Custer, South Dakota, United States

Located just two miles outside of Custer city limits, you will be enveloped in breathtaking views at this unique-luxury, log cabin home. Fourth bedroom is a twin/over full log bunk and kid friendly. All mattresses are new, luxury comfort. We have never had a hot tub and want guests to clearly understand that. We are working with VRBO to correct that mistake and evidently, that is more difficult than expected!br Guests are welcome to use pantry items, spice cupboards and frig condiments.brbrNote: we now have AC and furnace for your comfort! Traditionally, log homes are not built with either and have always been heated with electric cove heaters.* We ask guests to not use a cove heater at any time. We have taped over the cove heaters to help guests remember not to use them. Another advantage to living in the Black Hills: very low humidity and typically, the evenings cool off to chilly. We recommend bringing cozy hoodies.brbr Laundry, WiFi, land line and 4G cell reception, which is an important detail in the Black Hills. Direct TV service provides movie channels for rainy days. Chimnaya and wood supply on main deck. Our wifi is very strong and provides opportunity for catching up on work. Pets are not welcome, but children certainly are!brbrOur Grill is on cement deck, (there are 5 decks, each with a gorgeous view!) Beautiful, custom built blue-stained pine dining table sits in front of the wood fireplace with a grand view of the Black Elk Wilderness. brbrRV bay (18'x24') is available to protect your motorcycles or campers. An attached two car garage provides convenience for everyone. brWhen making a reservation request, please include your phone number, home address and a little note about yourself. We like to get to know our guests! Be especially careful to provide a phone number that receives text. We also recommend that two people in your party keep Robin's cell phone number handy. That way when one phone gets locked inside the cabin, you still have a way to contact us and get the codes again!brbrWe are very responsive to communicate with guests. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know immediately. Robin responds promptly and wants to do everything possible to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Please don't wait until you are checking out to let us know that you have a problem.brbr

Looking for a beautiful escape in the woods with opportunities to hike, ATV, and bike right from your front door Look no further than the 12 Mile Ranch. Watch the visiting wildlife and enjoy the views from the beautiful picture windows or unwind in the evenings after sightseeing. 12 Mile Ranch is completely furnished, including towels and linens, with 2 bedrooms (queen beds in each) a bonus space for the kids with a bunk bed, and 2 bathrooms. It is a cozy historic home with everything you need in one place.brbrbrbrNote: There are 7.7 miles of gravel which makes this a difficult home to ride a motorcycle to. The rate for this home during the Sturgis Rally is discounted as it's not ideal for motorcyclists.brbrbrbr12 Mile Ranch has a rich history in Custer County and the southern Black Hills. Founded in 1884 by local miner Joseph Heumphreus, 12 Mile Ranch — so named for its distance from the town of Custer — served as a stage stop in the 1880s on the Cheyenne-to-Deadwood Stagecoach Line, boarding travelers making their way to and from Deadwood in the waning years of the Black Hills Gold Rush. Later the Heumphreus family raised horses and cattle, and became prominent fixtures in the Custer community. From the late 1920s to the early 1950s 12 Mile served as a dude ranch, hosting hundreds of visitors from around the country seeking an authentic experience in the American West. Today the ranch is owned by fifth-generation descendants of Joseph Heumphreus, making 12 Mile one of the oldest ranches in the Black Hills that is still in the same family as its founders.brbrbrbrAmenities:brbrSleeps: 6brbrNumber of bedrooms: 2 + bonus roombrbrHot tub: NobrbrA/C: Yes, there are units in each of the two bedroom windowsbrbrWiFi: Yes, high speedbrbrTV service: TV with Roku and Sling TV, with the ability to bring your TV with you and log into your favorite streaming appsbrbrCell phone service: Not much, but there is high speed internet at the homebrbrBBQ: Propane (we provide the propane) brbrPack and play: YesbrbrFire pit: NobrbrFire place: Not for guests usebrbrCoffee maker: Coffee potbrbrCity: CusterbrbrLaundry: On site washer/dryerbrbrGarage: No, but the yellow shed next to the home is available to park ATV'sbrbrAdditional amenities: 3 acres of beautiful pine trees, surrounded by national forestbrbrParking: Plenty of parking for multiple cars and trailersbrbrGravel: 7.7 miles of gravelbrbrRV parking available: NobrbrBeds: 2 queen beds and 1 twin bedbrbrbrbrProvided at the home: brbr2 crockpotsbrbrRice cookerbrbrBlenderbrbrKitchen-aidbrbrCoffee grinderbrbrFrench press and coffee makerbrbrPack and playbrbrToilet paperbrbrPaper towelsbrbrTrash bagsbrbrLinens and 1 towel for each person the home sleepsbrbrKitchen stocked with plates, silverware, cups, baking dishes, etc. (enough for the amount the home sleeps)brbrBasic seasonings (salt & pepper)brbrDish soapbrbrHand soapbrbrLaundry detergent (Washers and dryers are free for guests use)brbrbrbrDistance to attractions:brbrMiles to Mt.
