Stayed Aug 2, 2018Rosie and Allan are excellent hosts and make you feel very welcome. They have converted the top of their barn themselves and made it into a delightful and quite unique place to stay. You can also sit in their wonderful garden in the evening. Rosie’s breakfasts were delicious and we all loved her pancakes. It’s a far more enjoyable place to stay than a bland hotel. Would love to visit again one day.

Stayed Jul 8, 2018Our 4th year visiting France and our favourite stay of all. Our hosts were friendly, attentive and accommodating. The barn was fabulously quirky, and comfortable. We would like to thank the family for their welcome, their kindness and their care throughout our stay. Highly recommended.

Stayed Aug 20, 2016We had a two night stop over with Rosie and Allan during our trip across France. After getting stuck in traffic around Bordeaux, we were greeted with cold beers and a very warm welcome - it felt like we had known them for years! Our young boys loved playing in the gorgeous gardens and making friends with Rosie and Allan's boys. The barn was beautifully restored and full of unique, artistic touches. It was a really memorable place to stay! We loved the breakfast - croissants and scotch pancakes (yum!) - and had a wonderful day exploring a few of the local Chateau's and paddling in the Dordogne. We hope to visit again soon as we would love to explore the area more (and enjoy Rosie's pancakes again!) Thank you both for your warm welcome and fascinating chats!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Our visit started with the French authorities closing a major road for maintenance. This baffled our SatNav and left us lost in a maze of country lanes in pitch darkness. Our host, Rosie, phoned us, talked us into a nearby town and then drove out to us at approaching midnight so we could follow her. These are the actions of a caring host, and were very much appreciated. The Barn is beautiful and decorated with items made by Rosie and her partner. They are extremely talented artists in a variety of mediums. The Barn is very comfortable, with an A frame beam interior and lovely views over the valley. It was well maintained with heating (if you visit early or late in the year) a TV and plenty of power points. There is a fully fitted shower room/toilet on the ground floor. The photographs online are accurate. We were very well looked after (see above, for a start) and Rosie and Allan are attentive but not intrusive. Their home is close and there is usually someone around if you need anything. Breakfast is available if requested in advance, we had a selection of cereals, bread rolls, croissants and tea/coffee/fruit juice. I would certainly recommend the Barn. It is central to any number of lovely French towns and villages to explore. The world famous Lascaux caves are a short car journey away and the area is known for it's prehistoric sites, all within easy reach. Restaurants, Bistros and Cafes are in plentiful supply in every town, you'll have no problem with food. Overall, a good restful week in a quiet rural retreat with attentive owners. Just what it says on the tin!
