This protected stretch of the beach is perfect for children as it’s sheltered from big waves and typically has the type of small rolling waves that kids can spend hours enjoying. Waves just right for learning to surf or bodyboard, standup paddle boarding, kayaking and snorkelling. The beach is often patrolled by Surf Life Savers who set up flags indicating the best place to swim. There’s an amenities block, and BBQs and picnic tables are scattered along the grassy reserve adjacent to the beach. Bring the kids’ bikes and scooters or simply wander north along the pathway, that runs parallel with the beach, in only a few hundred meters you’ll discover a wonderful children’s playground and the Surf Life Saving Club’s cafe and restaurant.
