Annie spent her summers hiking, fishing, canning berries and smoking salmon. brbrAnnie and her family are indigenous to Alaska. Her father is Aleut and her mom is Yupik. Tradition and culture are very important. We hope that Alagnaq Inn gives voice to Alaskan natives and you leave this land with honor and appreciation. Alagnaq means Berry or Salmon Berry in the Alutiiq language. This name was chosen for the abundance of berries in this region.brbrAnnie’s great grandparents raised her grandpa and his siblings in the Jesse Lee Home for displaced children. You can see the former location of the Jesse Lee Home from the Alagnaq Inn front deck. It was located in the large fenced in property across the road.brbrbrThe stop for the free local summer shuttle (available seasonally) is located just 0.6 miles away at the Seward Visitor's Center (next to Safeway). This shuttle takes you on a loop through town. We're also happy to provide taxi recommendations. The harbor is within walking distance for those looking to get some exercise, but we don't recommend that walk with luggage. brbrAlagnaq Inn showcases Alaska Native artistry, complemented by literature and cultural pieces, providing an opportunity for guests to both learn and honor the local culture. It pays tribute to the fact that the land we reside on holds deep historical significance for the Alutiiq/Sugpiaq people.brbrKindly be aware: The property is situated in a recently developed area within Seward’s newest neighborhood and occasional daytime construction might occur within the vicinity. Property is being developed on East side of home but will not obstruct water view. However if you want something convenient to town and all that Seward has to offer, Alagnaq is a great fit. Perched high on a steep hillside, this spacious three-story retreat comfortably sleeps 12 guests (ideally 8 adults and 4 children) and offers the perfect setting for families or groups looking to gather, relax, and reconnect. Surrounded by towering trees and fresh mountain air, the home provides privacy, breathtaking scenery, and an authentic Alaskan lodge atmosphere. Please note that the property sits up a steep hill and includes many stairs across its three levels, making it unsuitable for guests with mobility challenges or very small children.brbrThe top floor offers a quiet and restful retreat. The master bedroom features a king bed, dresser, nightstand, chair, TV, closet, and a private attached bathroom with a shower/tub combination. A second bedroom on this level includes a queen bed, dresser, chair, nightstand, and closet. An additional full bathroom with a spacious two-headed shower serves the floor, and a small desk area provides a convenient space for remote work or planning the day’s adventures.brbrThe middle floor is the heart of the home, designed for gathering and making memories. The living room includes a sofa, loveseat, rocking chair, beanbag, entertainment center, and TV, all set beneath stunning antler chandeliers that give the space a true Alaskan lodge feel. The fully equipped kitchen features a refrigerator, oven and stove, microwave, and coffee bar for slow, cozy mornings. A long dining table seats 10 guests, with two additional chairs available to accommodate everyone comfortably. There is also an additional loveseat and TV in the kitchen area, creating multiple spaces to relax. Down the hall, you’ll find a laundry room with a washer, dryer, iron, and ironing board, along with an attached half bath. Just down a short set of steps is another bedroom with a queen bed, dresser, and luggage rack (no closet). Guests staying in this bedroom have access to a half bath and will need to use the top or bottom restrooms to shower or bathe. The wood stove is not available for fires during the summer months.brbrThe bottom floor is perfect for families with children or teens. One bedroom features two sets of bunk beds that sleep four, with built-in stairs for easy access to the top bunks, along with a dresser, TV, luggage racks, two beanbags, and a game center. This room does not have a closet and is a favorite hangout space for younger guests. Another bedroom on this level includes a king bed, two nightstands, dresser, and closet. A full bathroom with a shower and toilet completes the lower level.brbrOne of the home’s most special features is the large, spacious deck, perfect for enjoying the surrounding wilderness. The logs were harvested in Haines, Alaska and trucked up to Valdez, Alaska where Serendipity Log Works hand peeled and scribed these logs into what I wanted. brEnjoy the hand crafted all traditional mortise and tenon joinery stairs made by Precision Timberworks here in Seward. Filled with live plants and artwork. br brEnjoy the outside fire pit with your family and friends. Cook your days catch on the BBQ and enjoy a large kitchen to make your memories and meals.brbrSoak in a claw foot tub, (circa early 1900's) the bracket was made by local Artist James Minden who used salvaged metal from the 1964 Great Alaskan Earthquake. Or enjoy the tile walk in shower.brbrConstruction was completed in the fall of 2016. The unit offers a mater bedroom with a queen size bed, a spacious clean bathroom with a shower/tub, towels are provided, a full size loft with a queen size bed. There are 2 decks to relax on, one facing East and one that faces West. The West side provides the front yard with picnic table, fire pit and gas grill. The east side provides a beautiful glacier/snowcapped mountain range. brWe are located in the Lost Lake Subdivision which is the gateway to Chugach National Forest and the famous Lost Lake Trailhead. We are in the perfect location for outdoor activities! From our property we are 1/2 mile from the Lost Lake Trailhead and we are just 3 miles from town. brbrThe city bike (walk) path starts right below our property and it will take you all the way to the end of town, which is where you will find the Alaska Sealife Center. brYou'll be able to come home from your full day of activities and relax either in or outdoors.brWith the bright and open floor plan it has a lot to offer, it will give you and your guest more time to socialize and you will also be able to keep a eye on the kids!brSeward is an outdoors person's paradise! With deep sea fishing, glacier and wildlife cruises, many many hiking trails, a waterfront bike path (actually starts right below the guest house) that takes you along the edge of the Resurrection Bay where most people end up in the evening taking walks, talking with other travelers and just enjoying the views you won't see anywhere else! We have some of the BEST restaurants in Alaska that serve the freshest seafood you can get!brbrbr

A 10 min drive to the Seward boat harbor and downtown, this property with its front and back deck to enjoy the views, fire pit near the lake, and walk in lake access -- this property is perfect for outdoor relaxation. brbrWe do encourage guests to refrain from cooking fish inside the unit; however, we do provide a grill for outdoor cooking of your local catch. Welcome to the Mountain Top Cabin, a two story cabin in Seward, Alaska. Situated on a secluded hilltop and nestled among towering spruce and hemlock, this cabin affords spectacular views of Exit Glacier and the surrounding mountains. The cabin is on a private lot that borders the Chugach National Forest. A covered deck with seating is attached to the cabin for soaking in the awe inspiring views.brbrThe main floor features an open living room, dining room, and kitchen area. The living room is well-appointed with beautiful leather furniture and satellite TV. The fully equipped kitchen includes an electric stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, and cooking utensils. The bathroom has a shower, toilet, towels, and hair dryer, as well as a washer and dryer.brbrThe second floor features two bedrooms. The first bedroom has a comfortable queen size bed, dresser, two night stands and a cozy sitting area. The second bedroom includes a full size bed, a twin xl size bed, a dresser, night stand, and chair. brbrThis cabin is equipped with both standard electricity and solar power. WiFi is provided for your convenience.brbrOutside the cabin is a fire pit, gas grill, and 7 cubic foot freezer for storing your fishing catch while in town. Plenty of parking is available onsite. A beautifully crafted cedar sauna with a changing room is also located next to the cabin to help you relax after a long day. We are one of Sewards Historic buildings and part of the Historic walking tour. This rental has been renovated to provide modern amenities, but we kept some of the historic charm. Small but quaint with queen bed, private bath, sitting area, kitchenette and outdoor area. Free Shuttle and walking path 1 block away.brLocation is the key! Heart of downtown, but on a quiet street, you are walking distance to almost everything! brThis charming, but small, apartment is 1 block from Resurrection Bay, the Sea Life Center and 1 street over from downtown shops and restaurants. This is one of Sewards oldest buildings and originally a boarding house from the old railroad days. Come stay and be part of Seward's history. Speaking of history, we are right behind the museum/library. brThis rental has been renovated, but we kept some of the historic charm. The size is approximately the same as a standard hotel room, but we provided a lot more amenities and a LOT more affordable. It is a 1 bedroom with queen super comfy bed, closet, bathroom with tub/shower and small seating area. Kitchenette has single induction plate, convection oven, microwave, air fryer, Keurig, French press and refrigerator. Blinds and blackout curtains to help you get a restful nights sleep. You'll find unbeatable views of surrounding mountains from every window as well as from both the front and back decks.brbrEach bedroom and sleeping area is thoughtfully fitted with black-out coverings to help guests get a good night sleep in the land of the Midnight Sun. The blinds are also top down, bottom up so that you can maintain privacy from the street but still enjoy the mountain views. brbrThere are two bedrooms with a queen size bed in each and one bedroom with a bunk bed that has a twin and full size mattress. The apartment has only one bathroom, but the toilet and bathtub are separated from the sink.
