Loon Lake is pristine, clear lake free of weeds, and is habitat to plenty of fish, turtles and loons. Times of operation vary.brbrThe Town of Kearney is very committed to its recycling initiatives. Recycling bins are provided at the cottage and we advise that you familiarize yourself with the information provided within the cottage regarding the types of products that can be recycled. The fee for each garbage bag dumped is $2.00, there is no fee for recyclables. Only CLEAR GARBAGE BAGS are accepted at the dump – a box is provided at the cottage. It is likely that the attendants will request you to go through the garbage bags if they suspect any recycling materials to be included in the garbage. Recycling and garbage bags must be taken to the dump by the end of your stay. The cleaner bills $200 to remove and transport garbage, recycling and food stuff from the cottage and this charge will be deducted from the security deposit if these items are left behind. We suggest that you plan in advance when to take the majority of your recyclables/garbage to the dump, and then take any remaining garbage with you on your departure date.

The waterfront is weed free with a sandy, private beach and shallow entry - great for kids. There is a clear view of the beach from the cottage. There is also a canoe, peddle boat, 2 kid sized kayaks, with life jackets as well as a floating dock.
