Guests come here to fish, to write, to take a break from the busy-ness of a busy civilization, to let their thoughts and feelings coalesce. There is plenty of room for kids to swing on a tire swing out front and cast for their first fish. Horseback rides and waterfall hikes are right down the road. We are informal here in Dubois. The excitement comes from the kids’ rodeo as well as from the deer, geese and bunnies in the yard. brThe cabin has all of the amenities-a fully stocked kitchen for cooking, with seasonings, coffee, dishes, pots & pans. The laundry room has detergent. The fire pit has wood. And the grill has charcoal & lighter fluid. There are even skewers for s’mores.brHere is the layout of the cabin: a master bedroom with queen bed and an en-suite bathroom with shower. An IKEA full sofa/bed in the kitchen, topped with an additional mattress when needed. A queen sofa/bed in the TV room as well. Please note that there is only 1 bathroom and the entrance is through the bedroom. brWe try to stick to 100% cotton linens and fragrance-free chemicals in cleaning. The scent of the pine trees and sage are lovely enough. brOf course, there is Yellowstone for day trips. As well as the glitzy town of Jackson for its restaurants and shopping. Each are roughly an hour and 45 minutes from the cabin. But there is so much more right around here. brWe have lots and lots of repeat guests. You can park at the Tie Hack Memorial Parking lot of highway 20/26 and using snowmobiles, skis or snow shoes to access the Chalet. It’s about a 5 minute snowmobile ride from the parking lot to the Chalet and is roughly 1/2 mile as the crow flies. There is room in the lot for trailers and trucks both in the lot. You can drive sleds directly from the Chalet to the trails, easy peasy. They're within 2 miles of the Chalet and a mile of the parking lot.brbr(November - April) During Winter the sun rooms/decks are not winterized or suitable for use.brbrThis is actively used as a private residence. The cabin sits in quite recreational area with in a 1.5 miles to 611000 acres of Shoshone National forest, where you can go trail riding by Jeep, SXS, and dirt bikes in summer to snowmobiling in the winter. The views are endless from the wildlife to the view of the Grand Tetons. Also you can go fishing in the local lakes and streams up to 10000 feet of elevation. If hunting is your pastime there is a wide variety of game you can pursue. Other things to do is going to the National Museum of Military Vehicles and the Big Horn Sheep Museum, also Teton National park, plus Yellowstone National park south entrance 1hr away.
