Open May - November this is a wilderness cabin with beaver, eagles, mink, moose, and silence. We are surrounded by forest all around and our two neighbors are rarely heard from or seen at all. The small river is accessible right out your front door, and kids like to splash, catch and net things!br But so many things to do beckon beyond the cabin property it's almost overwhelming. The Lake Superior Hiking Trail (which runs from Duluth to Canada) is very nearby. Devils Track Lake, a rather large lake has good fishing and swimming is down the road a couple of miles. The galleries, food and music in 'town' are extraordinary. Grand Marais really has become quite a hub for artists of all types. The North House Folk School is a one of a kind craftshop with adult classes and the Gunflint Tavern features local and national talent in a funky intimate atmosphere.br Almost half of the people who stay at our cabin are repeat visitors. When you read our guestbook you can see the fun (and quiet relaxation) unfold for so many, rain or shine.

Deck on the Lake is available to guests.brbrRecently added is an electric fireplace for that comfy feeling after a long day hiking or other outside activities.brbrI am pet friendly. Pets must be kenneled if left alone at all. You must provide your own kennel. Please relieve your dogs often to avoid accidents on my carpets. I charge $100 for damage fee for any and all urine accidents. brbrWe have a kitchen with stove and oven. A stairway provides easy access to the 540ft of rocky beach. In front of Cottage #1 is a fire circle with comfortable seating and a charcoal grill. The front bedroom features a queen bed, a romantic gas stove, and a lakeside patio door. The living room has a decorative gas stove and a picture window looking out upon the lake. It is furnished with a plush futon, 2 wingback chairs, a smart TV with access to the internet (no broadcast TV), a DVD player, and a dinette set. The rear of the cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with a shower, and a bedroom with a full-size bed. This four-season cottage is open all year and has wireless internet access. An artesian well provides excellent water for drinking.
