Workout in our home gym before going out to explore. Come home to dinner on the grill or in our gourmet kitchen. Later, gather in the Great Room or have a drink at our bar and sing along with the Jukebox (coming late June 2021). Play Ms. Pacman, board games, cards or PS4 in the gameroom. Stargaze and share memories around the firepit. When the day is over fall asleep on luxury bedding, dreaming of tomorrow's adventures.brbrThe Flying Squirrel Lodge has been completely remodeled--everything is new. We've installed hardwood floors on the main level and carpeting and LVT on the stairs and on the lower level. A state-of-the-art heating and air condition system has been added along with a pellet fireplace insert that you will love! brbrThe main level bathrooms have newly tiled showers and floors. Luxury Brooklinen bedding is found on all of the custom-made beds. There are two suites--the spacious Master Suite (which has its own bathroom) and the Loft Suite (which has a large sitting area). brbrThere is new LED lighting throughout. We've built a Laundry Room, with a large-capacity washer and dryer. The home gym includes mirrored walls, a treadmill, exercise bike, and weights.brbrEach bedroom on the main level (as well as the Loft Suite) has its own 50 wall-mounted flat-screen TV. Additional wall-mounted flat screen TVs can be found in the Great Room (65), the Bar/Music Room (70), the Game Room (58) and the Home Gym (43).brbrEverything in the gourmet kitchen (including all the appliances) is brand new. We've created a coffee bar with a coffee grinder, a drip coffee maker, an espresso machine and a Keurig. The centerpiece of the lodge is the handcrafted 10' x 4' dining table with a live -edge top made from figured sugar-maple. brbrBut that's not all! The Flying Squirrel Lodge is an artisan's paradise--along with the dining table, we have over 30 handcrafted pieces of furniture (most made by host, Dan Berg) and 20 handcrafted chairs. The walls of the lodge are adorned with original artwork by artist, Amy Schade as well as numerous landscape and nature photographs taken by your hosts, Dan and Heidi Berg. brbrThe Bar/Music Room boasts a new Rockola Jukebox. Play one of our pre-made playlists or create your own from the thousands of songs to choose from. Have a sing along or dance the night away! brbrThe Game Room has a big table to play board games--choose from one of the traditional games we have here (Monopoly, Battleship, Clue, etc.) or bring your own. We have a poker set for those who want to play cards. Go for the high score on the Ms. Pacman Arcade Game, which also has several other nostalgic games like DonkeyKong, Space Invaders, Galaga and more. No quarters required! Or challenge someone to a friendly competition on the PS4 gaming console, complete with gaming chairs and headphones.brbrIt's not just the inside of the Flying Squirrel Lodge that is new--we've landscaped the outside and just had a large firepit installed complete with adirondack chairs. brbrThe Flying Squirrel Lodge is our dream home. Watch bald eagles, ospreys, deer, and mink from the windows and decks on the riverside of the house. Easily fish the river from the front yard with the ability to wade up or downstream for miles. The River House is also a perfect location for kayaking, canoeing, and tubing the river with access from the front yard which extends right into the river. Or just relax around the fire pit under the Sycamore canopy and watch and listen to the river flow with your friends and family!brbrThe River House: The main floor includes a beautiful fireplace, dining, and living areas, as well as a screened-in porch and deck all with views of the Little Juniata. There's a full kitchen and outdoor gas grill, half bath, laundry room, game table, and one bedroom with a full bath. Upstairs there's a second bedroom with a full bath and an open sleeping area with two twin beds with its own full bath. There's also a sitting area with a pull-out couch and an upper balcony overlooking the river. The house has central air and heat.brbrPlaces Of Interest/Things To Do: Fishing, kayaking, canoeing, or tubing in the Little Juniata River (outside your door!), bike riding from the house along the Little Juniata River or at Rails-to-Trails on the other side of Alexandria along the Frankstown Branch of the Juniata River (3 miles), hiking paths on our private 30-acre property or miles of paths in Rothrock State Park (4 miles), visit Raystown Lake (18 miles to 7 Points Marina), Juniata College (9 miles), Lincoln Caverns (6 miles), Bluegills Bar and Grill (2 miles), Huntingdon (10 miles), State College (22 miles), and Altoona (29 miles).

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful and secluded cabin, with access to the Juniata River just a few minutes away on the property. Pet friendly but please mention your pet before you book so it can be approved. Bring your kayaks, boats, jet, skis, and spend the day on the river.(We also I’m have several kayaks that you can use if they are available.) We are also located 30 to 40 brminutes from Raystown lake.brPlease keep in mind that the cabin is in a more remote area and has very limited cell service and while we do have Wi-Fi that may also be brslow at times.brThis cozy and secluded cabin was built as a hunting cabin by the previous owners, and when we bought it we decided to turn into a sweet vacation place. It has been carefully decorated and redone to make it a wonderful and private getaway. It is located in a wooded area with a large and lush yard and landscape. When you sit on the front screened in porch, you will hear the birds, chirping and nature at its best. Great outdoor space as well. Featuring a large seating area with fire pit, table and chairs. We also have a propane, gas grill.brThe kitchen and living room space is compact with open floor plan, and features, a large sectional sofa, dining table, and four chairs, bar with three barstools, full-size kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. There is a very small bedroom on the first floor with a double bed. Upstairs loft has two rooms, with a door separating the rooms from each other. First room has double bed and a single bed and dresser. The next room has two double beds and two queen beds. Each room has a window. There is only one bathroom, featuring toilet, vanity, and shower. We do not have a washer and dryer, because our water source comes from a mountain stream, and then put in a holding tank. So we need to conserve water, And therefore don’t have a washer and dryer for your use. There is a laundromat about 10 to 15 minutes away in the nearest town. We do provide drinking water for you.
