This is a spacious home (3000+sf) with plenty of room for your extended family or friends to relax and unwind. The gourmet kitchen makes for easy meal prep. Being open to the dining and living rooms; the family can stay together. There is a large private yard and plenty of off street parking. Unfortunately we do not allow any pets at the home. brbrThe first floor has two living rooms, each with two comfy couches and TV. The main living room has a Smart TV and the second living room has a gas fireplace. There is a full bathroom downstairs with a Jacuzzi tub and shower. There is a bedroom with a twin bed, also a twin trundle. There is surround sound for all of downstairs and the main bedroom, including the bathroom! brbrThe second floor has three bedrooms. The Main Bedroom has a king bed, 15 foot ceilings, another gas fireplace, a cedar sauna, a walk in steam shower with a rain shower head and a two person corner Jacuzzi tub. The main bedroom also has a seperate changing room and a wet bar that includes a mini fridge and a microwave. The second bedroom has a king bed and the third has two full beds. They share a bathroom that also has a Jacuzzi tub. All bedrooms have a TV, the main bedroom is another smart TV. This property has a huge yard with an ocean view of our town beach, Westport Point and Elizabeth Islands. The living room has 2 couches, a fireplace and a mounted large screen smart Roku TV. brThe house sits on a dead end road with light traffic for a more quiet atmosphere.br The front yard is huge and is very private, the back yard is bordered by a stonewall and tree line for privacy and there is a sheltered outside hot & cold shower. The master bedroom has a king size bed, two closets, and TV. The second bedroom has a bunk bed with a full size mattress on the bottom and a twin mattress on the top. There are 2 bathrooms, one with a tub/shower and the other with a shower. The basement has a washer and a dryer along with folding tables. The floors are hardwood and have been refinished and the kitchen which has ceramic tile floor. You can see the town beach from the house and there is also a town 'dog beach' on Sakonnet point which you can use.brbr Little Compton is a very safe town off the beaten path with excellent restaurants just a short drive away. The Atlantic Ocean shore runs along our entire south end (Rhode Island Sound and Buzzards Bay) and the salt water Sakonnet River runs along our entire east shore. Little Compton is a very quiet, peaceful seaside farming community featuring beaches, a winery, farm stands, a quaint village called The Commons, and many historical sights. Some PLACES OF INTEREST are The Commons, Sakonnet Wine Vineyards (daily tours, and tasting), and near by Newport and Bristol. Daytrips to Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, Cuttyhunk and Block Island are reasonable. In addition to our own vineyard, in near by Westport there also is a vineyard, a brewery and great restaurants to visit. Little Compton has public beaches (Southshore Beach, Goosewing Beach, Lloyds Beach) and a couple private beaches (Warren's Point and Briggs Beach). Southshore Beach and Goosewing Beach can be seen from the house. We also have a great harbor at Sakonnet Point with views of our light house, Elizabeth Islands. Sakonnet Point also features Lloyds Beach and the harbor shore both of which are open for dogs to swim at.brbrWALKING, BICYCLING, and ROLLER BLADING are a joy on the flat, beautiful roads and paths in Little Compton. Bicycles can be rented at Earl's and at Little Compton Adventures. SURFING CAMP run by locals features surfing lessons for kids and lessons for women over 16 as well as private lessons for all and surf boards can be provided for lessons (Little Compton Surf Camp website www.lcsurfcamp.com ). There are TENNIS and Pickle Ballcourts in town and a playground for children. GOLF: Montaup Country Club is 15 miles away in Portsmouth and is open to the public. The house, formerly Edward Howland's farm, was the largest in Little Compton as of 1895 and included 500 acres. Today, the soft grey shingled house sits on one landscaped acre, surrounded by 200 acres of working farmland, preserved by the State of Rhode Island.brbrThe house has four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, and over 3,000 square feet of living space. brbrNext door and across the street are beautiful farm stands with gorgeous produce, baked goods, and friendly neighbors. The house is five miles from South Shore Beach (public), five minutes from the LC town Center, and 15 minutes from shopping in Westport. brbrThe first floor has a roomy gourmet chef’s kitchen that opens into a large family room and adjoins a dining room and a second smaller library/sitting room with its own TV. There is also a powder room on the first floor. brbrOn the second floor, there is a spacious master suite with a full bathroom, sitting area, cathedral ceiling and wall of built-in bookcases. There is also a guest bedroom with two twin beds, a guest room with one queen bed, and another full bathroom. brbrOn the third floor, there are two small bedrooms with two twin beds each.brbrStone walls enclose the front lawn. A large flag stone terrace at the back of the house is a welcoming place to enjoy the pastoral views. By 1900, Quaker meetings at the nearby Friends Meeting House and Cemetery (National Register of Historic Places) had ceased, however, Edward Howland continued to worship there each week until his death in 1903. Located in quaint Little Compton, RI down a private driveway, this home is perfect for a family getaway. The home has one hundred and eighty degree views of the pond from the screened in sun porch, the kitchen, family room and master bedroom. You'll be 40 minutes from both Newport and Providence but feel like you are a million miles away. The master suite has a king bed and a private bath with a Jacuzzi tub. There are two bedrooms on the first floor with a shared bath. One has a Queen bed and the other has two twin beds. The fourth bedroom is located over the garage in a private suite with two twin beds. Both sets of twin beds can be converted to king beds with advanced notice. The gourmet kitchen has granite counters and stainless steel appliances. The dining room has a beautiful farm table that seats ten. Enjoy the peaceful water views from the patio or from the screened in porch.brbrSakonnet Farm & Stay’s Cleaning ProtocolbrbrDuring the COVID19 Pandemic, we have modified our cleaning guidelines to include even more vigorous sanitization and disinfection practices. Kristin is a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has assisted in keeping her surgical office open during this pandemic, keeping her staff and patients safe and healthy. brbrWe have just a couple of us that perform all our cleaning. We have discussed not cleaning if we are not feeling well ourselves, proper use of PPE, proper use of all chemicals, and disposing of all trash, cleaning supplies and biohazards appropriately. brbrCleaning is defined by the CDC as “the removal of germs, dirt, and impurities from surfaces. It does not kill germs, but by removing them, it lowers their numbers and the risk of spreading infection.” Disinfection is defined by the CDC as “a process that eliminates many or all pathogenic microorganisms.” Sterilization is defined by the CDC as “a process that destroys or eliminates all forms of microbial life” - so this would be appropriate in health care facilities, not in homes. brbrWe have changed our cleaning products to use products listed on the EPA’s list that are effective to this COVID virus. We are using these chemicals to clean and disinfect as per the directions on the individual chemicals. brbrWe are paying close attention to high touch surfaces including door knobs, light switches, stair railings, remote controls, arms of chairs, appliance handles, toilets, and faucets. These surfaces will all be wiped with a disinfection solution. brbrWe are asking our guests to turn on the HVAC air circulation upon leaving our home, and opening the windows when appropriate. Our cleaners will also do this if not done before they arrive. brbrAll bedding will be changed between guests, including the quilt/comforter and mattress pad. They will be laundered at the highest recommended temperature before being returned to the home. brbrVirus particles do not live long on soft surfaces such as upholstery. Viruses in general do not live long on any surfaces that are porous, with holes or microscopic grooves. brbrWe have put away most of our decorative pillows and extra throw blankets for our guest’s safety. If our guests use any of the spare blankets we have in the closet, we are requesting they leave them out on the bed so we know they need to be laundered. brbrWe take great pride in offering a clean and safe home for our guests. Even more so now in these uncertain times, we want our guests to feel comfortable when staying at a Sakonnet Farm & Stays property.
