Hidden Oaks is on the far outer reaches of this small community and has over 150 undeveloped acres that border our back door. Can you say peaceful!!!brbrWhether it is a trip to the beach at Patoka Lake State Park (2.5 miles to the main entrance from the cabin), a spelunking adventure to any one of southern Indiana's magnificent caves (30ish minutes), a trip to Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana (35 minutes away), a trip to Paoli Peaks to ski in the winter (30 minutes away), or a trip to French Lick or West Baden where you can experience world class casinos, golfing, indoor water park, go carting, a train ride through Hoosier National Forest and so much more. Or perhaps you would like to unwind at Patoka Lake Winery (2.2 miles from the cabin's front door). We might add that Patoka Lake Winery has the largest wine slushy bar around! We highly recommend! You might also enjoy dinner at Benny's or any one of the local brews at Patoka Lake Brewing (2.2 miles from front door). The opportunities are endless. brbrOur cabin features 2 decks. Our front deck has just the right furniture to help you unwind and enjoy this beautiful area or start your morning with coffee listening to the birds. Our back deck is furnished so you might enjoy your breakfast or dinner at our picnic table. The back deck is fully screened in to keep all of the flying pests away. Or perhaps you would like to unwind next to your very own bonfire. We have a bonfire area that is furnished with 6 Adirondack chairs. We ask that you bring your own firewood. Please note, one of our neighbors sells firewood for a VERY reasonable price at the entrance to our log home community.brbrOur cabin features hand made log furniture that is out of this world. From your dining experience to your bedroom furniture, you will experience only the best in our home. Our down stairs bedroom features a king sized bed. Our upstairs bedroom has a queen. Check Out This Neat & Cozy Cabin with a Private Hot Tub near the entrance of Patoka Lake. This cabin has 1 bedroom downstairs with a full bed and a loft bedroom upstairs with a Queen sized bed. The kitchen is supplied with basic cookware, coffee maker, and Keurig. The new TV has streaming availability (no cable) but has access to all of the services that you use. The wifi is pretty strong here as we have a booster in the cabin. Cell service is limited in different parts of the cabin, but there is service at the property.brbrOn the covered front porch we have 2 rocking chairs and a gas grill perfect for cooking after a day at the lake. The private hot tub is located on the back deck of the cabin which also has a table, chairs and a firepit to enjoy.brbrThe cabin has a spacious sunroom which is a perfect spot to read a book or play games. brbrThe cabin sleeps 4 in the beds, and could sleep 5 if a child slept on the love seat. Having moved to Southern Indiana 5 years ago, we discovered the Patoka Lake region and the Hoosier National Forrest in 2023. Our log cabin is in the heart of this fabulous place, located in the lush, wooded area of Grant Woods and a 2.5 mile drive to the Patoka Lake State Park, Patoka Lake Brewery, BMF Saloon and Winery. brYou will stay in a cabin that has recently been renovated and is nestled on a hillside in the woods. Fishing, boating and hiking are within a few minutes drive. The cabin overlooks a seasonal stream and sleeps four people comfortably on queen size beds. All linens, pillows, mattresses and towels are provided. brFor outdoor enjoyment, in addition to the full front porch, we have a partially covered deck on the back with a propane fire table and a convertible daybed couch. The uncovered area allows for use of the propane grill and stargazing. The firepit is down a short rock path. brThe kitchen has a range, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, garbage disposal, tea kettle and drip coffee maker. Utensils, coffee, limited spices and stoneware are included. brWatching movies or games on the large screen smart TV can be comfortably done on a leather sectional with recliners and USB ports. An electric fireplace provides additional warmth if needed, although the mini-split provides ample heating and cooling. A quiet air purifier cleans the air of dust, pollen or cooking odors. brThe one private bedroom is on the main floor across from the full bathroom with tub, washer and dryer. The two windows in the bedroom allow for viewing of the woods upon awakening. The other bed is in the loft that overlooks the main room. There is additional space there for other activities, including a desk for remote work, learning and playing games. brLaundry detergent, hand soap, and dish soap is provided throughout your stay. A starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion are also provided. For longer stays, guests will need to supplement these amenities. A hair dryer, iron and ironing board are provided. brParking is available in the driveway to the home. Smoking is allowed on the porch and deck but not in the cabin.brWe provide a complimentary Indiana State Park pass for use during your stay, for free entrance into Patoka Lake State Park. brQuiet hours are 10pm-8am to maintain the charm of this quiet, wooded neighborhood.brThe cabin is located on a private gravel road, only maintained by local residents. Four-wheel drive vehicles are recommended during winter months in case of ice and snow. There is a gas station with a store and two restaurants, offering lunch and dinner (March thru October) conveniently located across from the Winery. There is BMF saloon offering some breakfast and lunch items year round. It is 18 miles to French Lick which features a casino, golf courses, go karts, indoor water park, winery, and other restaurants. We are just 22 miles from Paoli Peaks ski resort and Marengo cave as well. brThe area has limited cell service, but more than adequate free Wi-Fi is available at the cabin.br
