Stayed Jul 12, 2025Our stay at the Steller’s Jay cabin was perfect as a home base for the northern leg of our Alaska adventure. It is located a bit off the beaten path between Willow and Talkeetna near a beautiful, peaceful lake. Even though it felt secluded, it wasn’t too bad of a drive to get to Talkeetna- a very quaint town with a tin of personality. We stayed for 5 nights and made several day trips including Denali National Park, a jet boat ride, dining and shopping in Talkeetna, a spectacular driver through Hatcher Pass and an even more spectacular helicopter ride to Knik Glacier. The cabin is very cozy with lovely art and lots of personal touches including the jacuzzi tub and sauna. The loft has pretty low ceilings that required me to climb on my knees over my husband and to go down a squeaky ladder in the morning- it kind of added to the adventure though. The long summer days in Alaska gave us plenty of time to enjoy campfires, yard games and strolls to the lake in the evenings, despite our busy adventure days. We would certainly recommend a stay at Deb’s lovely cabin.
