The Cottage is in a good location - close enough to walk into Alston on a footpath and with (almost) direct access onto the Pennine Way, a national long-distance walking trail. The open plan layout downstairs was comfortable with plenty of room for 4 people. The central heating made it very cosy for a cool wet week in October, and there was the added bonus of a log burner with wood available, if required. The hot tub is shared between all 4 units, but this wasn't a problem as there was a booking schedule if busy (it wasn't!) The bedrooms were well furnished with plenty of storage to put any luggage away, the bed was comfortable and extra pillows were in the wardrobe. The owners were friendly and available if required, but not intrusive. All in all, a very enjoyable holiday set in beautiful scenery. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Beautiful cottage, very clean with all amenities needed. There is a lovely wood burning fireplace with plenty of wood which we took advantage of in the rainy weather. Very cosy, lovely hot water and good water pressure for baths and showers. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, I've already recommended this cottage to my friends. The cottage and location were lovely. The only negative is that the cottage didn't have the basics - cooking oil, salt, pepper, washing up liquid and sponge etc.

Lovely spacious cottage with great amenities and especially the shared hot tub. Friendly hosts. My only small gripe is the sofas weren’t very comfortable and gave both myself and Hubbie back ache. Super comfy beds though.

We had a lovely stay here it was very clean and had a very warm welcome. The hot tub was a big plus and was lovely to relax in at the end of the day. The nearest village is quite small and whilst there the chippy was shut and one of the pubs shut early so we did have to travel a bit further for some variety of food. Apart from local village which is a 5 min drove I wouldn’t recommend walking down the road as no footpath and fast traffic. We loved the property and did enjoy the peace and quiet but was a little too rural for us. But would highly recommend here as a place to stay for visiting different places and if u like rambling it’s wonderful ?
