Stayed Nov 23, 2025Had a lovely week in October weather could have been better but it didn’t spoil our holiday. Saw plenty of deer, birds, squirrels and was set in a lovely area. Cottage was very well stocked and nothing we could have needed the owners were around but never in our way. Definitely recommend. Our 2 dogs loved the decking area which was large. We even had the log fire on 1 night which was amazing.

Stayed Jul 29, 2023A peaceful setting. Extremely poor Wi-Fi. TV, microwave, did not work there were no operating instructions. There were wasps inside on arrival we mentioned it next day to owner who came out and said she had no previous knowledge of them even though there were dead wasps in the window channels of both hall and bedroom. Every day after we managed to collect approx 100 wasps per day. We found the nest in the roof and reported it and suggested pest control should be called. Of our 7 day holiday only on the 5th and 6th were the wasps dealt with properly. Only the 7th day was it live wasp free. One of our party was stung twice. We feel the property should not have been let in this condition.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969A delightful new timber framed cottage with modern facilities, including an en-suite walk-in shower that was a must for our parents. There is also a separate bathroom, with bath, to sooth those acing muscles after hiking the beautiful South Downs, which are a short distance away. There are footpaths and bridleways on the doorstep that I used for my early morning dog walks. If you need an enclosed field to exercise your dog, then there is one to hire just a five minute drive away. The cottage is very clean, especially important in Covid times, which put our 91 and 95 year youngs at rest as soon as we walked in. The kitchen is very well equipped, and we enjoyed having meals on the secluded outside area overlooking the forest. Wi-fi works well and suited our needs to find out about places of interest, etc., though isn't fast enough for streaming videos - an advantage in our opinion. Owners have a 'hands off' approach, but are very friendly and most informative if you need to ask anything. Highly recommended. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We had a lovely week at the Old Packhouse. It's perfectly located for day trips to the seaside but it's also surrounded by so many local footpaths and bridleways that you don't have to go anywhere. The decking is super dog friendly as all fully enclosed so no chance of escapees! It's a lovely space to sit out and look over the woods or distant hills. Inside, the cottage has everything you'd need for a quiet time away. The log burner is great, bathrooms lovely and bedrooms very peaceful overlooking garden and with high ceilings and wood beams. The Fountain Inn in Ashurst has a lovely garden and the food is superb. We will definitely be back for a return visit. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Stayed Dec 31, 1969A very peaceful location, with plenty of opportunity to watch wildlife - birds, squirrels, deer etc. The barn is well equipped and comfortable, and situated well for exploring the local area - Sussex. The Barn was clean and well presented, with bed linen and towels included, plus a hairdryer was available as requested. As mentioned in some other reviews, phone signal is almost non-existent, and Wifi is very weak. The outside table and chairs and decking area are in need of a little TLC. The local pub - The Red Lion is definitely worth a visit, as is the Indian restaurant. However, note that they are both a car journey away - too far to walk to. We would recommend this accommodation.
