Stayed Jan 24, 2026We spent 5 nights at the cottage and had a wonderful time. On arrival, there was delicious shortbread, which was gratefully received! The accommodation was very comfortable and spacious. It was lovely being able to look out of the window and see the cows and calf. The house is well equipped and we had everything we needed. The local area is stunning with waterfalls, hills and beaches close by. There are also lots of castles to visit and we did clay pigeon shooting at Turnberry, which is a short drive away. All in all, it was a lovely, relaxing stay and we would love to visit again.

Stayed Jun 22, 2025We recently stayed at The Cottage for a week, this was a very enjoyable stay. The Cottage is very spacious, has a lovely enclosed garden (which was required for our dog), and a wood/coal fire facility. The owners were very helpful and friendly....just the right amount of contact. It was enjoyable seeing the animals on the farm and the lovely countryside all around. The very well equipped kitchen is excellent for home cooking. We enjoyed bramble picking and made a crumble with them and some of the farms apples. The beds are also very comfortable. We have only marked Girvan down for amenities as there is nowhere to have a bar lunch although lots of cafes. A very good Indian (Yasmins) and fish and chips (Grazianos). Lots of lovely gift shops and of course a beautiful beach. We would definately book again.

Stayed Apr 1, 2023Enjoyed a wonderful week at this cottage, the owners Mary and John were so welcoming, gorgeous shortbread homemade by Mary for when we arrived, really well equipped, lots of games to play, the garden is huge, we had beautiful weather and enjoyed visiting the towns nearby. Lovely icecream in town and the beach bike hire people were brilliant too. We will definitely return here, we felt very at home.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We had a great week here with our two Springer Spaniels, Betsy and Millie, they loved their morning walks along the beach which is only 5 minutes drive away from the cottage. The cottage is on a working farm, it is the tidiest farm and cleanest I've ever seen! The cottage is homely and welcoming. Mary is a super host and made us a batch of shortbread biscuits which lasted us all week. There is a huge selection of books to read which we really enjoyed and also a good DVD library, ideal for those wet days or dark evenings. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The house provided everything you needed for a comfortable stay. The surrounding area was lovely and it was very quiet and within easy reach of beaches and walking. The owners were very friendly and helpful and were right next door if you need them. The house had a large fully fenced garden which our 2 dogs enjoyed as well. Would definitely recommend a family stay. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Enjoyed our stay, John & Mary were welcoming and nearby if needed but remained unobtrusive. A working farm with cows, sheep, chickens & horses. Approximately five minutes drive from nearest village (Girvan) including sea, harbour etc fantastic walks in the vicinity. Had a fantastic meal at a pub called the Kirk Michael the beer & food were excellent.

Stayed Apr 20, 2019We were welcomed by Mary on our arrival. A lovely welcome awaited us the kitchen , a box full of the most delicious shortbread I have ever tasted and milk in the fridge for our 1st cup of tea. The cottage was immaculate. Everything in the cottage is of high quality. Equipped with everything you could possibly need. The garden was lovely, we were able to sit out in it as we had some lovely sunny days. Also it being secure so my dog didn't have to be secured to a tether as is usually the case . As a family we had a lovely holiday touring this very pretty part of Scotland. We plan to book this cottage again in the future. We have stayed in many cottages over the years , this is by far the best we have ever stayed in. Any others we book now will have a hard act to follow.
