The driveway is 100 yards long.brbrWe are deep in the woods so we do not offer any WiFi, SATELLITE OR CABLE TV we cannot get them! Please keep this in mind when renting. We do have cell phone service...the cell tower is at the peak of the mountain we are on. brbrWe have great views of the woods and winter views of Lake Blue Ridge. brbrWe just relisted in June 2021. While downstairs you will find the covered hot tub located on the lower deck. There’s more seating for everyone, plus a covered swing. You can enjoy yourself from anywhere at Owl’s Eye Lodge.brbrThis place was perfect…I am an avid traveler for work and personal trips and never stay in the same one twice but I will absolutely bring my family here again. The place was easy to access, communication with Andre was quick and clear and courteous.br-Emily (guest)brbrOwl's Eye Lodge is a beautiful, updated country getaway! It is larger and more spacious than most area properties and the sunsets are amazing! In the country, things are a bit different than in the big city (but the grocery store, Home Depot and Walmart are still only about 7 minutes away):brbrTHINGS TO KNOW BEFORE RENTINGbrbr1) The roads are hilly and our driveway is STEEP (as is typical of mountain homes in the area). However, the roads on the way to the cabin are well paved and maintained, including the driveway (unlike gravel/dirt like at most local places). Our driveway is grooved for extra traction and has not been a problem for guests. But it is steep. Ideally arrive before dark, as the mountain roads to the cabin are not well lit. Besides, during the day you will be better able to enjoy the lovely views on the ride in. You can check-in as late as you would like via keypad entry.brbr2) Phone service is generally bad, but this is easily rectified by calling your phone service provider ahead of time to access their free internet phone calling capability. This is the same type of calling as from your phone with the same phone number, it is just done over the internet instead of from a cell tower. This is worth setting up no matter where you are in the USA. brbr3) The countryside has bugs and critters. We have an exterminator who provides excellent scheduled service. However, bugs and critters will still occasionally enter the property from time to time, and the guest can either trap and free the insect or kill it. We will not judge, but it is part of country life in ANY cabin herebrbr4) The Sugar Creek Racetrack is located about 1.5 miles away and holds races mostly from May through October. The races typically start around 5 and can go all the way to 1 am. Typically these take place twice per month on Saturdays, but they can take place any day. It may be loud. You might want to contact the track to know when the races are before you book! You may even want to check out a race while you are here :) brbr5) This cabin is ideal for family fun or a weekend getaway for couples. It is doubtful you will find a better cabin for either of these purposes. We do hope you send us your group photos with our living room bear or our owl on the outdoor fireplace!

Only 15 minutes to downtown Blue Ridge or the Toccoa River, 20 minutes to downtown Ellijay and about 55 minutes to Helen. Game room with Ping-pong, Foosball, and a Pac-Man/Galaga arcade! Recent renovation including new granite counters in the kitchen & bathrooms, a new half bathroom in the basement, new stainless kitchen appliances, a new top-grain leather sofa & loveseat for the family room, and a new king size bed in the master bedroom! We have owned this cabin since 2005 and it is still our favorite escape! We want others to experience the enchantment and adventure that the cabin and the surrounding area offer! brbrFrom the covered back porch, you will feel like you're in a treehouse! Enjoy the relaxing hot tub, a 3-person swing, a rocking chair and beautiful mountain views! The large family room has a gas-log fireplace, a 55 inch Roku smart TV, ceiling fan, leather sofa & loveseat and a comfy recliner. Horseback riding facilities, waterfalls, hiking trails, zip-lining, tubing and the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway (open-air train rides) are all nearby! The Benton Mackaye trail runs right through the mountain that the cabin sits on! There are also several lakes within hiking distance and wildlife abounds! Many of our guests have seen bears, deer and wild turkeys on the property.brbrThe cabin has central heat and air conditioning for your comfort. The main floor master bedroom has a comfortable king size pillow top mattress and the main floor guest bedroom has a comfy queen size pillow top mattress. The master bedroom has a private full bathroom with a shower/tub combo and another flat screen smart TV. The main floor guest bedroom has a private shower and sink, and the hallway half-bath with a toilet and sink is located just outside of the guest bedroom. In the finished portion of the basement, there is another comfortable queen bed and two twin/single beds! In the unfinished (but clean) section of the basement there is a game room with a Ping-pong table, a Foosball table and a private half-bathroom recently added! There are ceiling fans in all bedrooms and the cabin interior has beautiful pine floors, walls and ceilings, no drywall. A paved driveway and parking pad with room for up to 4 cars, and no-steps easy entry into the cabin! brbrCome and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature at The Bear's Lair cabin in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains! Don't forget your firewood for the firepit or it can be bought locally. Exterior security cameras are in use (out front only). Carbon monoxide and smoke detectors are on each floor for your safety.
