Large, fenced in backyard , pool (not heated and open April to Nov ) , yard games , soccer goal and a tree swing to keep the kids occupied. Wake up to the chirping of the birds, and watch our resident hummingbirds. The outdoor fire pit is perfect for chilly nights and making smores. Head down to the quaint little town of Mineola with many food options and local eats. There are also other attractions like antique shopping, an alligator park, private zoo, and Mineola train station. Please have the door code handy when you venture out. If for any reason you are locked out, pls don’t panic, call us immediately and we can open the door for you.br * No tampering with modem, router, or any smart devices such as cameras, doorbell, smart lock etc. Tampering will incur $250 fee and immediate termination of stay without refund for non-compliance. The owner continues to make upgrades to the property. This was the residence of The Brooks family who owned the Cotton Gin and Brooks Department store downtown dating back to the early 1900's. The House has 4 suites each with their own private entrance protected by a passcode that guests receive from the owner in advance of their stay. Each suite has a large living room, a spacious bedroom and a private bath. All suites have guest controlled central heat and air. The front suites have direct access to the large porch. Two of the suites have Jacuzzi Tubs. Presently The Brooks Suite and The Graham Suite are open and available to guests. The Graham Suite is named after LR Graham who was Mineola's first store owner. (Graham Street is named after LR) The Graham Suite is tastefully decorated with antiques and art offering a glimpse of what Graham's interests likely were back at the turn of the Century. It's just two blocks behind the quaint, historic downtown area, and within walking distance of good food, fun shopping, history-filled locations (including The Historic Select Theater that has been in continuous operation for over 100 years), and the Amtrak. If fishing and water is what you enjoy, there are several large lakes just a short drive away. brbrFor nature lovers, the Mineola Nature Preserve is less than five miles down the road. The nearby towns offer even more historic sites, antique shops, unique boutiques, and the must see to believe Canton's First Monday Trade Days.brbrThe bedrooms are large and have private seating areas. Both bedrooms have access to private or semi-private bathrooms (the main bathroom in the master bedroom has a hall entrance that can be locked to make it private).
