Then it was cared for by an Air Force pilot who then went on to get a PhD at University of Minnesota in Agriculture. His thesis topic was effective business models for small farms! There is still an old barn|house on the acre property that served as a little red school house, then the fire house for the town, and now is in the process of also being restored. brbrWHY ARE THERE COTTAGE GARDENS (part of your yard is a garden )brGiven the history of early American and the Victorian era, we have worked to regenerate some of the land to have cottage gardens full of heirloom and heritage vegetables and flowers that are open pollinated. This was known as cottage gardening during the 1920-30s when people (including my grandmother) would grow vegetables and flowers in the yard. brbrthe FUTURE brIn the next few years we are putting together an interactive tour that you can take during your stay so that learning about Victory Gardens, Heirlooms and Americans history with agriculture is fun and part of your stay! We look forward to this once the house is up and running and providing this type of living, historical legacy of American cottage gardens and heirloom seeds. brbrWe hope you enjoy your stay at this beautiful Queen Anne Victorian we have lovingly cared for.
