No house to the north or south for seclusion and privacy.brbrNorth is a cornfield. South is a lot. The road is in the front of the house that is lightly traveled. East is a tree line. In the the morning the front porch is shaded and in the afternoon the back deck is private and shaded. Quiet is a key word with this house. brbrThere is no crime in this area but there are security cameras on the outside of the home for complete security.brbrThe County forced me to put an ADA parking spot in the driveway. The rental itself is not ADA accessible. I believe it is to stifle short term rentals in Indiana. But I own the lot next to the property. If you are worried about parking in driveway you can park in the grass next to driveway if you want to be close to the house. There is a security light on the corner that illuminates the whole driveway. This parking will be marked separately to make it clear where the parking is.

Family Friendly completely remodeled secluded vacation spot near Lake Shafer

This house was built in 1888 but was completely remodeled in 2016 to update all the amenities and to revive the beautiful historical details. This house is situated on 75 acres of woods and farm ground near Lake Shafer in Buffalo, IN. It is approximately 10 miles North of Indiana Beach. It is secluded enough for a much needed get away but located close enough to enjoy all the activities the area has. This house is great for families and for a couples get away. The parking area is large enough for several vehicles as well as a boat trailer. There are several boat launches close by for boating on Lake Shafer or Lake Freeman. If you don't have a boat of your own, there are rental places in the area that rent boats and wave runners.brbrThe house is approximately 1700 sq ft and has 4 bedrooms and 1 bathroom with central A/C. The master bedroom is on the 1st floor and has a queen size bed. The first bedroom upstairs doubles as a TV room, but has a twin size trundle bed that sleeps two. The second bedroom upstairs has a king size bed and the third upstairs bedroom has two twin sized beds. There is also a separate laundry room and office area on the first floor. The kitchen and bathroom are fully furnished with items to get your stay started. We would recommend bringing additional items for longer stays. All linens are provided. This house also has an enclosed front porch great for relaxing. brbrThe majority of the original part of the house still has the original hardwood floors that have been refinished as well as the original wood doors, trim and stairway. This house was built before building codes and sophisticated tools. The original stairway is made of wood and could be considered steep for some. The three upstairs bedrooms are all connected however each have their own door that can be shut for privacy. If you love charm and authenticity, this house is perfect.brbrOutside you will find a gas grill and a fire pit that is great for making memories around. The property also has a creek that runs through it creating a wonderful habitat for many deer and wild turkey (no hunting or ATV's allowed on this property). The property is great for taking walks, riding your bike and seeing nature.
