St. John's - Simply Divine, 4 BR, 2.5 Bath, Harpers Ferry

Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, United States

A truly unique stay in the heart of Harpers Ferry--a luxurious home converted from a decommissioned historic church. Beautiful decor drawing on church features and original wood floors & paneling. 1 King bedroom suite, 2 Queen bedrooms, 1 loft with 2 Twins, 1 rollaway bed. 2 full bathrooms, 2 powder rooms. 75-inch TV. Full kitchen. Laundry room. Up to 2 dogs ok.brbrThis building was the former St. John's Episcopal Church, built in 1895, and converted to a spacious home in summer 2025. Located in the Harpers Ferry residential Historic District, it creatively honors the building's origins while incorporating modern style and luxurious amenities. brbrEnjoy an amazing primary suite with King bed and zen-style en suite bathroom. brbrAdditional guests can choose from 2 Queen bedrooms: one with an English Cottage vibe, the other filled with Tuscan Villa romance. A sweet loft with skylights offers two twin beds and a tv monitor for gaming.brbrYou'll find a full elevated kitchen, with an original stained-glass window and an island fashioned from former church furnishings. The kitchen includes a range, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, beverage fridge, coffee maker, electric kettle, immersion blender, and French press. brbrThe large open-concept former sanctuary includes a dining table for 8, 2 skylights, ceiling fans, a leather couch, 2 recliners and additional comfy seating for the whole family.brbrTwo beautiful full bathrooms and 2 powder rooms.brbrA total of 3 Roku TVs for your favorite streaming apps plus some live TV options. Games and books are available for rainy or chilly days when you're stuck inside. brbrOn warmer days, enjoy the covered back deck where you can relax and watch the deer in the woods (fan included). It's also in walking distance from restaurants, shops, the Harpers Ferry National Park, the Appalachian Trail Conservancy Headquarters, and the C&O Canal Towpath Trail.brYou'll be an easy drive to river rafting and tubing, as well as other great historic sites and numerous wineries and breweries.brbrFOR AN ACCURATE COST QUOTE, PLEASE ENTER THE CORRECT NUMBER OF GUESTS AND DECLARE ANY DOGS YOU'LL BRING. PET FEES APPLY AND NIGHTLY EXTRA FEES FOR EACH GUEST OVER 4.brbrBUGS: brThis home is in close proximity to the Potomac River bordering a wooded area, which means you'll see mostly harmless bugs (gnats, ladybugs, box elder bugs, etc.) common to rural environments (sometimes wven spiders) -- some that swarm the area randomly without warning. Even if guests are careful, some of those bugs may enter the house and are attracted to lights. The best way to minimize bugs inside is to keep doors and windows closed at all times. Even then, the building is 130 years old and not totally airtight. brBy booking the property, guests acknowledge that encounters with insects or wildlife are possible and are not grounds for refunds or cancellations.brYou'll also want to clear the kitchen each night and securely package all food.brIf you need help removing any bugs that may appear, don't hesitate to contact the hosts.

This means we follow best-in-class guidelines to ensure you have a peaceful, safe and memorable stay with us. We care a lot about maintaining good relationships with our community, so we appreciate you following these house rules during your stay.brbrLICENSE AGREEMENT: The guest booking the property must digitally sign a license agreement immediately following the reservation. The most important terms of the agreement are included below, and the guest may cancel a booking penalty free within 24 hours. If the license agreement is not completed with 24 hours then the reservation will be cancelled. The agreement will be sent via text message, so please be sure your phone number is correct before booking.brbrAGE 25 OR OLDER TO BOOK: The guest booking the property must be 25 years of age or older. We reserve the right to request a photo or scan of a government-issued photo ID. The guest who books must stay at the property--you may not book for others if you do not intend to stay at the property.brbrQUIET HOURS START AT 10 PM: Our property's quiet hours of 10 pm to 6 am are required by county ordinance and enforced by local police. If the police respond to a noise complaint, every individual on the property may face a misdemeanor criminal charge and be subject to a fine by the county of $300. Failure to abide by the county noise ordinance will result in the immediate termination of the stay without refund. brbrPast noise complaints have always come from groups of 20-somethings. If you are booking for a group of people in their twenties and you think your group may want to play loud music at any time then do not book this property or cancel your reservation if you have already booked. Find another place for your trip so you do not have your trip terminated early and without refund.brbrNOISE MONITORING AND SECURITY CAMERA: We use devices that measure volume levels throughout the property (like a smoke detector but for noise) and allow us to respond to noise nuisances before the police are called. The devices are triggered primarily by sustained periods of loud music, not things like loud talking or laughter (which is encouraged!). The devices do not record audio and are 100% privacy compliant. We also have a security camera that records the front door and driveway. This allows us to facilitate remote check in and monitor the property between guests.brbrACCIDENT FORGIVENESS: Every stay is backed by our accident forgiveness program. Guests will not be held responsible for damage caused during their stay (up to a maximum of $1,500) if 1) the damage is accidental, and 2) the damage is reported as soon as possible, and by no later than the check out time.brbrPOSSIBLE BACKGROUND CHECK: We reserve the right to use a third-party to verify the guest's identity and check criminal databases to finalize the reservation. Complete terms regarding the guest verification are provided in the lodging agreement, and can be provided sooner upon request.brbrGRAVEL ROAD: This house is off a gravel road. The house is accessible by standard 2WD sedans in, but you would not want to drive here in a low-profile sports car.brbrSTEEP ROADS: Please be aware that the roads up to the top of the mountain can be very steep. In the snow it can be difficult to access the property. At all other times access is not difficult, but driving on steep mountain roads may make some people nervous. If that sounds like you, it might be better to reserve a property that is not along the top of the Blue Ridge.brbrSNOW-INS: During the winter, four wheel drive, snow tires/chains, and a car with good clearance are HIGHLY recommended in the event of a snow storm or heavy rain, as there is a good chance that a significant snow storm could restrict access in and out of the house. You need to use good judgement as to whether to cancel a trip before it begins or leave the house early.brbrBUGS: This is a house in the woods--that means there are lots of bugs, especially in the summertime. Even if you are careful some of those bugs will find their way into the house. The best way to minimize the number of bugs inside is to keep doors and windows closed at all times. Please also carefully clean up the kitchen every night and securely package up all food.brbrSMOKING: Smoking is never allowed inside the house. You may smoke outside as long as you clean up after yourself. You may not litter cigarette butts on the deck, in the yard, or anywhere else--butts must go in the trash after they have cooled off.brbrPET DOGS: A maximum of two pet dogs are allowed. A pet fee of $50 per pet, per night will apply to the reservation. If the pet fee is not collected automatically during check out then it will be collected afterward.brbrSHEETS: At the end of your stay you will be asked to strip the sheets off the beds that were used and leave the sheets on top of the beds.brbrWAIVER OF LIABILITY FOR USE OF THE HOT TUB: By using the hot tub you agree to follow all house rules associated with it and you release the owner of the property and the manager from all liability relating to injuries that may occur while using the hot tub, regardless of whether injuries are caused by negligence.brbrSEPTIC SYSTEM: This house has a septic system. Downtown Harpers Ferry - In the heart of Harpers Ferry National Historical Park

Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, United States

Mountainside Lodge is located in the heart of historic downtown Harper's Ferry, and in the middle of Harper's Ferry National Historical Park. This one-of-a-kind vacation rental is located in a 2-1/2 story brick federal-period building built in the 1830's. The house shares the building with a family-style restaurant (The Rabbit Hole) and a very popular gift and jewelry shop, The Vintage Lady. The house was originally 2 townhouses, and the center walls were removed in the 1970s to create a large open space on the 1st floor. While the house's exterior painting scheme reflects this original configuration and looks like 2 separate units, the vacation rental spans both spaces (see photo). The building was used during the civil war by both Confederate and Union Armies, primarily as an infirmary/hospital, and is a stop on the Harpers Ferry Ghost Tour.brbrThe first floor of the house features a large open living room/dining room, a full modern kitchen, 1/2 bath, and a large porch with fantastic mountain and river views and views of Harpers Ferry gap. The inside space features hard-wood floors, exposed brick walls, an exposed beam ceiling (many of the beams are original hand-hewn), and large windows looking onto the mountains and the Potomac River. There is a Roku TV with cable, DVD player, VCR, games and toys, and a 10-seat dining table on the 1st floor. A highchair is available upon request. In addition to modern amenities, the house is decorated in fantastic period antiques.brbrThe second floor has 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths and a laundry room w/ full-sized washer and dryer, and offers views of the Potomac River. The master bedroom has a Queen bed and a comfortable full-size futon (comfortable for 1 adult or 2 children). The second bedroom has a Queen bed, and the 3rd bedroom has a twin/full bunk bed (twin on top; full on bottom). The configuration is ideal for two families (4 adults and up to 5 kids), 2-3 couples, or 6-7 friends! All three bedrooms have TVs and DVD players and comfy sheets, mattresses and pillows. brbrThe building sits atop a steep hill, and there are 65 stairs leading down to the 2 parking spaces reserved for the vacation rental in the rear of the building. The front-door to the house is at street-level, so door-to-door drop-off of luggage is possible.

This property features 5 exterior security cameras. Camera 1 is facing the entry of front porch. Camera 2 is facing the parking area. Camera 3 is facing the yard. Camera 4 is facing the back deck. Camera 5 faces the pool. The cameras are outward facing and do not look into interior spaces.brbrACCIDENT FORGIVENESS: Every stay is backed by our accident forgiveness program. Complete terms regarding the guest verification are provided in the lodging agreement, and can be provided sooner upon request.brbrSNOW-INS: During the winter, four wheel drive, snow tires/chains, and a car with good clearance are HIGHLY recommended in the event of a snow storm or heavy rain, as there is a good chance that a significant snow storm could restrict access in and out of the cabin. You need to use good judgement as to whether to cancel a trip before it begins or leave the cabin early.brbrBUGS: This is a cabin in the woods--that means there are lots of bugs, especially in the summertime. Even if you are careful some of those bugs will find their way into the cabin. The best way to minimize the number of bugs inside is to keep doors and windows closed at all times. Please also carefully clean up the kitchen every night and securely package up all food.brbrSMOKING: Smoking is never allowed inside the cabin or on the decks. You may smoke outside as long as you clean up after yourself. You may not litter cigarette butts on the deck, in the yard, or anywhere else--butts must go in the trash after they have cooled off.brbrSHEETS: At the end of your stay you will be asked to strip the sheets off the beds that were used and leave the sheets on top of the beds.brbrPOOL SEASON: The pool is now open for 2026 (as of 4/15/26) and will remain open through the end of October. The pool is NOT heated.brbrSTEEP SPIRAL STAIRCASE: Please note that access to the top deck and hot tub requires using a steep spiral staircase adjacent to a long drop of 30+ feet. This may not be suitable for children, elderly guests, or those with mobility challenges. Use caution when ascending or descending.brbrWAIVER OF LIABILITY FOR USE OF THE POOL AND HOT TUB: By using the pool and/or hot tub you agree to follow all house rules associated with it and you release the owner of the property and the manager from all liability relating to injuries that may occur while using these amenities, regardless of whether injuries are caused by negligence.brbrSEPTIC SYSTEM: This cabin has a septic system.
