Cherokee, North Carolina
When your hosts dad bought this property in 1947, this was a 2 story log cabin constructed at the end of the 1800’s . At that time the top logs were brought down to ground level and rebuilt as a one room one level cabin with a small kitchen and bath added. This property is very centrally located in Cherokee, an easy walk to harrahs casino. And 2 miles from the southern entrance of the GSMNP.
We loved it!!!!!
The house was quaint. Very clean. Just perfect for 2 people! Good location.
Nice little place for couples…. You can walk to casino across street…
We enjoyed are stay! I would recommend that the TV be upgraded because it was very fuzzy. Other than that, it was a cozy little cabin! Thanks for allowing us to stay!
Place is private and quiet, even being directly across from the casino. Adorable place to stay, we will stay here again when we visit Cherokee.
Super close to the Harrah's Cherokee Casino. It's a 5 minute walk door to door. Very cool looking cabin. Great porch. It's a little larger than I thought it would be based on the description. One thing I would recommend for the owner. Some kind of lights along the driveway would be very nice. Other than that, I love the place. It's a nice way to take a break from the casino. They also have a larger house next door on vrbo. If I come with a group, I'd love to stay there.
My sister in-law and I enjoyed our stay. So close to everything. Perfect for 2 not sharing a bed. Kitchen was the perfect size.
I checked in and as always with every place I stay, I checked the beds. There were visible bugs crawling on the blanket under the comforter. I called the host and she told me to lock the property back up and go on to rent the hotel down the street and she would get with Vrbo on how to refund my money. Once I left her property she then completely changed her tune and refused to refund me anything. I payed her for 2 days and only stayed about 30 minutes before having to go to a local hotel and pay to stay the weekend. Unless you want bugs crawling on you while you sleep, by all means avoid this 2 room shack that is listed as a cabin!!
If you want to be a less than five minute walk to the casino, but sill feel like you're away from everything, this is your place. It's right behind the Days Inn. There is a little bit of wooded area separating the cabin from the casino area. Beds were pretty comfortable. And that's coming from someone who owns a furniture store. The owner also has a larger place right next to this one if you need more rooms. My buddy and I were super comfortable here. Would get again in a heart beat.
The rental process went seamlessly and the cabin was just what my wife and I were looking for for a weekend getaway. It had everything we needed and the communication with the host was top notch.
I am very pleased with the house and owner. The cabin I rented for the weekend wasn't ready. The owner placed us in the appropriate house to fit more than our needs. The house was wonderful. The story behind the house made it even more memorable.
