You can ski from that same area on the Cupp, Shay's slopes(black & double black), or the other side where there are green & blue slopes. The lifts come up at that same area. Or you may choose to walk a 5-10 minute walk down a plowed lit path to the Village.brbrbrAs many of you know, Snowshoe has expanded it's terrain for this season. Two new trails have been developed, both of which will be accessed by the new Soaring Eagle Express. The new slopes have increased the total number of Snowshoe's ski trails to 59.brbrThere is also good news for Cupp Run and Shay's, if you haven't heard. There is a midway station under construction right now, which was how Cupp Run was originally set up. This will enable Snowshoe to open Cupp and Shay's early season, as they only have to make snow to the mid station, and will open the lower half when the cold weather supports snowmaking on the entire mountain. This unit is located in Mountain Lodge, and is one of only 6 St. Moritz units in the building, which means that it is 1000+ sq. ft. (approx. 240 sq. ft. larger than a standard 2-bedroom) and has a wood-burning fireplace. This one is a top floor, corner unit with panoramic views of the ski lift, ski slope, and the beautiful mountain lake. Pictures don't do it justice. You can watch your family get off the lift and wave down to them as they ski by! If you want a great place to make some lifelong family memories, this is it!brbrMountain Lodge is one of the older buildings in Village Central, and as it was here first, it arguably occupies the best spot on the mountain. You would be hard-pressed to find another building in the village with better views, or that is more ski-in, ski-out than this one. It is adjacent to the Ballhooter lift, has easy access to a beginner slope, or you can ski down on a green or blue run. For the utmost in convenience, there are ski/bike lockers you can rent just inside the exit to the slopes. Mountain Lodge has it's own private parking lot (rare on the mountaintop), which is free to Mountain Lodge guests. It is walking distance to the Village shops (including ski rentals), several restaurants, and Split Rock Pools with heated pool, hot tub, and sauna (additional charges apply). During prime ski season, there is even a restaurant in the basement of the building, so on those really cold nights, you can go out to eat without even going outside!brbrMountain Lodge features a comfortable lobby (currently undergoing remodeling) with a large fireplace and overlook seating areas with breathtaking views of the mountain. Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided in the building, as well as in the unit. There is a coin-operated laundromat on each floor. There is an indoor children's play area with playground equipment, a gym, and an indoor glice skating rink. Mountain Lodge is also one of the few buildings at the resort with a 24-hour desk clerk and on-site maintenance in the unlikely event anything should go wrong. This secluded, SKI-IN SKI-OUT lodge has spectacular western views FROM 4800' above sea level and sits atop Snowshoe Mountain. The Western Territory Ski Lift passes by our deck just before it reaches the top. We are beside CUPP RUN and SHAY'S REVENGE SKI SLOPES but all of the slopes connect. So you can ski anywhere, to any slopes, including the village and back home again. Call the FREE shuttle and it will be waiting in front within 10 minutes to take you to the easiest slopes or anywhere in the resort and home again or ski home. The Chalet features two natural stone, wood burning, fireplaces, one on each floor. Living room areas are on both the first and second floors. Both with large flat screen TV's on the walls, stereo systems and DVD players.
