The house is located in the beautiful and historic Ridgecrest Neighborhood just 5 minutes from the Albuquerque International Airport. Also located less than 5 minutes away is the University of New Mexico, Kirtland Air Force Base, Sandia National Labs, the VA Hospital, UNM Hospital and Presbyterian Hospital. Military welcome. Also nearby is the historic Nob Hill district where you can find many of Albuquerque's best restaurants and shops to browse. As hosts we can offer advice on the best local restaurants, shops and fun things to do around town. brbrThe house is 1600 sq ft with large green front and back yards all to yourself. This house has a large master bedroom with raised ceilings, vegas, a ceiling fan and a connected master bath. Two more large bedrooms, another full bath, living room with gas fireplace, dining area and a large kitchen make up the interior. French doors open wide to the shaded backyard patio complete with outdoor table and chairs and a fire pit for those wanting a little evening ambience.. A giant elm tree shades the backyard with peach, apple, fig, lilac and juniper trees ringing the outside. Any fruit in season is yours to take. The backyard is walled in with a high gate so it is perfect for those traveling with a dog. The front porch also opens onto a nice lawn shaded by two large ash trees. Enjoy relaxing by the fire pit after a long day of sightseeing or work. brbrThe Ridgecrest Neighborhood is one of Albuquerque's most well known and beautiful areas with large mature trees, grassed medians, many local parks and a quiet and relaxed neighborhood feel. Whether you're here for Balloon Fiesta, Old Town, or visits to historical sites, this home offers a quiet yet central location for your home base. When Art Dekker designed this home in 1954, it was clear he was influenced by the Usonian designs of Frank Lloyd Wright. The home is filled with details like hardwood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, beamed tongue-and-groove ceilings and built-ins in every room. Lovely refreshed landscaping features a large, private flagstone patio on the south side for morning sun, and a small, quiet patio on the leafy north side for afternoon shade. The property is at once simple and complex and will provide a relaxing home base for you as you explore all Albuquerque has to offer. There is is plenty of parking in the driveway and behind the home, as well as on the quiet, dead-end street.brbrAlbuquerque’s North Valley is a hidden gem that offers a rural feel in the heart of the metro area. The Rio Grande Nature Center Preserve and State Park provide access to the Rio Grande bosque and are within walking distance (less than a mile). At the end of our street you’ll also find access to the shady acequia trail along the Duranes lateral. Local casual dining favorites Flying Star Cafe, The Range Cafe and El Patio are 1.5 miles away, and the La Montanita Co-op is just a quick 10-minute walk for any last-minute grocery needs.brbrThe kitchen is fully updated and includes all the appliances, cooking equipment and utensils you’ll need for your stay. The bathrooms retain their vintage charm but are in good working order. Very quiet street with friendly neighbors and several Little Free Libraries nearby if you're in the mood to curl up with a good book.brbrThe casa is decorated in a cozy mid-century modern style and has a newly remodeled bathroom. It's the perfect spot to come home to after a day of working or exploring.brbrFront bedroom has a queen bed and second bedroom has a twin bed with a pull-out trundle. All beds have memory foam mattresses. Each bedroom has a dresser and a large closet for clothing and storage.brbrLarge screen TV in living room. Please note bedrooms do not have TVs. New mini-split units provide both heating and air conditioning.brbrIf you are visiting for more than 30 days, professional monthly cleaning is included with your stay.brbrThere is a 1 bedroom casita in the back yard that is a monthly rental for traveling professionals; however, it is separate from the main home so both units are very private.brbrThe kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, cooking utensils, spices, and everything you need to make a meal. All personal basics are provided, including body wash, shampoo and conditioner, and a blow dryer.brbrNon-smokers only as smoking (anything) is not permitted anywhere on the property. brbrThere are motion-sensor lights and video cameras outside the property for your security.
