It is easy walking distance to everything in town (3 mins) and the surf beach (7 mins).brbrYour boats can be parked beside the cottage, or in the fenced, secluded, back paddock at the back of the cottage. There are hoses to wash your boat. There is mooring at the jetty 200 metres across grass at the front of the Cottage. brbrIts huge front veranda overlooks the lake 200 metres away. It is one block from the back entry to the hotel, one block from the bakery, cafes and supermarkets. The large back veranda is an excellent place to keep your fishing tackle and provides another area to relax in.brbrIts three bedrooms accommodates 7 with 1 extra on a lounge bed at no extra cost. The Polehouse complex is of 2 storeys, with the owner's house above, the 2br unit on the lower level (still enjoying fabulous views) and the 2 storey 1br unit semi-detached from the main house. The property faces NE across the lake at the very bottom of Scenic Ct on the left. The garden contains native plants, fruit trees and a wide selection of herbs. NOTE: Guests need to BRING THEIR OWN LINEN (Q/S UPPER and LOWER sheets [the upper sheet prevents the doona making contact with the skin], pillow slips and towels). However, if they can't, they can usually pick it up cheaply at op shops along the way. FREE wi-fi is available. Note, a 4 NIGHT MINIMUM BOOKING applies, except for Christmas/Jan, when it is 7 nights. This listing describes the 1br unit.brbr1BR UNIT :brThis 2-storey unit is imaginatively designed in Moroccan style, with many curved motifs. The living and bathing areas are on the lower floor. There is an electric stove with ceramic hotplates, a microwave oven and full-size refrigerator. The shower is placed within a large bath. This bath is NOT to be used as a SPA, as it takes all the hot water. The toilet and washing machine are located in a corner. The unit is heated by a wood burning oven with glass door - the flue warms the bedroom above where there is a Q/S bed. On an outside patio there are a table and chairs. From the bedroom sunbathing deck on the upper floor, dramatic views can be enjoyed over the lake. Covered car parking is located outside the unit at the top of a paved driveway; a boat trailer with a small or medium-sized boat can also be fitted in. Panoramic views of the bottom lake were enjoyed from any position on the property. A mezzanine floor with amazing views, even as you raise your head off the pillow. Binoculars are a must, for detailed views of Gabo Island Lighthouse, Goodwin Sands and spotting where all the boats are fishing. Good parking off road for car and boat. Karbeethong boat ramp is a 5 minute drive, directly below the property. Town folk were friendly, boaties patient at the ramp, the sound of bellbirds all around the expansive lake while fishing from our boat, all so memorable. Mallacoota has timeless serenity and sounds of birdlife to relax, sip wine and cast a line.brbrTestimonial 11/23brI wanted you to know and hopefully pass onto R & K how much we loved and appreciated our stay at this marvelous property. Both my husband and I cannot speak too highly about the accommodation, the grounds, the friendship and of course the scenery. The interior is beautifully decorated, so peaceful and relaxing, wish we could have stayed much, much longer than our 7 days. Our relaxation was enhanced by the atmosphere created by K's’ exceptional artwork of local wildlife. Waking to the sunrise views and sleeping to sunset views was just an incredible experience. Best of all was the generosity and friendship of R & K. Wish we lived closer and could visit, stay more often.
