Retaining original features of this early two bedroom cottage, the 2016 renovation has updated our home for 21st century living. Conveniently located two minutes walking distance to Mittagong town centre you will find cafes, restaurants, pubs and antique shops.brThe front door opens onto your cosy sandstock brick lounge room with two comfy sofas and a large wing back chair. The gas log fireplace and Persian rugs set the tone for luxury and romance. Complete with TV, sound system with Bluetooth/wifi connection, mood lighting, books and board games . The front bedroom comes complete with a queen size bed, linen sheets, luggage rack and original barrister’s wardrobe. The sandstone home was built in the 1870's and whilst it has been modernised for contemporary living, please understand that it does retain many original features and should be booked as a casual and comfortable home or a large group of friends, or a family gathering - true to the photos. The property has 5 acres of rambling lawns and gardens, which are constantly being upgraded or changed by the owners. Certain sections of the garden may therefore have works in progress during your visit. The main house and cottage (connected via a covered walkway) have 7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, multiple living rooms, two fireplaces and lovely wrap around verandahs. Aylmerton House is a quintessential Southern Highlands experience!brbr Please note: brbr- Aylmerton House has a large dam on the property that is not fully fenced. It also has 2 living areas, a large dining room, and a classic country kitchen.brbrThe adjoining cottage sleeps 4 across 2 bedrooms and one bathroom. The cottage also has its own kitchen area. Note that the second bedroom has an external door and is not accessed from inside the cottage. This is evident in the photos.brbr Do I use the main house or the cottage or both brbrYou will have use of both the Main House and the Cottage. Both are connected via a covered walkway.brbr Wi-Fi, internet, Netflix or pay tv- will I have it brbrThis property provides complimentary Wi-Fi and a password will be provided in your pre-arrival email, or will be available at the property. Please note however that neither the agency nor the owner can guarantee 100% that the Wi-Fi will work, and no compensation will be payable if problematic. If important, please therefore always have a backup plan.brbr What about outdoors brbrAylmerton House stands on 5 acres of lawns and gardens including commemorative and sculpture gardens, large lawn areas, mature trees and a large dam. In the warmer months, the house can be opened up to catch any available breeze. The sandstone walls also keep the main house very cool by comparison to other construction methods.brbr What about sheets, towels and other supplies brbrHigh quality sheets and towels are provided at Aylmerton House.brbrToilet paper, kitchen soaps, guest soaps and some other supplies are also provided, but please be prepared to top up during your stay as needed.
