Classic family beach home with awe inspiring views. Set back a mere 5 minute stroll from the somewhat private beach of Separation Creek, Shorebreak, whilst no frills, really ticks all the boxes. Recently renovated to maximise space and functionality, open plan living is flanked on both sides by three compact yet well appointed bedrooms. A small offset balcony provides a protected zone for taking in the sea breeze whilst ocean facing windows provide stunning views and natural light throughout the living and dining area. Other features include off street parking, rear deck, wood fire and loads of charm. Unpretentious with a splash of class best describes this cheeky little family escape.brbrOur stay at Shorebreak was sure a surprise. It looked like a nice enough place when we pulled up outside but a better than expected view greeted us as we walked in the door. The view was amazing! We were happy enough to sit at the dining table, share the food and wine we had brought with us and just watch the sea. The kitchen had everything we needed and the bathroom served the six of us well. The little area outback is a sun catcher too. This little gem had enough room for us to spread out and come together. Comfortable bed rooms topped it off nicely. A good find and worth a visit. Janelle November 2017brbrI've just spent two weeks at Shorebreak in Separation Creek. A cute, modest beach house with an amazing view towards Wye River. While I loved the first few days walking on the beach and checking out rock pools with friends in the fine weather; when the weather closed in and I was here on my own for a few days, it was cozy and warm inside as I watched the wildness on the outside. A great range of old DVDs to choose from, a good book and a well equipped kitchen for a beach house made for a pleasant time away to recharge. I'll be back. Set across two stories, families and friends are treated to spacious indoor & outdoor open plan living, both up top, and down below. On entry, the contemporary feel hits you instantly, as does the spectacular outlook. The entire upper level boasts spotted gum flooring, floor to ceiling sliding glass doors and majestic ocean views. Lighting, both natural and fixed, really brings this space to life. Add in the gentle flicker of an open fire at night and you have yourself an intimate setting. Other features on this level include a cheeky little multimedia area with TV and games console, fully equipped kitchen, spacious tiled deck with both outdoor dining and lounge, upstairs bedroom with en suite and separate powder room. There are two TVs in the house, one in the rumpus room and a second in the large living area upstairs. The TV upstairs is not in the main part of the living room to provide two separate spaces (one for watching TV, another for the view and the fireplace)brbrHeading downstairs finds two more bedrooms, full service laundry and second living room. The master bedroom on this level is nothing short of special. Fully en suited with free standing bath amongst the tree tops, this room truly gives a sense of luxury. Iluka Blue is a very popular seaside holiday home located on Iluka Avenue, between Wye River and Separation Creek on the Great Ocean Road. brThoughtfully designed and orientated to take in the light and expansive views over Separation Creek beach, the coastline, Sturt Point and Wye River village. brbrUpstairs area is entirely an open living, kitchen and dining space which invites you to sit down, relax and take in the multiple viewpoints. The sitting area has an iconic Great Ocean Road aspect, framed beautifully by the floor to ceiling double glazed windows. The adjoining timber dining table also enjoys the same aspect, making shared meals with loved ones here even more memorable. At the other end of the room is the lounge area featuring a sandstone stacked wall with inbuilt gas log fireplace. Sit back on the tan leather couches and enjoy a movie on Foxtel or streaming via the Smart TV and fast fibre to the node NBN wireless internet. Or enjoy a book sitting at the library wall with another framed view - this time of Sturt Point and Wye River. brbrThe modern kitchen is fully equipped, with a 900mm wide electric oven and gas cooktop, integrated dishwasher, large fridge, DeLonghi coffee machine & grinder, microwave, breakfast bar with stools, cooking pots and serving ware. Enjoy holiday BBQs on the adjoining deck, with outdoor dining setting and ocean views. brLAST MINUTE CANCELLATION 4-9TH JAN 35% DISCOUNTED STAYbrbrIf you love and appreciate a classic 50s Aussie beach shack then you’ll enjoy this lovingly curated time capsule and I haven’t even mentioned the stunning view. brbrSet high on the hill in one of Wye’s oldest streets, the house has stunning ocean views looking straight down to Wye beach and with Wye’s largest residential gumtrees on the property, the house has a bush feel privacy unlike any other in the heart of Wye River. The upshot is you can lie on a banana lounge on the deck and feel like you’re just submerged in nature. The bird life visiting you on the deck will blow your mind. Very friendly Kookaburras, Cockatoos, Rosella's..... they are not shy. You may also spot a Koala in the gums or a mob of Kangaroos in the back garden.brbrThe interiors have been fitted with original 50's & 60's furnishings, artworks and appliances and from the moment you walk in its like taking a step back in time to the golden days of 1950's Aussie beach culture. brbrThis house wasn’t bought as an investment but a passion project and it’s still evolving. It will only appeal to those that love and appreciate mid century design or want to experience the property's time capsule feel which makes a stay at Kath's View a unique holiday experience. brbrThere are plenty of modern beach houses for rent in Wye but there is only one Kath’s View. Please scroll through all the photos. I have recently had the house re-shot and by scrolling through you'll see exactly what this time capsule is all about.brbrLocated in the original old part of Wye River, Kath's View is just a short 3 min walk down the hill to the main beach, Wye General Store and the Pub. brbrLocation, Location, Location, an important thing to note for first time visitors to Wye is that many of the houses are located so high up on the hill that it's impossible to walk to and back from beach, so a less than 1km walk will require you to hop in the car and in the peak of summer there is scare parking at the bottom of the hill. Kath's View is located within an easy walk to the beach so no need to get into a car.brbrFor overseas visitors travelling down the Great Ocean Road, the house offers an opportunity to experience the tradition of the great Aussie beach shack complete with its original 1950's fit out.brbrKath's View is typical of beach houses designed in the 50's, the property has a large open plan top floor living/ dining kitchen capturing those magical sea views. brbrThe house can accommodate up to 7 guests in 3 separate sleeping quarters located on the property or just rent the main house master bedroom for two.brbrThe master bedroom located inside the main house has been incorporated into the open plan top floor space. With no walls to block out the view, the open plan bedroom allows you to lie in bed and soak up the views or light the fire and turn the 55 inch LCD SMART TV around to enjoy both big screen and the crackling fire from the comfort of your bed. The perfect couple's bolthole in Wye's wild winters. brbrThe Peacock bedroom downstairs accessed by an undercover external stair off the main house sleeps 2 in a queen bed and a separate single bed can be provided for a 3rd guest. brbrThe bathroom is also located downstairs and accessed by the external undercover staircase. Two toilets, one located downstairs and a powder room upstairs in the main house.brbrThose wanting lots of privacy will enjoy staying in the Port-hole bungalow. Again 7th guest can be accommodated with a full-size single bed provided on request.brbrA large deck off the top floor offers panoramic ocean views looking straight down to Wye beach. Enjoy a barbie lunch or just lounge around on a deck chair in the sun. You'll find it hard to drag yourself away from the sea view or watching the surfers' catch a wave.brbrMODERN CONVENIENCES HAVE NOT BEEN FORGOTTEN:brbrWIFI on Telstra broadband throughout the property. brbr55 inch Sony Smart TV in the lounge room, separate 50 inch TV in the Port-hole Bungalow with DVD player (ideal space for teenagers to enjoy away from the rest of the family in a little cocoon) Stereo, iPod docking station, split system air-conditioning/heating in every bedroom including main house, lots of platters, glasses, crockery and cookware. brbrThe house is well equipped for entertaining with the BBQ located on the deck, outdoor table and chairs. Inside is perfect for dinner parties with guests also able to enjoy the ocean and bush views from the dining table.brbrGuests, please note this property is not suitable for young children and as such we do not accept children under 5 years. The property has two lots of stairs and due to the configuration of the bedrooms located on separate parts of the property, children over 5 years may not feel comfortable sleeping downstairs away from Mum and Dad.
