We loved everything about La Garrigue: the house, the views, the pool, the warm and personal welcome, ... and the cat :-) . A refaire.
Beautiful house with a great pool, located in a quiet and amazing country area with an astonishing view. The hosters are very welcoming and did everything to ensure that our vacation went well.
We a brilliant time staying at La Garrigue. The location is absolutely stunning and the views from the pool are even better than the photographs suggest! The house has all that you need for a couple of weeks but the main attraction is the outdoor space. If you want to get away from it all and just relax in a hammock by the pool undisturbed for a couple of weeks this is the place for you. Jean Patrick and Caroline were really welcoming and on hand if we needed anything at all. Really recommend this property - perfect location!
We had a fantastic week at Jean-Patrick's house. The location is stunning, very peaceful and secluded, but just 5 minutes drive from the village of Cereste, where you find several shops (bakery and supermarket) and restaurants. Even with very hot weather the house stays cool and fresh and the large swimming pool is fantastic. The house is equipped with all you may need, both inside and outside, with many little lovely corners where you can eat, relax and enjoy the beautiful view. I hope we will be able to come back!
My family had a fantastic fortnight's holiday here. One of the first things you notice about La Garrigue is the truly gorgeous views of the mountains and lavender fields, especially from the large and very well-situated pool. The second thing is that it is truly completely private. We did not see a single person, or car, or even so much as a road from the house or pool! As a result it is also a very peaceful and quiet place to spend a holiday. The gite is attractive from the outside, and inside, it has a rustic authenticity to the way it is decorated, combined with all the amenities you would want - dishwasher, washing machine, coffee machine, microwave, kettle etc. It was also very conveniently situated for short trips to shops, pharmacies etc as Creste is a short walk or very short drive away, and a good base for sightseeing across the beautiful wider region . The wide range of bikes at the property also came in very handy, and meant we did not have to bring our family bikes with us on the long trip from the UK. The owner Jean-Patrick and his friend Caroline were very helpful and immediately responsive when we had questions, for example they came to meet us in person when we arrived. They also kept the pool very clean and well maintained for us, and gave us helpful advice on places to visit and things to do.
Nearly 10 years of vacationing in the south of France meant we finally had to visit the Luberon area. But those famous villages are so over-crowded we decided on the eastern region and this country house in Cereste, which proved to be absolutely perfect. First, all of our booking questions were answered promptly and most thoroughly, so we knew exactly what kind of house to expect; we were also provided with endless tips on what to see and do, where to eat & explore, in the area. Just prior to our holiday I had a terrible biking accident which required a local doctor to tend to my head injury. Both Lynne (who managed the reservation) and Patrick (the French owner) were absolutely wonderful to me in every respect, and reassured me prior to departure that good medical care would be arranged. Both Lynne and Patrick made doctor appointments, and checked in on me to find out how I was doing. (The local doctor was fantastic, too). We have 2 kids (aged 10 and 15) who loved the solitude of the property and the beautiful views from the pool top area. If they were not out exploring during the day (Colorado Rustrel, Apt, local markets), the large pool was where we spent most of our time. My husband is a gourmet cook, and found everything he needed. Patrick gave us our choice of grill (he has 2 properties, but you cant see or hear the other party whatsoever) and provided bikes, and immediately tended to any question that came up. We couldnt get the DVD to work, and he came immediately and the next day he brought a brand new Blueray, for example. The location provides 100% solitude but is also minutes from Cereste, minutes from the local stable (important for my horse rididing daughter) and the many lovely hill-top villages in this area are so unlike the tourist traps of Lacoste, Lourmarin, Gordes, Bonnieux etc., but as distinct and beautiful. How long this area remains unspoiled is the question then! As for the house, it is simple and basically decorated, but our main priorities were proper facilities, high standard of cleanliness and comforable beds, all of which were fulfilled. Most of all, Patrick and his family made us feel most welcome and went out of their ways to ensure that our 2 weeks exceeded our expectations! Merci beaucoup.
If you are looking for a place to stay in the south of France that offers comfort tranquillity and spectacular views then look no further. Lynne who was our booking contact was so helpful and efficient providing all the information we needed without asking for it - even asked if we would like her to make a reservation in a local restaurant for when we arrived. We flew into Toulon however there are many other airport choices and after a few hours we arrived at the property which was amazing. We were met by the owner Patrick and his friend Genevieve who were both very friendly and helpful and did all they could to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The house has everything you need and all in good working order. There were many extras that were left for us to use which is not always provided in other properties we have stayed in like bbq coal, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing powder and toilet paper. The WiFi works better than it does at home which the kids were very happy with. The outdoor eating area was lovely and we enjoyed many evenings eating, playing cards and listening to music. The one thing that took our breath away was the pool - the views were spectacular so much so that we didn't leave the priority unless we had to visit the local shop to top up on our food and wine supply. The pool also had lots of accessories like volleyball, football's and softball which got lots of use. The local restaurants were also amazing the food was just incredible and we also visited the local ice cream shop which comes highly recommended. Overall we had a perfect holiday and would love to return again.
