879 and a pie safe made by your hostess's great great grandfather. The master bedroom offers the perfect retreat with an iron king size bed and neutral linens with an en suite bath. Located up the original wood staircase are the other two bedrooms, second full bath, and writer's nook. The second King suite is large enough to be a second master and just as tranquil with a bath right outside the room. Forget Me Not was purchased by new owners in 2014 and they have made amazing changes to an already wonderful home. The house has been professionally decorated and is not only perfect, but fun to see all of the great “finds” they used. Each time you go into a room something different will appear.brbrThe Parisian inspired kitchen is a subtle taupe with pristine white trim. Fully equipped for your cooking needs, the kitchen offers convenience accompanied by inventive style. If you love to cook this will be a wonderful kitchen during your stay. A table for six is perfect for this room and the “perfect” antique chandelier hangs over it. An open hutch showcases an antique collection of plates. In the front of the house is an elegant spacious yet comfy living room with a great sofa and two floral chairs. All are placed to enjoy the large flat screen television with DVD player. These same colors are carried into the master bedroom. A grey tufted King bed is topped with white and red bedding and an assortment of fluffy pillows. The upstairs is a spacious pristine white bedroom full of color and warmth. A queen bed is decked with red, white and blue quilts and spiced with red gingham ruffles and curtains.
