The covered oceanfront lanai runs the full width of the house, so you have a front row seat from which to view sizzling sunsets over the ocean towards the island of Niihau. There are very few actual beachfront houses on the Westside, as most have a road between the house and the ocean. BUT NOT HERE!brbrYou can walk to anything and everything from this location. The Waimea River is just short walk away offering fishing and kayaking opportunities. In less than 5 minutes, you can walk to either of the large grocery stores in Waimea, several restaurants and shops, or take in a movie at the Historic Waimea Theater. Walk in the footsteps of Captain Cook, where he came ashore in 1778 as the first Westerner to come to Hawaii. This is old Hawaii and far from the tourist crowds. Quiet and peaceful with the dry sunny climate that guarantees you the best weather for your vacation. brbrThis lovely “beach cottage” belongs to one of the older families of Kauai. Until recently, it was used exclusively by their large family as a place to get together and enjoy the beach. Newly renovated, they have opened up their home to share with a few lucky vacationers. This may be just the place you have been looking for.brbrThis one story cottage sits on a large oceanfront lot and offers 3 bedrooms, two of which are Oceanside, and all 3 have a/c. There are three full baths, so no one has to wait to get ready to enjoy the day. Life here is meant to be lazy and enjoyed. Take a long walk on the beach, sit in the shade of the covered lanai, or just enjoy a good book waiting for one of those fabulous Westside sunsets. Because we face westward, this is the only part of the island that has a sunset view over the ocean, and what a view this is. This house is spacious enough for 3 couples, a large family, or a couple celebrating their wedding with a wonderful honeymoon. There is a large kitchen, fully equipped to make a gourmet meal at home served at your own private ocean-side table. All the furniture and bedding is new along with an updated kitchen and baths. It’s not likely that you will have a rainy day here on the Westside, but if you want to catch one of those morning football games or watch a movie, you have a new 40'' flat screen LCD television complete with 'High Definition' Cable service! From our condo you can also walk to the Beach Club via a paved trail that goes through a nature preserve with lava tubes and petroglyphs, then meanders through shady, ancient fishponds until you end up at Maka`iwa Bay. It takes about 20 minutes and is a very easy hike - it is also a great for an early morning jog or a lovely sunset stroll.brbrTHE SHOPS AT MAUNA LANIbrFoodland Farms, Tommy Bahamas and other stores are also about a 20 minute walk up the hill to the Shops at Mauna Lani. Foodland Farms has an excellent wine and liquor selection, prosciutto di Parma and other delicacies, and imported cheeses and pates. They also also offer a good selection of prepared foods, sandwiches and sushi, and the fish and meat counter makes excellent fresh poke every day. brbrSnorkel Bob's is also a great place to rent snorkeling gear for your stay. We do have some snorkel gear in the garage -- but we strongly recommend that you let Snorkel Bob's properly fit your mask and fins. There is nothing worse than a leaky mask, and fins that are too tight or too loose. This beautiful and spacious condo at the Palm Villas at Mauna Lani Resort is located on Pauoa Rd about 20 minutes north of Kona Airport. The property was built in 2005 in a small gated community of 44 units on 6 acres that are beautifully landscaped. Palm Villas is a quiet, comfortably decorated 2 bedroom, 2 bath, with a large upstairs loft, set up as a third sleeping space. Located next to the historic petroglyphs park and views of Mauna Kea, guests receive an access card to private parking at the nearby Mauna Lani Beach Club, with white sand beach, lounge chairs and cabanas, excellent snorkeling, and open-air restaurant, Napua. Not only is this a fantastic restaurant for lunch and dinner, but you can also order drinks at the bar —or in to-go cups. Perfect for that afternoon Mai-tai!brbrIdeal for couples, families, or friends, There is over 1400 square feet of living space with a furnished lanai looking over the grounds and pool area. The well equipped kitchen is open to the dining and living areas making meal prep fun. The master bedroom has a king size bed, large master bath with double sinks, separate stand up shower, and large soaking bathtub. The second bedroom has a queen bed located next to the second bath. The loft, which has a great view of Mauna Kea, has a queen bed, sitting chair, dresser, plus a desk area. The unit has a stackable washer and dryer. This is a 2nd floor unit with inside stairs to living areas and bedrooms. brbrA western-facing lanai off the living area is a great place to enjoy your morning coffee or dining, while looking out to the luscious gardens and pool area. A gas BBQ and kitchenette on the lanai is a great place to grill your freshly caught fish!brbrOur unit has a dedicated carport for your parking convenience, a garage space, plus an additional placard for on-street parking within the gated community.brbrGuests have free access to the Palm Villas community waterfall pool, hot tub, and fitness center. Palm Villas is located just a short distance (walkable, if desired) from the Mauna Lani shops, Tommy Bahama Restaurant, Fairmont Hotel, Mauna Lani Resort, Pizza restaurant, a Mexican Food restaurant, Foodland, a well stocked specialty grocery store, and coffee shop.
