An excellent cottage, out of the way with amazing scenery. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. This is a great base for exploring both Northumberland and the Lake District. Easy walks from the cottage or just sit on the garden and enjoy the views. Very accurate description and photos. Would visit again without reservation.

We had a fantastic week, the owners were so helpful with brilliant local knowledge. The dogs loved having so many great walks close to the property. The log burner was fantastic to have and we needed it due to a cold end to August. We will definitely go again. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

What a beautiful cottage in such a beautiful corner of the world. We wanted a quiet getaway to relax and recharge and it was exactly what we wanted. The owners were wonderful and full of interesting information about the surroundings. Would definitely go back again.

We had a lovely relaxing short break at Widows Cottage. It was easy to find just off the a-road, and Phil was there to greet us and show us in to an already lit fire. The cottage had all the amenities you would need for a much longer stay, and after settling in Phil came back to talk through everything we needed to know. The cottage was a great base to get out walking from, and very cosy in the cold evenings. Although just off an A-road you don't get any noise. The gravel track up to the cottage is pretty steep and bumpy, but my low powered hatchback managed it fine.
