The stairs are steeper than modern standards.br* We are in a residential neighborhood, convenient to the hustle and bustle of Savannah's popular tourist areas, but there will likely be some city noises. In addition, horse carriages and tour groups come past the house.br* The townhouse has been updated, but it is over 200 years old so it has character like uneven wood floors and century-old windows.brbr* No pets allowed. br* No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property.br* While we are child friendly, please note that our house is not child-proof. There is no bathtub.br* The townhouse shares a common wall with the neighboring unit, so please be respectful of your neighbors. br* Absolutely no parties.

Dueling Sisters Historic Retreat in Historic Downtown Savannah

Savannah, Georgia, United States

NEW TO VRBO! -Stay in both levels of a legendary 1848 Savannah home—once the domain of Myrle, the champaign loving sister with a easy smile and a sharp tongue. This full townhouse includes 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, porches, and a courtyard where secrets were whispered and biscuits were judged. Two full units, vintage charm, and unbeatable location just blocks from Forsyth Park. Not perfect—but clean, comfy, and full of Southern soul. Some guests say the sisters never really left… but we’ll let you decide.brbr Stay in BOTH Apartments of the Legendary housebrbr4 Bedrooms | 3 Bathrooms | 2 Kitchens | 1 Private Porch | 1 private sundeck | 1 Private Courtyard | Built 1848 | Free ParkingbrbrStep into Savannah’s storybook past and stay in not one, but two full apartments inside the original 1848 home known as The Dueling Sisters Inn — a lovingly restored double sided townhouses with charm, quirks, and just a dash of mischief.brbrThis listing gives you one entire side of the property — both the upstairs 2BR/2BA unit and the downstairs 2BR/1BA flat. Whether you're a family, wedding party, or a group of besties seeking a home with porch-sippin’ soul, this is the perfect place to spread out while staying together.brbrA Tale of Two Sisters...brbrLong ago, this home belonged to twin sisters Mildred and Myrle — raised in Savannah society, sharp as tacks, and stubborn as mules. Their father, a local cotton merchant down on Factors walk on the River -built them two matching townhouses side by side, so he’d never have to choose a favorite .brMildred, the eldest by three minutes, lived on the right side. She was the quiet one — a master biscuit baker, ruthless rose gardener, and the kind of woman who could ruin you with a single glance over her teacup or a silver-tongued joke.brbrMyrle, was a different storm entirely — bold, flirtatious, and known for her champagne-fueled porch parties and scandalous serenades under the Savannah moonlight.brbrThough they claimed to be close, the sisters had their funny, love & vinegar filled spats… and they may still be having them. Guests have been known to report missing socks, flickering lights, or the mysterious smell of gardenias and sweet wine. If you bring your furry family member, you may find them looking at random corners of the room, Coincidence Maybe. But around here, we say: the sisters never really left… they just switched to pranks. (seriously, if the sister's play a joke on you during you're stay- please message to tell us about it!)brbrThe Space – What You GetbrbrYou’ll have the entire left-side townhouse, split between two private units:brbrUpstairs Unit (2BR / 2BA)brbr* Two queen bedroomsbr* Two full bathroomsbr* Bright living room with large TVbr* Full kitchen + breakfast barbr* Private front balcony + back sun porchbr* In-unit laundrybr* Central heat/AC & fast Wi-FibrbrDownstairs Unit (2BR / 1BA)brTwo cozy queen bedroomsbr* One full bathroombr* Living room with TVbr* Full kitchen + dining table for 4 br* Screened-in back porchbr* Private courtyardbr* Original hardwood floors & historic details.brbrEach apartment has its own entrance, so you get privacy and flexibility, and share a shared interior foyer for free movement inside the townhouse between units if desired, but still stay close enough to swap stories over cocktails in the courtyard or biscuits on the porch.brbrMeet Miss Stacy, Our Housekeeper, assistant Innkeeper, & Resident GhostbusterbrYour stay is lovingly prepared by Miss Stacy, our longtime housekeeper and honorary innkeeper. She’s got a kind heart, a quick wit, and a fierce grudge against disappearing washcloths, which she insists are hiding from her. You may find one in a pillowcase, but rest assured — it’s clean.brbrIf you need anything topped off, Miss Stacy or one of us is always just a message away.brbrThe Location – Walkable Savannah CharmbrbrLocated just two blocks from Forsyth Park and nestled in the heart of Savannah’s famed Historic District, the Dueling Sisters Inn offers the perfect launching pad for coffee crawls, ghost tours, historic squares, and long walks under moss-draped oaks, tourist attractions or just a 15 minute stroll to the water front (cocktail in hand is recommended!)brbrFree street parking is usually available right out front. From here, you’re close to everything — but just far enough to enjoy some porch-front peace and quiet. We offer free off-street parking as well.brbrA Few Final NotesbrbrThis home is nearly 180 years old, and she creaks and sighs just like you’d expect. She’s not perfect, but she’s clean, comfy, and full of stories. If you're looking for sleek and modern, this might not be your match. But if you love a little charm, character, and Southern sass — we’d love to host you.brbrGuest accessbrGuests will have private access to the entire left-side townhouse, which includes two fully separate apartments — one upstairs and one downstairs. Each unit has its own entrance, kitchen, living space, bedrooms, and bathrooms, giving your group plenty of room to spread out while staying together.brbrYou'll also have full access to the screened-in back porch, upper sun Porche and front veranda, and the lower courtyard, where the sisters once sipped tea, traded gossip, and maybe (allegedly) hexed each other.brbrFree street parking is typically available right in front of the house. Both units are fully yours — no shared spaces with other guests.brbrOther things to notebrThis home was built in 1848, and she's proudly full of personality. The floors creak, the doors stick, and nothing is quite square — but that’s part of her charm. If you're looking for modern and flawless, this isn’t the one. But if you love history, character, and a little mischief, you’ll fit right in.brbrSome guests say the sisters still play little tricks — a flickering light here, a misplaced sock there. We say: be polite, don’t pick sides, and maybe leave a little wine on the porch.brbrWe happily welcome pets! There is a $100 pet cleaning fee, and we kindly ask that pets stay off furniture.brbrFor stays over 30 days, guests will be billed separately for utilities (electric, water, and gas) based on actual usage.

Charming Garden Flat , Porch, Herbs & History, Walk to historic Forsyth Park

Savannah, Georgia, United States

NEW TO VRBO! -Step into Savannah’s past at The Dueling Sisters Inn. This 1848 garden flat was Mildred’s — the barefoot sister who planted herbs, told stories with biscuits, and left love in every floorboard. Just 2 blocks from Forsyth Park, this 2-bedroom retreat features 14’ ceilings, original pine floors, a screened porch, and private courtyard garden. Originally Mildred's parlor, dinning room, kitchen and trunk room- full of charm! Stay where the wind chimes still whisper—and the house remembers.brbrThat the wind chimes in the courtyard sound different in the morning.brbrAnd that if you whisper a compliment about her biscuits, Mildred might just whisper back.brbrThis is Mildred’s Garden Flat, tucked inside The Dueling Sisters Inn — a pair of 1848 cypress-clapboard townhomes once built by a doting father for his two fiercely different daughters. Mildred (the barefoot gardener, calm and grounded) lived here. brbrHer sister Myrle (the champagne-sipping party girl) lived next door. They shared exactly one space: the front porch — and barely tolerated sharing that.brbrAbout the Inn:brNow lovingly restored into four private vacation units, The Dueling Sisters Inn still echoes with the sass, spirit, and stubbornness of its original residents.brbrAnd if you're sensitive to energy, well... you might feel like you're not alone.brbrSome guests swear Mildred’s presence still lingers — not spooky, just warm. Protective. Like someone fluffing the pillows behind you or opening the window just a crack when the cornbread’s cooling.brbrInside Your Flat:brThis garden-level unit was once Mildred’s parlor, kitchen, dining room, and “trunk room” — always ready for a friend dropping in. It’s now a private 2-bedroom flat with:brbrTwo comfy queen bedrooms, each cozy and serenebrbr14-foot ceilings and original heart pine floors from 1848brbrWood-framed windows that flood the space with light (and gossip, probably)brbrA full bath with fluffy towels, and a small washer/dryer for sandy feetbrbrA well-loved kitchen, simple but soulful, stocked for biscuits or brunchbrbrIt’s not perfect — and that’s the point. The floors creak. A shelf leans. That’s just the house remembering.brbrOutside:brEnter through the shared front porch, where the sisters once sat — or stared each other downbrbrEnjoy your private screened back porch, perfect for coffee, novels, or eavesdropping on squirrelsbrbrRelax in the enclosed courtyard garden, where herbs still grow wild, wind chimes still sing, and something just feels... peaceful. String lights, cooking herbs and outdoor dining now dominate the space now- where Mildred once raised her herbs and pet chicken named Sofia ( We aren't kidding).brbrMeet Miss Stacy:brOur beloved housekeeper, Ms. Stacy, has been with the inn for years — she’s sweet as sweet tea and tough as old nails. She fluffs, folds, scrubs, and scolds the ghosts when needed. She might miss a washcloth now and then (she swears they hide from her), but she cleans this place like it’s her mama’s house. If you feel extra comfortable — thank her. If something’s off — she’ll probably beat us to fixing it. Her heart and intentions are always in the best place. brbr You’re in the Heart of Historic Savannah:br2 blocks from Forsyth Park (the dreamy, Spanish moss-draped part)brbrA short walk to downtown shops, cafes, ghost tours, and barsbrbrSurrounded by charm, walkability, and the soft hush of Southern nights.brbr Final Word:brThis isn’t a condo or a cookie-cutter stay. It’s a soulful, lived-in, story-rich space. A real home from another era. If you’re looking for perfect Head to a hotel...brIf you want warmth, wonder, and maybe a whispered hello from a barefoot Southern auntie in the garden...brThen baby, you’re home.

Wine, Laughs & Porch Vibes ,At Deuling Sister Inn, Walk to Forsyth Park

Savannah, Georgia, United States

NEW TO VRBO! -Welcome to the party sister’s flat at The Dueling Sisters Inn — a spacious, comfy 2BR in a historic 1848 home just blocks from Forsyth Park. Sip wine on the screened porch, share secrets in the courtyard, and sleep well in cozy queen beds. Simple, clean, and full of character, with TVs in every room, hardwood floors, and a kitchen for late-night snacks. This is where Savannah laughs once echoed — now it's your turn.brbr2 Bedroom | 1 Bath | Screened Back Porch | Fenced Courtyard | Historic 1848 HomebrbrTucked just two blocks from iconic Forsyth Park, This unit is the story-filled ground-floor flat of The Dueling Sisters Inn — once home to Myrle, the bold, fabulous, and fun-loving sister who never turned down a party.brbrWhile her sister Mildred next door preferred rose gardens, books, tea cakes, buttered biscuits. Myrle lived for champagne toasts and scandalous Savannah nights. It’s said her screened porch hosted secret serenades, flirty glances, and the occasional impromptu dance-off. More than one gentleman caller arrived with flowers — and left in a huff.brbrToday, her legacy lives on in a unit that’s spacious, comfy, and filled with soul. Not overly fancy — just like Myrle — but welcoming, clean, and ready for your next memory:brbr*Two queen bedrooms, each with their own TVbrbr*Living room TV and comfy seating for lazy evenings inbrbr* Myrle's Original hardwood floors and pocket doors from 1848brbr* A simple kitchen with a dining table for four-Myrle was never much of a cooking kind of girl, so this kitchen is simple and efficient. brbr* A charming screened-in back porch for sipping, people-watching, or plotting your next Savannah adventurebrbr* A private fenced courtyard — once the scene of many late-night laughs and whispered secretsbrbrA Note on Housekeeping...brbrYour stay is lovingly cared for by our longtime housekeeper and honorary innkeeper, Miss Stacy. She's been with us for years — and while she’s got a heart of gold, she swears those darn washcloths hide from me on purpose. You might find one in your pillowcase, but don’t worry — it’s clean. She means well, we promise.brbrThe Legend of Myrle Lives On...brbrIf the house feels a little lively, you can thank Myrle. Some say her spirit still lingers, watching over her beloved parties and porch chats. Guests have reported hearing music, laughter, or even catching the faint scent of gardenia perfume — her signature scent. Whether you believe in ghosts or just good storytelling, you'll feel her presence in the best way.brbrSo come relax like a local. **Sip something on the porch**, stay up too late swapping secrets, and soak in the charm of a home where Southern sass, vintage soul, and a little party magic still linger in the air.brbrThis home was built in 1848, and she comes with all the quirks you’d expect from a grand old Southern dame. Expect creaky floors, historic oddities, very dated bathroom, and plenty of personality. She’s not perfect — but she’s clean, comfortable, and full of love.brbrbrIf you’re looking for a stay with soul — and don’t mind a few imperfections — you’ll feel right at home here.

Historic District, walk to Forsyth Park, Sleeps 6, Historic Home, Pet friendly!

Savannah, Georgia, United States

Perched on the top floor of a storied early 18th-century Savannah townhouse, this two-bedroom, two-bath apartment offers vintage charm, peaceful porches, and a front-row seat to one of the city's most legendary sibling rivalries. This is the right side of the Dueling Sisters Inn, once the home of Mildred — the quieter, sterner of the two infamous twin sisters who gave this home its name, and its spirit.brbrThe home was originally built by their father, a respected Savannah judge, who wanted to give his daughters matching townhouses so neither would feel favored. It didn’t work. Mildred, the elder by just a few minutes, took this upper flat as her sanctuary. She was proud, precise, and sharp-eyed, known for her perfect biscuits, pressed linens, and the way she could silence a room with a single glance over her teacup. Her sister Myrle, who lived next door, preferred late-night porch parties and scandal. Their love for each other was real — but so was the competition.brbrToday, this home still carries that quiet elegance. The apartment features two queen bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a bright living room, and a well-equipped kitchen perfect for cooking in or reheating leftovers from Savannah’s finest restaurants. There are two private porches — one in the front for people-watching over morning coffee, and one in the back for unwinding at sunset. The original hardwood floors, tall windows, and vintage touches throughout the space give it a timeless Southern feel, while modern comforts like central heat and air, smart TVs, and Wi-Fi make it easy to settle in.brbrSome guests say Mildred never really left. You might notice a breeze when there’s no open window, or a tea towel that moves overnight. One guest claimed to smell lavender and lemon cookies just before bed — and swears no one had baked a thing. Mildred was never one to cause a fuss, but she did like order. We recommend keeping things tidy… and maybe offering a polite goodnight before turning off the lights.brbrThe space is lovingly cared for by Miss Stacy, our longtime housekeeper and resident keeper-of-the-peace. She’s been with the house for years and knows every creak and quirk. She also has her own stories about the sisters, but she’ll only share them if you ask nicely.brbrLocated just two blocks from Forsyth Park, this apartment puts you in the heart of Savannah’s Historic District. You can walk to shaded squares, coffee shops, art galleries, cocktail bars, and some of the best food in the city. This neighborhood is one of the most beautiful and photographed in the country — filled with Spanish moss, gas lanterns, and stories waiting to be discovered.brbrThis isn’t a modern build or a luxury condo. It’s older, full of charm, and beautifully imperfect. The floors may creak. A doorknob may rattle. But the space is clean, comfortable, and full of character — the kind of place that welcomes you in and makes you feel like you’ve stepped into something real.brbrIf you’re looking for a stay with personality, history, and a porch to call your own, then welcome to Mildred’s side of the house. She’s been expecting you.
