The beautiful manicured sandy beach is a fantastic place to settle in and soak up the sun or take a romantic stroll along the boardwalk, stopping off for a cocktail and shopping in the unique boutiques. brThe downtown strip - We may be a small town, but that doesn’t mean you won’t have a plethora of dining choices, from swanky restaurants to The Mule, a famous taco joint from Hamilton that’s just opened. brbrWatersports - While in town, make the most of Lake Erie by renting a paddle board, Sea-Doo or fishing boat. A day on the water is good for the soul.brLynn Valley Trail and Falls - Hiking in Norfolk County is beautiful. We recommend taking advantage of the Lynn Valley Trail and seeing the falls along the way. brbrFestivals - Port Dover and Norfolk County host many festivals, but one that has a huge draw each year is the PD13 Motorcycle rally, recurring every Friday, the 13th. If you’re a motorcycle enthusiast or just love a good time, you won’t want to miss it.brbrGetting Around:brGetting here is a breeze. We’re located only 2 hours from downtown Toronto (50 minutes from Hamilton), making us the ideal place for an easy getaway. We recommend coming by car, but if you’re feeling adventurous, you can arrive by bike if you hit the trails from Hamilton to Brantford to Port Dover. br brOnce here, you can ditch your car and take advantage of how walkable our location is to the strip and the beach. But for errands or touring around the countryside, you’ll want to use your car or take advantage of the taxi and car-sharing services.brbrOther Things to Note:brDetails to help your stay run smooth:brbrFor your peace of mind, the property is equipped with exterior cameras, noise monitors, and signal detection to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our property for all our guests.brbrThe Sea accommodates a maximum of 4 guests, including children (please note the suite is not childproof).brbrThe Swell House is a unique 100-year-old historic home, and with all its charm and age may come some quirks, creaks, and noises. brbrPlease remember you are staying in a house, not a hotel. Please treat the space and neighbours with respect. If any problems arise, we will do our best to take action ASAP, but there is no one living on-site 24/7.brbrNo unapproved guests or parties. This is a ZERO tolerance policy; if broken, you will be asked to leave. There is a security camera on-site, and we are able to see if people outside your group are visiting the home. This will result in an IMMEDIATE cancellation of your reservation with NO refund.brbrNoise Policy: Noise level MUST BE MINIMAL after 10 PM. There is a noise level city ordinance, and we can’t have any complaints. Two of the bedrooms have their own ensuite and the third bathroom is located on the main floor. All are meticulously cleaned and supplied with tasteful soaps from a local store, Cottage North that you will find in downtown Port Dover.brbrAll throughout the house you'll find a number of carefully crafted social gathering spots. brbrThe main living area has big beautiful windows with unobstructed views of the lake. You'll find yourself getting cozy on the couches made for two or hanging out at the oversized dinner table playing cards, or board games while taking in views of the water.brbrThen during the summer nights you'll find yourself gathering on the upstairs covered deck, relaxing on the outdoor furniture, watching the gorgeous colours of the sky changing right before your eyes.brbrThe kitchen, complete with organic white quartz counter tops includes everything you would need to make your favourite meal for the family.brbrWhen not enjoying the inside of the home, you can roast marshmallows on the outdoor gas fire pit that overlooks the lake (during the winter as well), or during the spring, summer and fall you can take the steps down to the water, and enjoy 85 ft of lakefront on our large concrete pad.brbrNot only do we offer a beautiful space, but we also make it FUN for the kids with kid packs, activities, board games and even kids robes!brbr**Given the current situation around the world, with Covid-19, we're maintaining a buffer of 24 hours between all reservations.
