There are two hot tubs, a fitness center and picnic/BBQ areas. There are also 2 hot tubs, a tennis court, and BBQ grills and picnic areas sprinkled around the complex.brbrAll people are considered people regardless of age or size or how they “usually” sleep. Occupancy rules are set by the homeowners association with the guidance of the fire department. We provide self check in instructions 24-72 hours prior to arrival - and when you are on vacation - YOU ARE ON VACATION. We are happy to answer any questions at any time, but to ensure we give you the correct code we cannot provide access instructions earlier than this.brbrBed linens for all beds, one bath, hand and wash cloth for each guest that the unit welcomes. We do not provide beach/pool towels as when we did – they continuously went home with our guests. If you wish to “rent” beach towels from us – it is $25 for condos that accommodate up to 6 guests and $35 for condos that accommodate up to 8 guests. Which is only the additional cost of the laundering of them – labor time, laundry products, etc. We will need to have a credit card on file for this as if there are beach towels missing upon your departure, the charge is $25 per towel. We ask that our bath towels not be removed from the condo and taken to the beach or pool. They can get damaged or lost. brbrStarter supplies: 2 rolls of 2-ply, quilted toilet paper, a roll of paper towels, a dishwasher tablet, small dishwashing liquid, sponge, 2 small soaps, 2 small shampoos, trash bag, and coffee including sweeteners, stir sticks, powdered creamer to make that first pot. These are intended to get you started while you make your list and decide where to shop (there is a WalMart, Kroger, Randall's, Arlan's and Target on the island, as well as many mom & pop grocery stores. brbrThe Victorian condominium complex is located on Seawall Boulevard with protected (traffic signal) crossing at the corner for ease of getting to the beach. You will be close to shopping and eateries - so whether you plan to experience Galveston's culinary adventures or save money by cooking in (some or all of your meals) it's convenient from this central Seawall Boulevard Location.brbrThe Victorian condominium complex – like almost every condominium complex and hotel in Galveston, charges a parking/resort/amenity fees. This is not a charge from My Galveston Getaway and is paid directly to the complex upon your arrival. They will issue a parking permit and may issue wristbands that identify guests who are authorized at the complex. They will also provide guests with the codes for the gates to enter the property - both drive-through and walk through, pools, hot tubs, fitness center and the WiFi code which is changed monthly. It is a complex-wide WiFi system. The charge is $40 + tax and includes up to 2 parking permits. This is for stays that are up to 7 consecutive nights in duration. For stays of 8-31 days it is $80 + tax, and for extended stays it is $80 + tax per month. We are unable to collect this in advance and pay it to the Victorian on your behalf. We don’t get to make the rules, we just play by them!brbrThere are several pay-per-use laundry facilities at the Victorian, these accept credit and debit cards as methods of payment.br brMany of our owners have switched out to “Smart” TV’s – so bring your login information with you to sign in to your own subscription services, and don’t forget to log-out before leaving.brbrThe Victorian complex does not allow renters to have a pet – so if you travel with Fido or Fifi – please check out the other My Galveston Getaway managed properties that ARE dog friendly. While true service animals are an exception – you very well may be asked by the complex to provide the verification. For short term rental/vacation purposes – emotional support animals are not considered true support animals and we are unable to make exceptions to a rule that is in place and enforced by a complex in which we manage condos. Kindly be respectful. brbrAll properties managed by My Galveston Getaway are 100% non-smoking/non-vaping properties. brbrAfter making your reservation you will receive a link to complete our renters agreement. The only information we request differently than the booking platforms (VRBO/AirBnB) is your personal email address, the names and ages of each person who will be in the property during your stay, and your driver’s license information as well as an emergency contact should we need to reach someone on your behalf. The island is susceptible to rainstorms, thunderstorms and even a hurricane now and then. Sometimes these result in temporary power and WiFi outages. We strongly encourage our renters to consider purchasing trip interruption/cancellation protection either through the platform that you book through or some other source. My Galveston Getaway issues refunds if a governmental official issues a mandatory evacuation of the island. Unfortunately we are unable to control sunshine, temperatures and mosquitos and do not refund other than pursuant to our policy based on evacuation orders. Welcome to Purple Pearl - where the rooms are light, airy and roomy and just waiting for you to come and enjoy your trip to Galveston where you are so close to the beach if you were any closer you'd have to arrive by boat!brbrWhen Beryl came to Galveston in late 2024 - the home spent some time alone - well, not alone - it was being lovingly restored from roof to flooring to almost everything in between. This is the New & Improved version and if you have stayed with us before at Salty Dog you will recognize this home - but you might not recognize it from the outside as it also got a fresh new coat of paint (over all new siding!) and you guessed it - it's PURPLE! The purple pearl has a lore about it - several, in fact. . In some stories, the purple pearl is a powerful artifact sought for its magic or historical significance, while in others, it's a valuable item connected to specific characters or events. However you think of it - it's the place where you and your loved ones will make memories to last a lifetime!brbr3 bedrooms (king bed in master, two sets of bunks - twin over twin bunk beds and third room has twin over double bunks plus twin bed & trundle, AND there is a sleeper sofa in the living room! So many choices! Don't fight over the TV - there is a smart TV in each bedroom and the living room. Remember to bring your own usernames/passwords for your streaming platforms - and sign out when you are headed home.brbrA full suite of full sized appliances in the kitchen, and a stacked washer/dryer plus dining area with nice table for eating, a rowdy game of go-fish, or working a puzzle.brbrBut the best part - of course - is that you are literally steps to the beach! You won't get closer and you won't be happier.brbr$75 per dog fee per approved dog (we must approve in advance, there are size and breed restrictions, and a maximum of 2 dogs permitted during any stay).brbrMy Galveston Getaway provides starter supplies of toiletries, paper products, dish cleaning options and coffee to get our guests started and situated before making their shopping lists and determining which shopping option works best for their group. These supplies are not intended to last your entire group the duration of your stay - but to get started!brbrWe also provide one bath towel, hand towel and wash cloth for each guest that the unit sleeps, along with 2 dish towels. Should you wish to have additional housekeeping services during your stay or to have linen swaps during your stay, these can be arranged with advance notice upon request at an additional cost. Don't want to pack your beach towels We have loaners available for this home the charge is $65 for 13 towels - which is only the cost to launder them all. We do require a deposit and any that are not returned will be charged at $25 per towel. Beach towels are not included unless you request them.brbrA couple of things to note - the living/dining room area has many windows that are high up and are not covered so while there is lots of natural light - whoever ends up sleeping on the sleeper sofa should be a sound sleeper or they will awaken with the sunrise each day of your trip. Because we are literally steps from the beach, and the gulf winds do blow (look up Glenn Campbell's song Galveston) the driveway is always covered in sand and it just cannot be avoided. Just be careful driving in and out - don't rev your engine - the tires could get stuck in the sand of the driveway. It's almost exactly like driving on and parking on the beach itself.brbrWe provide driving directions and self check in instructions. We are a text, call or phone call away - but in general we leave our guests alone to enjoy their Galveston Getaway.brbrAfter making your reservation you will receive a link to complete our renters' agreement. The only information we request differently than the booking platforms (VRBO/AirBnB) is your personal email address, the names and ages of each person who will be in the property during your stay, and your driver’s license information as well as an emergency contact should we need to reach someone on your behalf. Thank you for completing this in a timely manner so that we may send you the check-in instructions for the property you have reserved.brbrWE ARE UNABLE TO SEND YOUR CONFIRMATION INFORMATION UNTIL THE ABOVE INFORMATION IS ALL RECEIVED IN OUR OFFICE.brbrGalveston is a barrier island located in the Gulf of Mexico. The island is susceptible to rainstorms, thunderstorms and even a hurricane now and then. Sometimes these result in temporary power and WiFi outages. We strongly encourage our renters to consider purchasing trip interruption/cancellation protection either through the platform that you book through or some other source. My Galveston Getaway issues refunds if a governmental official issues a mandatory evacuation of the island. Unfortunately we are unable to control sunshine, temperatures and mosquitos and do not refund other than pursuant to our policy based on evacuation orders. Thank you for understanding.brbrbrFor all reservations made directly through our website and through VRBO, there is a $300 security deposit “hold” required. You certainly can purchase trip cancellation/interruption coverage through those platforms as well if you so desire, this is a damage “deposit” hold. This is released once our housekeepers advise that the property has been left in the condition received with no damages occurring during your stay. This is not a charge, but a hold on the credit card on file with which the reservation is made. Should there be damages and they exceed $300 to repair or replace, you will be notified and asked to make arrangements to compensate for those items.brbrWe look forward to reading your 5 star review - and EARNING it!
