It is bordered by the Haliburton Forest on the north/ease and Algonquin Provincial Park to the north. It is 23 kms long and connected to LIttle Kennisis Lake. Being on the Canadian Shield and spring fed, and with boathouses not allowed, the shore is lush and natural and water is crystal clear and clean.brbrYou will be able to enjoy the spectacular lake view from almost all interior rooms, as well as the screened/glass porch, the large deck off the living room and master, the lake-side deck (we call it the lower deck, part way to the water), our large dock and outside hot tub.brbrThe main floor has a huge, open gourmet kitchen/living/dining space with gas fireplace; three season glass/screen porch with wood fireplace; mudroom; powder room and a lovely master bedroom overlooking the lake with a large ensuite bathroom. In the Haliburton Forest, at the end of our street, in addition to hiking and biking, you can eat at the restaurant, visit the Wolf Centre, and do canopy tours. The marina is a lively place with an outdoor patio offering good food, drinks and music, as well as pickle ball courts! The Marina also offers art classes, camps and lots of special events including occasional weekend concerts!brbrIn winter, enjoy snow shoeing and cross country skiing right from the cottage, either on the lake or in the forest trails behind the cottage. You can also snowmobile from our front door on extensive, groomed OFSC snowmobile trails. A short drive takes you to groomed x-country trails and Sir Sam's ski hill is only about 40 minutes away. The Haliburton Forest also offers dog sledding.
