We are just a stone's throw from the historic and vibrant city centre, and within 5 minutes walking distance of Canterbury West Rail Station.brbrOur house is ideal for anyone looking for a cozy and stylish place to stay with character and convenience.brbrYou will have access to the entire house, which is set out on three levels. The entrance hall leads up to a modern kitchen, furnished with the usual modern amenities, as well as some larder basics. The living room includes a dining table, sofa and television. The second floor bedroom boasts a comfortable double bed.brbrThe bathroom hosts a luxurious roll top bath (with shower) and a loo with a view! The second floor terrace is perfect for an alfresco breakfast or sunlit evening drinks.brbrPlease note the property is being refurbished for summer 2021 and there may be some changes to the living area pictured.brbrGuest accessbrThe Hay Loft, is accessed directly from St. Dunstans street. The entrance hall is occasionally shared by the owners, to access one other flat or collect the mail. All belongings can be left in this shared spare and is kept completely secure.brbrThe entire home is for the sole use of our guests.brbrParking Permits can be provided upon request for stays of 5 days and over at an additional charge.brUnfortunately we cannot offer roadside parking permits for shorter stays due to local parking restrictions. Stable West forms part of a converted Edwardian stable block and is situated in a rural yet convenient location, on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty only 2 miles from the edge of Canterbury. It has a large double bedroom (super kingsize bed) with en-suite bathroom on the ground floor, and a further double and single bedroom with shared bathroom on the first floor - all have very comfy mattresses. There is a fully equipped kitchen/dining room with seating for eight, a large attractive sitting room with wood burning stove and Sky Sports, and a light and oak beamed conservatory with additional dining table which leads to an enclosed private garden with a terrace (table and chairs and BBQ). There is a downstairs cloakroom / utility room. The cottage has its own parking forecourt and is surrounded by the owners' large garden and wild flower meadow where you are free to wander. Use of tennis court and swimming pool and EV charging by arrangement with the owners. brbrHigh chair, travel cot and stair gate provided by arrangement.brbrPlease note that we have (friendly) dogs living next door who may come and visit! As well as Canterbury there are many other places of interest within easy reach, such as Howletts Zoo Park (10 minutes by car), Dover Castle (25 minutes) and Sissinghurst Gardens (40 mins). There is also a wide variety of beaches and seaside resorts between 20 and 40 minutes away. Canterbury is less than an hour from London by train, and we are 20 minutes from the Channel Tunnel if you fancy a day trip to France. There are many lovely walks straight from the house, and the Granville pub is a10 minute walk away, serving delicious food and also great for a pint of the local beer.brbr

The village green is the heart of the village, along with the listed 15th century timber-framed public house and the 13th century Saxon church famed for its bells and brasses. Events are arranged every month by the residents and guests can find out more by strolling down to the local shop where the ‘Parish Magazine’ can be found. The beautiful village of Chilham is only 3 miles away and many will recognise it from such TV programmes as ‘Miss Marple’ or the film ‘Emma’, along with many other films and TV programmes. The village has cobbled, quaint streets and 18th century pubs and is a lovely place and defiantly worth a visit, not many Kent villages can boast their own Castle, but Chilham can! With Chartham having its own railway station, travelling around Kent without a car is not a problem to visitors here! In just a few minutes you can be in Canterbury without worry of parking the car. There are also rail links to London and Ashford, so why not come to Chartham and start to really explore this lovely part of Kent
