Harbourside apartment with seaviews and parking

Penzance, Cornwall, United Kingdom

Summary:brThe Quarterdeck is a modern second floor apartment in a converted 1872 harbourside wharf building. Bi-fold doors open onto a balcony looking over St Michaels Mount, Mounts Bay and the harbour. The lighthouse is visible at night. It has private parking & is 1 min from Brunels train station and buses. The main shopping street starts just behind the Wharf & has many interesting independent shops. Pz is big enough to have a cinema, live music/arts venues, galleries, exotic parks etc & be walkable.brbrThe Space:brThe Quarterdeck is a modern flat in a recently converted old Wharf building on the harbourside. There is a road now below the balcony where ships once unloaded by hauling their loads through the living room window. It has amongst the best views in town looking onto St Michaels Mount, the harbour and along Mounts bay. Looks great in summer, even better in storms. By night the boats lights and the lighthouse look super. brbrAlmost uniquely there is private parking. brThe flat is on the second floor with an upstairs bedroom in the loftspace with exposed beams, kingsize bed and new pocket sprung mattress. brbrThe apartment has been redecorated throughout and WIFI added for 2020. brThere is a fully equipped kitchen and modern shower room/WC. brbrPenzance is still a real working town rather than relying entirely on tourism (St Ives). It gives it a great range of facilities with an independent cinema, Acorn theatre, lots of live music in pubs, independent shops, galleries, exotic parks etc. Nearby St Ives is best visited by train 1 min away as parking there is beyond difficult. Trains are cheap, frequent and chug beautifully along Carbis Bay to get there. brbrFor walkers, the Coastal Footpath is pretty much outside the front door. Marazion is 2 miles to the left with the chance to see dolphins infront of St Michaels Mt (20+ last time for me) and onto Perranuthenoe with the Peppercorn and Beach hut cafe' and surfers. brbrTo the right Newlyn (great Filmhouse cinema) is 20mins leading onto Mousehole. brbrIf you do only one walk perhaps take bus to Mousehole and follow path to Lamorna Cove (and cafe') for a real feel of the sea and cliffs. Seals, dolphins and basking sharks and ravens are often seen.brbrGuest Access:brThere is a keysafe for self check in and details are shared a few days prior to check in.brbrOther Things to Note:brPARKING brThere is private parking with the flat. brbrThe bus and train station are a minute away and the best way to visit St Ives and much of the west coast, especially in summer. Public transport is cheap and reliable and avoids traffic and parking issues especially in summer. brbrThe aprtment block does not have an elevator and the flat is on the second floor. brbrThe apartment itself once inside is a duplex. brbrThe train station has a free guide to walks from train stations.brbrInteraction with Guests:brWe are based locally and happy to help, contact us via message, whats app or phone call.
