There are several 100t year old maple trees along the roadway of this 2 acre property. It has a shared driveway with lots of space for parking.brThe interior of this home has an eclectic style that screams country charm. The moment you step in the front door you feel at home. The front porch is a perfect spot to put your feet up relax and enjoy the sweet smell of fresh cut grass or sip your morning coffee as you watch the sun rise. A great space to wait out a storm and rain or shine the BBQ is under cover. The huge front yard has lots of room for a family soccer game, badminton or corn hole. We have you covered on those rainy days too with a good variety of family board games.brThis 3 story open concept 4 plus bedroom home has a two bedroom basement apartment with a second kitchen and living area which is ideal for two families or if you have teenagers or grandparents that may want their own space from time to time. There are french doors that lead to the patio in the backyard which is shaded until the latter part of the day. The fire pit area is very private and a great place to star gaze on those clear nights. We provide one bag of wood per booking. Stretch out on the hammock and listen to the songs of our neighbourhood feathered friends or curl up with a good book in a cozy Muskoka chair.brLocated 15 min. from Sauble Beach, 5 min. from the Town of Wiarton, approx. 30 min. to the Town of Lion's Head, Southampton, Port Elgin and the City of Owen Sound. Its 1 hour to the Grotto and Tobermory / ferry to Manitoulin Island. Lots to keep busy, hike the Bruce Trail, bike, canoe, kayak, fish or shop. Groceries are close by as well as a market just north of Wiarton with fresh produce and baking. This classic cottage will be sure to bring back those old school Sauble beach vibes and more importantly create some new memories with your family!br With the Sauble river directly at the back of the property, enjoy your morning coffee or read a book lounging by the beautiful river, or take a short 30 second stroll across the street to the beach to lounge in the sun!br There is a small launch for kayaks or canoes, and a rock wall dock with rope mounts for guests who want to bring along their boats. Situated in the community of Berford Lake, on the Bruce Peninsula nestled in nature with proximity to Sauble Beach and Tobermory to take in the full peninsula experience. brbrThe Cottage is available for year round stays, equipped with the necessities for up to 8 people including 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, A/C, fireplace, dry bar, firepit, gazebo, large decks and a games/rec room. brbrPublic lake access (500M) and snowmobile trails (~2km) close by.brbrbrEnjoy our large backyard equipped with a firepit, large backyard and screened in gazebo. The cottage has a large deck, allowing you to take in the quiet neighborhood and nature. brbrInside, you will find a light and bright living space. brOn the main level is an equipped kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave and essentials for meal prep), living space with satellite TV, three bedrooms ( 1 queen bed, 1 queen bed and a bunk bed with single and double) and full bath with a bath tub. brOn the lower level (recently renovated) you find an additional bedroom (bunk beds including a slide for the kids and a single daybed that converts to a king), another bathroom (walk in glass shower) and a games/rec room with a fireplace, dry bar, fuseball table.brbrFor the spring/summer months:brPublic lake access is located down the street from the cottage, perfect for launching a canoe. A boat launch is also available for a fee.brAcross the lake, approximately 10 minute drive away there a park and the recommended swimming location. There are many options of beaches within a half hour drive on either Lake Huron or Georgian Bay. brbrFor the fall/winter months:brEnjoy the beautiful changing leaves and general slow pace on the peninsula. brWe are a central location for both snowmobiling and cross country trails. Original Oliphant Cottage with Spectacular Sunsets Over Lake Huron

This is an original Oliphant cottage built in 1911. Has been refurbished and made into a 4 season cottage. We are right across the road from the beach and a 2 minute walk to the government docks and marina.There is a boat launch at the marina if you bring a boat or PWC. There is a 10$ fee for launching. We have shallow water with sand to walk out in or swim, kayak, SUP, or canoe out in front of the cottage. With the water down in the lake there is a huge beach out front. You can fish off the government dock. On windy days you can watch or windsurf / kite surf yourself right in front of the cottage. You are located about a 10 minute drive to Sauble Beach. We are an hour drive to the top of the Peninsula to Tobermory and 13 km across the Peninsula to Wiarton on the Georgian Bay. Very central to do whatever outdoor activities you would like or just relax and look over the lake at the cottage.The cottage can sleep up to 6 people as we have a queen bed in the front bedroom and a single bunk bed in the other bedroom. We also have 2 singles in the living room area that is a day bed/couch and a trundle you can pull out from underneath. There is a bbq for outdoor cooking including the propane and we also include fire wood for your outdoor fires. The kitchen is fully stocked for all your cooking/baking needs and we have a drip coffee maker and a Keurig.We have a Eastlink channel selection for the TV. We do have a ROKU for your use and a disc player and some discs for your use also. You may also enjoy having a campfire at night and no need to grab wood - we have wood for you when you arrive. Pets are not allowed - so sorry but we have experienced damage from pets and had to try to fix the cottage quickly and replace furniture before the next renters arrive. We also were having to picking up excrement so that the next renters were not stepping in it. This also allows renters with allergies also, to know they are safe. The Bruce Peninsula is a dark skies environment so star gazing is amazing here. If luck is on your side you may even see the northern lights. brWe live next door at 11 Bay Street so if you have any questions or problems do not hesitate to come see us or call or text if we are not home.
